If not now, when?
The Southern Migration Thief chuckled and ran in the opposite direction from the military camp.
She was very lucky and did not encounter any wild animals or snakes along the way.
An hour later, she finally saw the edge of the forest.
To her alarm, several patrolling soldiers walked by.
She immediately lay down, using the bushes to conceal herself, and only slipped out after the soldiers had completely gone.
There are fields outside the woods, and under a banyan tree beside the fields, a hunchback is tethered. The better news is that there is no one there.
Nanqianyue sneaked over, untied the ropes, and escaped on a camel.
She didn't know which direction the valley was in, and ran away purely on instinct.
As darkness fell, she intended to enter the village ahead and stay the night, but unexpectedly overheard this conversation.
"Alas, there are too few women in the village."
"Yeah, when will we bachelors ever find wives?"
"God, have pity on us! Send us some wives, please!"
"Look! The heavens have shown their mercy! They've even sent a fairy!"
The man pointing at Nanqianyue: "..." He's really in for a world of trouble.
"Giddy up!" Nanqianyue rode the hunchback like a horse, patting its rump and urging it on frantically, "Run! Run! Otherwise they'll kill you and eat you!"
The hunchback seemed to understand her words, and its four hooves moved quickly.
"Fairy, don't run away!"
"I will treat you well!"
The southward migration was filled with fear, but thankfully the hunchback was helpful and gradually left the bachelors behind.
In the quiet night, the sound of galloping hooves stood out.
The hunchback dared not stop, which pleased the southward-migrating moon.
Just as she was about to praise him, the hunchback tripped and fell to the ground, nearly throwing her two miles away.
Fortunately, the migrating moon managed to cling to the tree trunk, avoiding the risk of falling and getting seriously injured.
After she landed safely, the hunchback had already disappeared.
As the moon migrated south, it gazed at the dark forest and fell silent.
It's the woods again...
To avoid being discovered, Nanqianyue chose to climb a tree and take a light nap there overnight.
As dawn broke, Nanqianyue stretched its stiff arms and legs, slid down from the tree, and continued its journey.
The valley she had come from was hard to find, so she chose to go to a lower-lying area. The journey was rugged and difficult, but she was not discouraged.
Because she firmly believed that as long as she found that valley, she could go back.
However, instead of finding the valley they had come from, they found a "dead man".
Looking at the purple-robed "dead man" ten meters away with a black line on his forehead, Nanqian Yue looked up at the sky and said, "Don't tell me he's not dead. I don't want to save him anymore. Saving people is too tiring!"
She looked up at the cliff edge above the "dead man" and guessed that he had fallen from there.
"Sigh, he should be dead, it has nothing to do with me." Nan Qianyue looked ahead, trying to ignore the "dead man" and walk past him.
But as she passed by him, Nanqianyue's legs moved uncontrollably toward the "dead man."
"Why isn't Dead Leg moving? Dead Hand, what are you doing? Why are you checking his breathing and pulse?"
Despite his mental struggles, he couldn't overcome his physical limitations, and the Southern Migration Month once again launched a massive rescue operation.
...After a month of relentless effort, they finally dragged the man in the purple robe to an abandoned wooden house.
To save the man in the purple robe, she did a series of dirty and tiring jobs, such as digging for herbs and wild vegetables, cleaning up the abandoned kitchen, and washing the moldy quilt.
What she got in return was that the man grabbed her by the neck and nearly killed her.
Fortunately, she was broad-minded and only scolded this so-called crown prince before starting to "serve" him again.
As the saying goes, "If you're going to help someone, help them to the very end." During her migration south, she upheld the traditional virtues of the Chinese nation and gave this prince named Xiao Chen "limitless" patience.
After spending about two weeks with him, she found that Xiao Chen was a good person, very considerate, and of course, a little pitiful.
Finally, considering Xiao Chen's respect for her in everything, she decided to accept his help and go on a trip to Nanjing with him.
But things are unpredictable, and everything changed that night.
Xiao Chen went out on business tonight, and Nan Qianyue was a little scared being alone in the house.
She found it strange; she hadn't felt fear when she escaped alone and spent the night in the mountains before, but now, staying in this wooden cabin in the mountains, she felt uneasy.
"Go to sleep, go to sleep, everything will be fine once you fall asleep." Nan Qianyue coaxed herself to continue sleeping, and she actually fell asleep.
At the end of the Yin hour, there was unusual activity in the forest.
Outside the wooden house, the bodyguard cooking yawned as he kneaded dough, preparing to steam some buns for his lord and Miss Nan.
Suddenly, he looked sharply into the woods. Before he could pick up his weapon, a dart came flying at him and knocked him down instantly.
Immediately afterwards, a dozen or so people flew down from the treetops.
The leader was dressed in a long black robe, with fierce eyes and a terrifying aura.
"Prince Anzheng..." The guard clutched his chest, struggling to pick up his weapon in an attempt to resist.
The woman in green knocked the guard's weapon away with a swift chop. "Tell me, where is Miss Nan?"
The guard's eyes flickered. "What Miss Nan? I don't know her."
Just as Qingyi was about to strike him, Qin Yi raised his hand to stop him. He calmly looked at the wooden house, paused for a moment, and then walked over.
Inside the wooden house, Nanqianyue vaguely sensed someone approaching. Thinking it was Xiao Chen, she mumbled, "Xiao Chen? You're back. Don't disturb me, I want to sleep more."
Qin Yi stood by the bed, his face hidden in the darkness, his expression unreadable. "What did you call me?"
His voice was a hundred times more effective than an alarm clock. Nan Qianyue suddenly opened her eyes and was startled when she saw the tall, dark figure beside the bed. She jumped up from the bed.
