Chapter Twenty-Three: Master, don't go, I'm scared
"Ah! Ah! Ah! Help! Help!"
When Zhou Nianhuai saw the blood-soaked female ghost floating in mid-air, he was so frightened that he ran around in all directions.
He saw Yue Huai standing beside him, rushed over, and hugged his leg.
"Help! Help!"
Yue Huai frowned unhappily, made a hand seal, and pushed away the howling Zhou Nianhuai.
Why are you in your thirties, always trying to curry favor with others?
Zhou Ying, annoyed by the noise, retorted coldly, "This is your great-grandmother, what are you afraid of?"
Zhou Nianhuai looked up, about to speak, when he was interrupted.
"Yes, I'm your great-grandmother, what are you afraid of?"
Seeing his frightened look, Qin Huachan felt a pang of pain in her heart. Was she really that scary?
Zhou Nianhuai didn't dare to look at her again; her blood-stained face truly terrified him.
He said in a trembling voice, "I...I'm not afraid...I'm not afraid."
That trembling voice didn't sound like someone who wasn't afraid; it was clearly someone who was terrified.
Zhou Nianhuai had only one thought in his mind: to go home. He hid behind Jing Wu, trembling uncontrollably.
Jingwu was speechless. Was it appropriate for his 1.7-meter-tall frame to hide behind someone who was only 1.5 meters tall?
She tugged at the corners of her mouth, tilted her head slightly, and asked, "You'd better hurry up and call your other cousins to come and collect your great-grandmother's body, otherwise..."
"I'll accept it, I'll accept it, don't say anything more, I'll go back and make arrangements right away."
As soon as he finished speaking, Zhou Nianhuai scrambled out of the house. He didn't know where he was, but as long as he got out of the house, that was all that mattered.
Looking at his appearance, Qin Huachan snorted coldly: "As expected of Zhou Li's grandson, he's just as cowardly as him."
She looked away in disgust and drifted to the side.
Jingwu took out his Qiankun bag, preparing to put the person inside.
"What are you doing?" Qin Huachan immediately became alert upon seeing this and stared at her.
"It's getting late, I have to go home." Seeing her resistant expression, Jingwu continued, "Your grandchildren won't be back so soon, I need to put you in my Qiankun bag first. Don't worry, I'll definitely bring you to see me when I'm buried."
"No, you can leave if you want, I'm not leaving."
Jingwu looked at her calmly and raised an eyebrow: "You have to leave."
She was worried about leaving her here, since her obsession hadn't been resolved. What if she was provoked and turned into a vengeful ghost again? Wouldn't Zhou Ying's family be doomed?
Seeing that she didn't seem to be joking, Qin Huachan's eyes darkened considerably: "I can't leave this courtyard."
"Don't worry, I'll get you out of here."
Upon hearing this, Qin Huachan immediately darted away; she had no intention of staying in the Qiankun bag.
Although she knew she couldn't escape, she could find a place to hide in the yard.
Seeing this, Jingwu formed hand seals and chanted complex incantations.
Before long, a net of countless intertwined spirit ropes descended from the sky and landed on Qin Huachan.
She stared at the glittering net, too afraid to touch it, feeling flustered and unsure what to do.
When Yue Huai saw this scene, his eyes widened slightly, and he was speechless with shock.
She actually knows the Heavenly Net technique, a secret art that has been lost for a long time. There are very few people in the world who know it nowadays.
He stared intently at the people around him, his eyes filled with shock.
Since that day, Yue Huai had returned to Xuanmen to investigate Shuangcheng Temple, but everyone said that Shuangcheng Temple had been glorious hundreds of years ago, but had fallen into decline after a great battle.
But now it seems that what they said was not true.
