Chapter 1 Saving the Princess Cursed by the Wicked Witch (01)

"Come in." Hearing this, the butler breathed a sigh of relief, a smile spreading across his lips. He opened the door wider and stepped aside to let Yan Li in.

"I am the steward of this castle. The lord has sent me here to meet you warriors."

"How should we address you, guest?"

"Yan Li".

The butler led the way for Yan Li, his tone tinged with helplessness: "Miss Yan, to be honest, you are the 107th warrior to visit the lord. I truly hope that the lord has not waited for the wrong person this time."

Yan Li laughed: "Didn't any of those warriors succeed?"

"All the previous warriors failed without exception."

The butler didn't seem to care about Yan Li's attitude. As he spoke, he led Yan Li to a room on the third floor, his tone tinged with sadness:

"The lord is a very good man. Although the previous warriors did not succeed, in order to reward their courage, our lord gave each of them a hundred taels of gold as a reward."

The butler shook his head and opened another door with his key: "It's a pity that fate is so unfair; we can't even find a single person who truly cares for us."

After saying that, the butler stared intently at Yan Li, as if she were some kind of unfaithful man.

"It's all about timing and fate." Yan Li nodded solemnly.

"But it doesn't matter, because your princess's hope, which is me, has come to take away the world's one and only true heart!"

The butler was taken aback by these words: Could it be that this warrior has been in the illusion for too long and has lost his mind?

After the wooden door was pushed open, the butler, having composed himself, turned to the side and said, "Miss Yan, this is your room. I hope you have a pleasant evening."

"There is currently no place in the castle where guests are prohibited from entering or leaving. The lord's room is the third room on the left on the fourth floor. If Miss Yan has time, she is welcome to go up and visit at any time."

"The lord enjoys a lively atmosphere, so you don't need to be reserved."

“However…” The butler seemed somewhat hesitant, looking at Yan Li as if he wanted to say something but then stopped himself.

Yan Li: "But what?"

This time, the butler didn't hesitate; on the contrary, he was extremely agreeable, but beneath that agreement lurked a hint of fear:

“The lord does not like guests visiting him at midnight,” the butler said, glancing toward a room upstairs.

"If Miss Yan doesn't have anything important to do, please try to avoid this time."

"Otherwise, if the lord gets angry, Miss Yan won't be able to help him."
