Kitchen camp.
Hu Bo, the veteran who cooks, is very easy to get along with. He helps Bai Shu and Nan Qianyue cover for each other and even thoughtfully takes the chicken feathers to be disposed of.
"Wow, it smells so good!" Nan Qianyue stood by the pot, swallowing hard.
Bai Shu smiled, lifted the pot lid, ladled out a bowl, and handed it to her, saying, "Be careful, it's hot."
Nanqianyue took the bowl and said, "Give Hu Bo a bowl too."
Bai Shu smiled and said, "Of course, but I'll have to trouble A Yue to send a portion to the Prince. He's so badly injured, he needs to recover properly."
Nanqianyue sat on a small stool, holding a bowl, eating with relish, and mumbled, "Can someone else go?"
Bai Shu raised an eyebrow, "A-Yue doesn't want to go?"
Nan Qianyue looked up, feeling a strange, indescribable feeling. "I always felt that the way he looked at me was weird. Whenever I stood in front of him, he would stare at me."
Is she really that beautiful? But none of the others are as stunning as Qin Yi.
Bai Shu smiled, her eyes flickering, and tentatively asked, "A-Yue, do you believe in love at first sight?"
Nanqianyue paused in her chewing, "You, you mean Qin Yi... he..."
"No, no," Bai Shu quickly waved his hand to explain, "I was just asking casually. The prince has always kept his emotions hidden, so I wouldn't dare to speak ill of him."
"However, I heard that when Qingyi and the others found the prince in the cave, the prince was awake."
Nanqianyue's thinking was successfully led astray by Bai Shu, and she no longer pursued the topic of love at first sight.
She thought for a moment and nodded, "Yes, he said he woke up when I picked up the stick, but actually he had woken up before that."
Bai Shu pressed further, "When did you wake up?"
Nanqianyue replied without hesitation, "It's just that I performed an artificial respiration for him... uh, why are you asking this?"
She stopped talking in time and looked at Bai Shu strangely.
Bai Shu smiled mysteriously; he had already realized that the prince had probably woken up more than once or twice.
“Ah Yue, the prince’s willpower is beyond that of ordinary people. As long as he has a breath left, he can still kill with a knife.” There was a different meaning in Bai Shu’s tone.
Nan Qianyue suddenly realized, "I understand! You mean he could have killed me the moment he opened his eyes, but he didn't because he knew I was saving him!"
Bai Shu: "..." Somewhat clever, but not much.
"You should take this chicken soup to the Prince, A-Yue. It's not allowed in the army to serve private meals. If I take it, the Prince will definitely not drink it. But if he wants his injuries to heal quickly, he should eat something good." Bai Shu placed the tray next to Nan Qianyue.
The southward migration was fraught with difficulties; "If I send it to him, will he drink it?"
Bai Shu smiled and nodded, "You are the prince's savior, your words carry more weight than ours."
...The Marshal's Camp.
Nanqianyue stood outside the door with a tray in her hand, and only went inside after composing herself.
The guards wanted to remind her that the prince wasn't inside, but when they saw the prince standing in the distance gesturing for them to be quiet, they sealed their mouths and stood straight.
"Qin Yi?" The general who had moved south looked around the camp and found it empty.
She placed the chicken soup on the table and turned to leave.
Just as he reached the door, Qin Yi lifted the curtain and came in.
He asked expressionlessly, "What brings you here?"
Nanqianyue smiled slightly and pointed to the chicken soup on the table, "Brother Bai asked me to bring you some food to help heal your injuries."
Qin Yi walked over, lowered his eyes to stare at the chicken soup on the table, and frowned slightly.
Nanqianyue hurriedly explained, "We know you don't allow private meals in the military camp, but you need to eat more protein to recover from your injuries."
Qin Yi didn't respond to her question, but instead pointed his fingertip at the earthen-colored animal hide under the tray. "Do you know what you're using to line your food?"
His tone was surprisingly cold.
Nan Qianyue trembled slightly. She mustered her courage and walked over, taking a closer look. "Isn't this a tablecloth?"
Qin Yi's brows furrowed even more. He pulled out the animal hide and unfolded it in front of Nan Qianyue. "Take a closer look."
As he spoke, he observed every subtle change in Nanqianyue's expression.
Nanqianyue leaned closer to take a look, "A map?"
She suddenly looked up and met Qin Yi's deep black eyes.
Qin Yi's eyes flickered unnaturally, and he said in a deep voice, "Deployment map."
Nanqianyue's mind raced, and after figuring it out, she suddenly opened her eyes wide. "Are you testing me again? Do you suspect I'm a spy from an enemy country?"
She had been wondering how the guards could not have known there was no one in the tent and had let her in without even warning her.
So he was testing her.
Qin Yi silently put away the defense map, and calmly explained while looking at her, "As the commander-in-chief, I cannot lose my judgment because of personal likes and dislikes. I need to be responsible for the soldiers. If I have displeased you, I apologize."
Personal likes and dislikes?
This person's way of speaking is so strange.
Nanqianyue waved her hand good-naturedly, "Since you've said so, how could I possibly argue? Eat quickly, or it'll get cold."
Qin Yi stared at her without moving.
Nan Qianyue resisted the urge to roll her eyes. "Afraid I'll poison you? Fine, I'll drink a sip and show you."
After saying that, she scooped up a spoonful and put it in her mouth. After swallowing, she spun around in place and said, "See, I'm not dead."
Her expression was charming, and Qin Yi couldn't help but slightly curl the corners of his mouth as he looked at her—a very subtle and hard-to-detect smile.
"I don't suspect you of poisoning me, it's just that..." I couldn't help but look at you a few more times.
"Stop talking nonsense and eat quickly," Nan Qianyue urged impatiently.
Outside the tent, the woman in green stood frozen in shock. How dare Miss Nan speak to the Prince like that? Impressive!
