Wen Ran refused to admit his mistake and replied, "I didn't lie to Mr. Shang."
Shang Jingchi said nothing, raised his hand to help Wen Ran tidy up her messy long hair.
After a long while, he spoke slowly and nonchalantly, "You said you like me, then prove it to me."
Wen Ran raised his head.
Shang Jingchi's facial features were indifferent and expressionless, and his eyes were dark and unclear, making it impossible to tell what he was really thinking.
Wen Ran bit her lip and said, "Mr. Shang, I, I don't understand."
Shang Jingchi's expression darkened again. "You're lying."
Wen Ran quickly retorted, "I didn't!"
"Then prove it to me!"
Wen Ran choked, and the topic went around in circles and then back again.
Shang Jingchi was determined to get her proof. If he couldn't convince her today that he was not lying, it would be difficult to end the matter.
Wen Ran took a deep breath, tilted his head back, moved his body upwards, and kissed Shang Jingchi awkwardly.
This was the first time she had been so proactive since they had met.
She had no skill, her movements were soft and awkward.
While kissing, she reached behind her back and unzipped the back of her red skirt.
Shang Jingchi had no intention of turning the tables from the beginning to the end.
Wen Ran closed her eyes, her cheeks were so red that blood seemed to be dripping out, and all she could hear in her ears was the pounding of two people's hearts.
…
It was already evening when Wen Ran woke up. She vaguely remembered that Shang Jingchi carried her back. It was just dawn.
She had slept in the villa for a day.
Wen Ran got out of bed and put on her shoes. As soon as she took a step, her legs went weak and she almost fell to the ground.
"Hiss..." Wen Ran took a breath.
It hurts so much!
Wen Ran held onto the edge of the bed and moved slowly. After she got used to the pain, she walked out of the room and went downstairs.
Shang Jingchi was not in the villa, only Liu Zhengfeng and Wu Xiumei were cleaning the living room on the first floor.
Wen Ran walked over and noticed a large pile of gift boxes on the table in the living room. They were of various shapes and packaging, each one more exquisite than the other.
Wen Ran asked curiously, "What are these?"
Wu Xiumei quickly put down the rag in her hand when she heard the voice, turned around, and said with a smile, "Miss Wen is awake. These are new jewelry that the young master asked several luxury brands to send. They are all for Miss Wen. Do you like them?"
Wen Ran walked to the sofa and sat down, casually opening two gift boxes, one of which contained a sapphire necklace and the other contained jade earrings.
It looks very valuable.
Wen Ran threw the gift box back on the table, without a trace of joy in his heart, and even felt an indescribable sourness.
She thought of the concubines who slept with the emperor in ancient times.
The next day, the emperor would reward them with many jewelries, and some of them would even be promoted.
Wen Ran sneered in her heart, thinking that Shang Jingchi might have mistaken her for those concubines!
Wu Xiumei noticed that Wen Ran looked unhappy and asked worriedly, "Miss Wen, are you feeling unwell? Or do you not like these jewelry?"
"No, I'm fine." Wen Ran smiled and said politely, "Thank Mr. Shang for me."
After saying that, he stood up and prepared to leave Xishan Villa.
After thinking about it, she decided to ask Xiao Zhao to come and pick her up, so she took out her cell phone.
Before he could dial the number, a tall figure appeared at the living room door.
After seeing the face clearly, Wen Ran put down her phone resignedly. She thought she might not be able to leave Xishan Villa today.
Shang Jingchi was wearing a long black coat and handmade genuine leather shoes, looking noble and abstinent.
He saw Wen Ran, who started walking towards him, his tough features showing a softness that was not usually there.
When they were almost there, Wen Ran was the first to greet them. "Why are you back so early, Mr. Shang?"
Shang Jingchi smiled and said, "I wanted to come back and see if you were awake."
Seeing that Wen Ran was only wearing a thin pair of pajamas without fleece, Shang Jingchi took off his black coat and put it on her.
Even though the heater was on in the room, Wen Ran still felt a little cold in her pajamas.
Shang Jingchi's coat was very long. When Wen Ran put it on, it looked like a child wearing adult clothes. The hem of the coat almost dragged on the ground.
"Did you eat anything after waking up?" Shang Jingchi asked again.
"No, I'm looking at the gift you gave me." Wen Ran answered seriously.
Shang Jingchi glanced at the table and noticed that only two gift boxes were open. He frowned and asked, "Don't you like it?"
Before Wen Ran could answer, Shang Jingchi said, "It's okay. I'll ask them to send some other styles tomorrow."
Wen Ran thought about it and finally decided to say, "No need, Mr. Shang, I don't really like wearing these jewelry."
Wen Ran didn't want her to be unable to settle these accounts with Shang Jingchi in the future.
Nowadays, the simpler the better for two people.
Shang Jingchi didn't think much about it. When he heard Wen Ran say that, he said, "Okay, I'll ask them to send the rest."
As he spoke, he took Wen Ran's hand and walked towards the second floor. When he reached the stairs, he turned back and told Wu Xiumei, "Auntie Wu, please send dinner upstairs later."
Wu Xiumei immediately exclaimed, "Hey!" and asked, "What would you like to eat tonight, Master?"
Shang Jingchi turned his gaze to Wen Ran and asked what she meant.
Wen Ran suddenly had an idea and said with feigned anticipation, "I want to eat the meat grilled by Mr. Shang himself."
"Okay." Shang Jingchi agreed immediately, which made Wen Ran stunned for a moment.
Then Shang Jingchi was heard saying to Wu Xiumei, "Auntie Wu, please prepare it and bring it upstairs. I'll grill it." After giving the order, Shang Jingchi took Wen Ran upstairs.
