Chapter 11 The Eye of Power

After leaving Tongrentang, Han Yi led the two children to a nearby clothing shop, thinking that she must buy some nice clothes for herself and her two children. These clothes, patched upon patched, would probably be rejected by beggars in modern times.

Before Han Yiyi, leading the two children, even stepped into the shop, a plump woman behind the counter glanced at them indifferently and spoke.

"Wait a minute, tell me what you want and I'll give it to you. Don't come in..." Her tone was full of disdain, as if she was worried that if Han Yiyi and her two children came in, they would dirty her shop.

Upon hearing the fat woman's words, Han Yi subconsciously glanced at the three people's clothes. Although they were patched upon patched, they were all clean and tidy. He thought to himself, "It seems that no matter what era, there are always such snobbish people." He then glanced at the fat woman, pulled the two children, turned around, and went into the shop next door, saying...

"Come on, let's go to this shop. I think the clothes here are prettier. I'll buy you a few more new outfits today, okay?"

"good……".

The owner of the shop next door was a woman in her thirties. When Han Yiyi went in, she was tidying up her clothes. When she looked up and saw Han Yiyi and the other two, she quickly smiled and spoke.

"Madam, what would you like to buy...?"

Seeing the boss smiling, he smiled back.

"The boss picked out two outfits for the dolls, and also helped me pick out two outfits..."

Perhaps the shopkeeper thought Han Yiyi's clothes didn't make her look like a wealthy person, so he gave all three of them linen clothes. In fact, most farming families wore linen, but although linen was cheap, it was definitely not as comfortable as fine cotton.

Han Yiyi thought about the money in her pocket and realized she needed to buy so many things, so she first bought two sets of fine cotton clothes for the two dolls and took two sets of linen clothes for herself.

The three of them asked for two more pairs of shoes. The two dolls' shoes had already worn down to their toes, so as soon as they bought the shoes, Han Yiyi made the two dolls wear them.

Watching the two children carefully put their feet into the new shoes, Han Yi felt a pang of sadness.

Finally, Han Yiyi asked for some more coarse cloth, thinking that she could make some pillowcases and quilt covers when she got back. As for the filling, Han Yiyi had already thought it through: she would use the system's points to exchange for cotton.

Han Yi bought all these things, spending a total of one tael of silver. Seeing that she bought a lot, the shopkeeper gave her some needles, thread, and scraps of cloth as a bonus. The plump woman next door had been watching Han Yi from the moment she entered the shop, hoping to see her make a fool of herself. But she didn't expect Han Yi to actually buy so many things. Although none of them were particularly valuable, the sheer quantity of her purchases was astounding...

Farmers don't usually buy clothes in sets, so when they saw Han Yiyi take out an ounce of silver to give to the shopkeeper next door, their eyes turned red. As they watched Han Yiyi leave the shop next door with her bundle on her back, they hurriedly called out again.

"Hey girl, the clothes in my shop are nice and cheap. You can come and take a look next time..."

Han Yiyi snorted softly as she listened to the fat woman's words.

"No, thank you. We're just country folk, we've lived a life of hardship, we don't want to dirty your shop, sir..." With that, she led the two children away, leaving the plump woman angrily shaking the handkerchief in her hand. She turned and went into her shop, but as she entered, she tripped on the threshold and nearly fell to the ground...

Han Yiyi led the two children to the general store again. First, she bought three porcelain bowls, then oil jars, some salt, two wooden basins, and some other miscellaneous items. As for the salt, Han Yiyi originally didn't want to buy it and wanted to exchange it with Xiaohua using system points, but in order to avoid suspicion, she still bought some. However, this stuff was really expensive.

After browsing the general store, I went to the butcher shop and bought some meat. It seems that most people here are lacking in oil and fat, as fatty meat is more expensive than lean meat.

Han Yiyi ordered two jin of pork fat and two jin of pork belly. Seeing that she bought a lot, the butcher even gave her a big bone. Ordinary farmers usually buy meat by the jin or half a jin to treat themselves, and it is rare to see someone buying meat like Han Yiyi.

Looking at the pig intestines that the boss had casually tossed aside, Han Yiyi couldn't help but think of braised pig intestines, spicy and sour fatty intestines, and unconsciously swallowed her saliva, so she asked.

"Boss, how much is this large intestine...?"

“Young lady, these large intestines aren’t very tasty and they’re hard to prepare. If you want them, I’ll give you all of them for just two coins…”

Upon hearing this, Han Yiyi readily agreed. Seeing that it was getting late, she thought of taking the two children out for a stroll. However, carrying the pork would be too heavy, so she told the butcher to leave the pork there and come back to pick it up later.

The two children were the first to arrive in Ping'an Town, but Han Yiyi had been buying and selling things, and the two children had just followed obediently without making a fuss about buying anything.

Han Yiyi ruffled the hair of the two little ones and led them across the street to the candy vendor.

The two little ones' eyes were practically glued to the various sugar figurines on the vendor's stall. Han Yiyi bought one for each of them; Daya, being a girl, liked the little rabbit, while Shitou liked the big tiger.

Seeing the two children reluctantly putting the sugar figurines into their mouths, Han Yi had no choice but to speak up.

"It's too hot. If you don't eat them soon, these sugar figurines will melt..." Hearing this, the two little ones reluctantly put them into their mouths, but the next moment, their excited voices could be heard.

"Mom, Mom, this is so sweet..."

Seeing the two little ones' excited expressions, Han Yiyi couldn't help but smile. She had originally planned to take them to eat another bowl of wontons, but it was already almost noon. However, she was worried about missing the time she had arranged to meet Old Man Wei. She thought to herself, "It's so inconvenient in ancient times without watches or cell phones." So she bought a few meat buns instead.

Thinking that if the two little ones get hungry on the way, they can eat, hehe, of course she can eat when she gets hungry too. As a foodie, now that she has money, she would never let herself go hungry again.

The butcher shop owner greeted Han Yiyi with a smile as he saw her return.

"Little sister, you're back so soon," he said, handing Han Yiyi a basket.

It turned out that the shop owner saw that Han Yiyi had bought a lot of meat and was carrying a basket on his back, so he simply put the meat he bought into a basket and gave it to Han Yiyi along with the basket.

Upon seeing this, Han Yiyi quickly smiled and spoke.

"Thank you so much, Uncle. I'll definitely buy pork from you from now on..." Han Yiyi said this not just out of politeness, but because she had already made up her mind the moment she saw the large intestine. However, she would have to wait until she got back to try it out to know how effective it would be.
