Chapter 7 Rescuing the Princess Cursed by the Wicked Witch (07)

The bed in the castle seemed to have a magical power. Yan Li wanted to see when the power binding her would disappear before exploring the castle on her own.

Unexpectedly, as soon as she lay down on the bed, she felt her mind was in a daze and she became very sleepy.

A faint fragrance suddenly wafted into the tightly closed room. Yan Li felt as if a large stone was pressing on her chest. She tried to push it away, but her limbs were too weak.

'The beautiful and kind princess never saw her lover again. The wicked witch succeeded; she imprisoned the princess in a crystal coffin, preventing her from ever seeing the light of day again, and all evil could not be stopped.'

'Brave and upright warrior, why are you still unwilling to offer your true heart? Please stay in the castle; the princess needs you. If you are willing to stay, all the treasures of the castle will be yours.'

'Sincere? That's laughable. They're all here for money. Their hearts have long been rotten with greed, even their souls are decaying.'

'Oh, my poor princess, please persevere! One day, the evil curse will be broken by the warriors, and your light will surely shine forth.'

In a hazy state, Yan Li's rationality returned slightly.

But at this moment, she wished she had never woken up.

No one had warned her that the respawn point was in the lord's room, and inside the crystal coffin.

To put it more bluntly, it's in the other person's bed.

"Ah Yan seems very anxious?"

Wen Ze looked at Yan Li, who had just woken up and was in a flustered rush to leave, reached out and put his arm around her waist, and placed his other hand on her head, gently stroking it.

"So, Ah Yan was just embarrassed when he rejected me yesterday?"

"It's okay, if Ayan likes it, he can come and sleep with me every day."

Yan Li braced her hands on either side of Wen Ze's body, desperately trying to create some distance between herself and the person beneath her, but she was no match for Wen Ze.

The two bodies seemed to be glued together, unable to be separated even slightly.

But this person insisted on going against her, and pinched her waist, causing her to go limp like a noodle in boiling water.

"Don't move." Wen Ze's voice was a little hoarse, and he patted Yan Li's head again. "Ah Yan, I'm not a good person."

The vibrant energy emanating from her easily stirred his emotions, much like a small dessert he had eaten long ago, making him unable to resist taking a bite.

Yan Li's ears turned red, and she buried her head in the crook of Wen Ze's neck: "Lord, believe me, this is a misunderstanding."

"I really don't know how I ended up here. Yesterday I went to look for the Duke..."

"No need for further explanation, I believe you."

Wen Ze interrupted Yan Li, put his arm around her waist and sat up, a gentle smile on his lips, as if he wanted to drown her in his soft gaze.

Yan Li breathed a sigh of relief.

Wen Ze: "Actually, A Yan doesn't need to use the princess as a cover, I understand."

Yan Li: What exactly did he understand?

"If the lord doesn't believe me, so be it. I will prove with my actions that I have absolutely no ulterior motives towards the lord."

She made solemn promises to Wen Ze, and then tried to climb out of the crystal coffin again.

Unfortunately, Wen Ze wasn't a kind-hearted person, otherwise Yan Li wouldn't have ended up in his crystal coffin.

He reached out and grabbed Yan Li, who was about to leave the scene of the crime, and said leisurely:

"Alright, alright, if A-Yan says it's not, then it's not. But will A-Yan still come to keep me company tonight?"

"If you come, I'll leave the door open for A-Yan, how about that?"

Yan Li, as if caught in a mousetrap, desperately began to shake her hands: "No, please lock the door, Lord. If I do this absurd thing again tonight, Lord, you don't need to worry. Just wake me up or throw me out the door."

After saying that, Yan Li headed for the door without hesitation.

Wen Ze watched Yan Li's retreating figure and naturally didn't listen to what she said.

Throw it out?

He couldn't bear to part with it.

The main hall on the first floor of the castle.

Familiar scene, familiar dialogue, familiar actions.

"Miss Yan, what would you like to eat today? I'll go and prepare it for you right away."

Yan Li sat at the table for only a moment before standing up again, glancing at the attentive butler waiting beside her:

"I have no appetite today, so there's no need to prepare anything."

After saying that, Yan Li went straight upstairs, leaving the butler completely bewildered once again:

Does she even remember that she's a human being? Won't she starve to death if she doesn't eat?

It's bad enough that we can't find any leftovers, but now there aren't even any scraps left?

He couldn't take it anymore; his teeth seemed itchy, and he really wanted to eat someone.

Fifth floor.

"When does the lord plan to make his move?" the steward asked impatiently.

Wen Ze was surrounded by black mist, and there seemed to be a hint of red light in his golden eyes. He lay half-reclined on the crystal coffin, not even glancing at the butler at the door.

The second attempt to use the charm spell failed.

Is that princess really that good?

"What's your hurry? Haven't I already made my move?" Wen Ze said, a faint smile playing on his lips.

The butler's pupils constricted, utterly shocked: Damn it, can flirting be considered assault?

"Has the lord truly taken a liking to that warrior?" The steward seemed to have something difficult to say, and hesitated for a while before asking.

"Hmm." Wen Ze did not deny it, but responded softly, his eyes becoming slightly deeper. "She is the first warrior to enter my dream in so many years. It is truly rare."

What harm would it do to keep her here a few more days?

Wen Ze had lived a lonely life for over a thousand years. Even the simple act of skin-to-skin contact could bring him joy. He wished he could lock Yan Li in a crystal coffin and keep him company day and night.

He really loved that vitality flowing beneath his skin.

Butler: The lord has gone mad after all. Even something as dangerous as entering his dream couldn't make him want to kill.

The butler went downstairs, feeling utterly dejected.

However, within a short quarter of an hour after returning to the hall, he perked up again and then secretly took out a box of face powder from the hidden kitchen.

This incense has no side effects and is specially formulated to cure children's lack of appetite. Just a little bit of it can stimulate their appetite.

The butler tiptoed carefully to the door of Yan Li's room, then squatted down and blew the incense powder through the crack in the door.

After completing his task, he stood up and rubbed his aching back. If the timing hadn't been so inappropriate, he would have loved to burst into laughter.

Meanwhile, Yan Li did not return to her room, but went to find the first princess's crystal coffin again, so she was unaware of the steward's misdeeds.

Unlike last night, the crystal coffin was tightly closed today, and even though Yan Li tried her best, she couldn't push it open even a little.

It seems the rules the butler mentioned weren't wrong.

But in such a short time yesterday, even if the coffin contained a real princess, she would never have had the chance to offer her a kiss of true love.

Moreover, it was truly bizarre that she woke up and found herself in Wen Ze's room.
