Yuan Fuling's cries brought the old lady back to her senses. She quickly sent someone to fetch a doctor and had someone help Yuan Fuling into the house.
After taking his pulse, the doctor shook his head: "No, it's no use. This bowl of infertility soup has already damaged his body, and he will have no hope of having children in the future."
"What?" Yuan Fuling's face turned deathly pale. She looked at the doctor in disbelief, tears streaming down her face.
Upon hearing the news, Song Kaifeng rushed over. Upon seeing this, Yuan Fuling buried her face in Song Kaifeng's arms and wailed, "My lord, the princess gave me a potion that will prevent me from having children. I will never be able to conceive again. You must do me justice!"
Yuan Fuling cried so hard she almost fainted.
Enraged, Song Kaifeng calmed Yuan Fuling down and then strode off to confront Princess Jia Hua.
He was furious the whole way, carrying a long sword in his hand.
That posture looked like he was about to kill someone.
Bang!
He kicked open the door of Yuehua Pavilion.
Princess Jiahua sat on the rattan chair, embroidering her clothes. She only glanced at the person who came, but Xiushu was already anxious and stepped forward to stop him: "My Lord."
"Get out of my way!" Song Kaifeng shoved Xiu Shu aside, raised his sword and aimed at Princess Jia Hua: "You wretch, what right do you have to force Fu Ling to drink the infertility potion? You are too vicious. Today I will seek justice for Fu Ling."
Princess Jia Hua showed not a trace of fear on her face, and sneered: "If you have the guts, then kill me, Marquis."
"You think I wouldn't dare?" Song Kaifeng raised his sword high: "You kneel down immediately and apologize to Fuling, and I'll spare your life for the sake of our past as husband and wife."
Princess Jia Hua seemed to have heard something ridiculous, covered her mouth and chuckled, then raised her gaze to Song Kaifeng: "The envoy from the Southern Frontier is still in Northern Chu, isn't he? Does the Marquis dare to kill me?"
The question left Song Kaifeng stunned for a moment, his sword bending involuntarily. He glared at Princess Jia Hua and said angrily, "You did this on purpose!"
“It’s plain for all to see, everyone knows it.” Princess Jia Hua shrugged.
Song Kaifeng was furious.
"No matter why the Southern Frontier chose me, if the Northern Chu can't hand over the people, do you think the Emperor will take his anger out on the Song family?" Princess Jiahua narrowed her eyes, slowly stood up, and waved her hand rudely at Song Kaifeng's face.
Snap!
The applause was crisp and clear.
Song Kaifeng's eyes widened: "You wretch!"
Snap!
Another slap.
Princess Jia Hua raised her chin, her face filled with hatred.
Suddenly startled by the hatred in this scene, Song Kaifeng swallowed hard and took two steps back: "Jiahua, aren't you worried about the two children?"
"After I leave, the Marquis's family will surely be promoted and enjoy wealth and honor. Stop threatening us with the child. Otherwise, we'll fight to the death. How about I smash my head against the Song family's door and die?"
Faced with Princess Jia Hua's relentless pressure, Song Kaifeng suddenly remembered his wife, who had once been a wildly arrogant princess.
He was ruthless, decisive, and notoriously bad-tempered.
The anger Song Kaifeng felt upon arriving had vanished in an instant. He said in a low voice, "You wouldn't, the two children are still young."
"If I die, people will plead for my children to be raised by others, but what will become of your Song family is anyone's guess," Princess Jiahua sneered.
These words struck a nerve with Song Kaifeng.
He was discouraged.
"Why fight to the death? I am still the father of two children. This marriage is not what I wanted. Jia Hua, we have been husband and wife, there is no need for this." Song Kaifeng softened his tone.
Princess Jiahua despised this half-dead look the most; bullying the weak and fearing the strong, yet lacking the means to achieve it.
If she showed even the slightest fear today, Song Kaifeng would surely humiliate her severely and would not treat the two children well either.
“Fuling has been with me for many years. You were too ruthless and left no room for her,” Song Kaifeng complained.
Yuan Fuling has only one daughter and dreams of having a son. She has been taking medicine to regulate her body recently.
Now everything has been ruined by Princess Jia Hua.
"The Emperor's will is hard to defy, so why take your anger out on innocent people?" Song Kaifeng continued to scold, throwing away the sword in his hand. Ignoring the burning sensation on his face, he tried to appease Princess Jiahua, but was frightened by her sinister gaze and retreated repeatedly.
“Jiahua…”
"Marrying you was not my wish. After marrying you, I have never done anything to wrong you. When you wanted to take concubines, I never stopped you. I have never mistreated the children born to my concubines. Song Kaifeng, you are not good enough for me!" Princess Jiahua's chest was filled with hatred.
If it weren't for the Song family's underhanded tactics, how could she have possibly taken a liking to Song Kaifeng?
With his fig leaf torn away, Song Kaifeng's face turned pale and then red. He looked at Princess Jiahua with displeasure: "I know you've never looked up to me all these years, but so what? You still married me and endured humiliation under my crotch."
"Smack!"
A slap landed.
"You scoundrel!" Princess Jia Hua was furious.
She never intended to consummate her marriage with Song Kaifeng; both times were calculated.
Unfortunately, she had children both times.
She thought that having a child meant having hope for the long night ahead, so she decided to keep the child. Fortunately, Chuan Ge'er was well-behaved and considerate, and had nothing like Song Kaifeng.
Song Kaifeng rubbed his lip and gritted his teeth, saying, "If you dare to die, I will do everything in my power to make those two children bear the stigma of being bastards and to ensure they die without a burial place!"
Without saying a word, Princess Jiahua picked up the sword from the ground and slashed it at her neck. Song Kaifeng was so frightened that he grabbed the tip of the sword with his bare hands and snatched it away.
His hand was stabbed by the sword, and blood flowed out.
"Are you crazy!" Song Kaifeng roared. "Do you really not even care about your two children?"
Princess Jia Hua raised her chin and smiled contemptuously: "You don't even know my temper. I'd rather die than live in dishonor. You dare threaten me? I'd like to see how you explain yourself!"