Jingwu, oblivious to Yue Huai's thoughts, deftly stuffed the female ghost into his Qiankun bag. After putting it away, he took out two talismans and handed them to Zhou Ying: "This house still has a bit of yin energy, which will attract wandering ghosts. However, I will set up a barrier when I leave. You and your wife have been in contact with ghosts for the longest time, so the yin energy is the heaviest. You two should put the talismans away and get some more sun, and there won't be much of a problem."
"Master, don't go, Master." Zhou Ying wanted to reach out and grab her, but she dodged him: "When are you going to take away the corpse inside this wall? I'm scared."
“Whenever the Zhou family comes to collect the body, that’s when you can take it away.” Jingwu patted his shoulder: “Don’t be afraid, I’ve already taken her soul away. There’s just a skeleton there, so no one will scare you anymore.”
Zhou Ying watched the two figures walk away, her whole body trembling.
He's afraid even if a ghost takes him away!
Jingwu left Zhou Ying's house and set up a barrier outside. Seeing that it was already evening, and realizing that he hadn't had lunch yet, he sighed as he walked towards South Street.
This job consumes a lot of spiritual energy, and you can't even get three meals a day.
Yue Huai followed behind her, unaware of her movements, his mind preoccupied with recalling the inescapable trap she had just set.
The two quickly arrived at South Street, where they saw Shao Che already sitting at his stall waiting.
Jingwu quickly stepped forward, smiling somewhat embarrassedly: "Uncle, have you been waiting long?"
When Shao Che saw her return, his face immediately lit up with a doting smile, and he patted her head: "No, your uncle just arrived too. Have you finished taking care of everything?"
Jingwu nodded: "It's all taken care of, let's go home."
Shao Che responded, moved the tables and chairs into the steamed bun shop, and then turned around and took Jing Wu home.
After walking about two miles, Shao Che turned around and saw that the boy was still following them. He whispered to his niece, "Awu, why is he following us?"
Jingwu glanced back and saw Yue Huai walking with his head down, seemingly lost in thought.
So she stopped and stood in front of him, asking, "Do you want to come home with me?"
Yue Huai suddenly came to his senses and realized that he had followed her onto an unfamiliar path, and he froze on the spot.
He looked around and was about to say goodbye when he heard Shao Che speak.
"Since you're Ah Wu's friend, let's go home and have a meal together."
Upon hearing this, Yue Huai hesitated for no more than three seconds before agreeing.
Jingwu glanced at the two people in front of him who were acting unpredictably, tilted his head slightly, but said nothing, and walked towards Green Bamboo Village.
By the time I got home, it was already dark.
As soon as the three entered the house, Ruan Chongyue heard the noise and came out, saying, "You're back? Wash your face and we can eat."
She placed the cooked rice porridge on the table, and when she turned her head, she saw an extra boy, which surprised her.
Then, she pulled Shao Che aside and whispered, "What's this?"
“Awu’s friend.”
Upon hearing this, Ruan Chongyue looked him up and down. She felt that he looked familiar, but she couldn't remember where she had seen him before. So she invited him to sit down and have a meal together.
Yue Huai thanked him quietly and picked up the rice soup to drink.
Ruan Chongyue noticed that the young man was dressed in Shu brocade clothes embroidered with exquisite patterns, and a jade pendant hanging at his waist that was clearly worth a lot of money. He exuded a cool and aloof aura, and Ruan Chongyue immediately sensed that he was of high status.
But how did Ah Wu get to know this kind of person, and even bring him home for dinner?
Perhaps some playboy is deliberately getting close to her; Ah Wu mustn't be fooled.
As soon as Ruan Chongyue turned her head, she saw Jingwu holding a bowl of rice soup, completely oblivious to what was happening outside, not even lifting his eyes. Instantly, all her worries disappeared.
Putting aside Ah Wu's many skills, just looking at his demeanor, how could anyone possibly fall for him?
Jingwu ate with relish, after all, she hadn't eaten lunch and was really starving.
She decided to follow Yue Huai's example and hide some dried meat in her pocket to eat when she was hungry.
