Chapter 67: I can heal your face.
Jingwu frowned upon hearing this, then asked, "Do you remember what he looks like?"
Yao Chenbi lowered her eyes and thought carefully: "Yes, it was an old man. He had a white beard, was tall and thin, and looked quite old."
Jingwu frowned. It was another old man; the one who taught Tong Ke about the magic technique was also an old man.
Could there be some connection between these two?
Jingwu looked at the person in front of him and asked, "Do you know where that old man lives?"
Yao Chenbi shook her head: "After he told me about this method, he gave me a wooden doll and then left. I haven't seen him since."
Where is that wooden doll?
Upon hearing this, Yao Chenbi assumed that she was going to take the wooden doll away and destroy it, so she remained silent.
Jingwu, of course, saw through her thoughts and immediately explained, "I just want to ask that old man behind the scenes some questions, not destroy it. Don't worry, I'm not doing charity. As long as Madam Feng doesn't give me five hundred taels of silver, I won't get involved in this matter anymore."
Yao Chenbi stared intently at the person in front of her, as if trying to determine the truthfulness of her words.
After a moment, she finally spoke, saying, "In my home."
Jingwu nodded: "Then bring it over tomorrow so I can take a look."
Yao Chenbi wanted to refuse, but when she met those eyes, she couldn't bring herself to say it and subconsciously nodded in agreement.
Just as she was feeling remorse, two people walked in through the door.
She hurriedly picked up her veil to cover the wounds on her face, but it was too late.
When Ruan Chongyue walked in, he happened to see the injury on her face and exclaimed softly, "Heavens."
Shao Che couldn't hide his thoughts any longer and blurted out, "How did you get injured like this?"
Upon seeing their reaction, Yao Chenbi quickly turned her face away, even forgetting that she had put on her veil and that they could no longer see her.
Jingwu stood up and walked up to the two of them: "Uncle, Aunt, you're back."
"Yes, Awu. You brought your friends back?"
Hearing his uncle's question, Jingwu nodded in response: "Yes, her name is Yao Chenbi, and she was the original manager of the shop that my aunt and I took over."
Upon hearing this, Ruan Chongyue immediately recalled what the shopkeeper had said when they were looking after the shop, and her eyes couldn't help but turn in that direction.
She had countless guesses in her mind, but since she could get a good look from A-Wu, she must be a good person.
“Then stay and have dinner with us.” Ruan Chongyue thought for a moment before smiling and saying, “Just as I came in, Wen Hui said the food was ready.”
"Okay," Jingwu replied.
Yao Chenbi was restless at this moment. Hearing this, and thinking that staying for dinner would mean having to take off her veil, she immediately stood up and refused.
"No, I have something to do, so I won't stay for dinner."
Jingwu turned his head and met her panicked eyes, understanding what she was thinking, so he nodded: "Okay, see you out."
Yao Chenbi's expression softened, and she hurriedly fled home.
Ruan Chongyue watched her retreating figure and sighed softly, "How did this child get so badly injured?"
"She met the wrong person." Jingwu walked to the dining room with his uncle and aunt and sat down. "She came from a wealthy family. Her parents loved her and left her a shop before they passed away. But she never expected to meet a man from a poor background who not only cheated her out of her money but also ruined her reputation."
Upon hearing this, both Shao Che and Ruan Chongyue sighed inwardly.
"This is what happens when you meet the wrong person. It's such a pity that such a good girl met such a man from a poor background."
Ruan Chongyue couldn't help but sigh, then suddenly looked up at the person in front of her as if she had thought of something: "Awu, don't follow this example."
Upon hearing this, Jingwu paused in his chopsticks: "Don't worry, Aunt, no one can fool me."
Upon hearing this, Ruan Chongyue realized that her niece was a very powerful master and would definitely not be deceived.
After finishing his meal, Jingwu went back to his main room to rest.
As she combed her hair, she thought about the old man.
Both magic and flying needle magic originated from foreign lands and possess extremely evil power.
The solution wasn't difficult; her master had already taught her.
But is that old man the same person? How could he have saved two people who harbored hatred so conveniently?
Was it accidental or intentional?
Jingwu plans to wait until tomorrow to see if there is any lingering trace of the old man on the puppet doll, so he can follow the scent to track it down.
Thinking this, she put down the comb and went to bed to rest.
The next morning, before Jingwu had even gotten out of bed, Yao Chenbi arrived.
When Xue Wenhui saw that it was the girl who had come yesterday, she thought that the master must have instructed her to come this morning, so she went into the room to wake Jingwu up.
Jingwu was still half asleep when he was woken up. He stared blankly for a while before getting out of bed to wash up.
She changed into a light blue dress, casually tied her hair back, and went out.
Yao Chenbi sat in the front hall, still wearing a veil, holding a wooden box in her hands.
Upon seeing the master emerge, he immediately stood up and said, "Master."
Jingwu nodded and sat down in the chair. Her gaze swept over the wooden box, and she immediately sensed the evil aura emanating from it.
"Is this where the wooden puppets are?"
Yao Chenbi nodded immediately and handed her the wooden box: "Yes, this is what the old man gave me."
Jingwu took the box, opened it, and saw a wooden human figure with his birth date and time pasted on it, his body covered with needles.
"Isn't this... witchcraft?!" Xue Wenhui exclaimed in shock when she entered the arena, "If this is discovered, they'll be beheaded!"
Realizing he had said something wrong, he hurriedly stepped aside.
Jingwu took out the puppet and carefully sensed the lingering aura on it.
Unfortunately, the puppet was very clean, with only Yao Chenbi's scent remaining.
It seems that the old man had taken care of it beforehand.
She closed her eyes and put the puppet back.
"Master, I know I'm wrong, and I'm not afraid of being beheaded in my current state. But, could you let me watch that bastard die first before handing me over to the authorities?"
Yao Chenbi had already made up her mind. She had no relatives left, her appearance was ruined, and she had lost all her money. If it weren't for her desire for revenge, she would have jumped into the river and committed suicide long ago.
After she sees that beast die, she will not live anymore.
Jingwu looked at her and asked in confusion, "Who said we were going to hand you over to the authorities?"
Yao Chenbi's eyes suddenly lit up as she looked at the person in front of her: "Master, are you serious? You wouldn't..."
Jingwu walked up to her and handed the box back to her: "You should avoid people and not let them find out that you are using this witchcraft. As for your face, I have a way to cure it."
