Gan Kee's business is booming as always.
Although there were many complaints from customers because there weren't enough chefs and the food wasn't served quickly, Ganli finally came up with a solution: 'limiting the number of customers'.
The daily capacity is planned, and then number tags are issued to guests. The number tags are limited, and guests who do not receive a number tag will not be able to dine.
The group was initially worried – wouldn't this drive away customers? Wouldn't people think they were too arrogant, thus affecting their business?
However, at Ganli's insistence, they still carried out the plan. At first, they were a little apprehensive, but to their surprise, the method not only did not arouse the guests' dissatisfaction, but also brought them a lot of praise.
Originally, the long service time often caused dissatisfaction among customers, but after the "number restriction" policy was implemented, the number of complaining customers decreased sharply, and the reputation of the restaurant improved even further.
Not only that, even the number plates became scarce, with people lining up early every day, and all the number plates were gone in no time.
Seeing this, the Gan family members were relieved. Although they earned less money, they were much more relaxed and things were no longer as chaotic as before.
Ganli, thanks to the vehicle restriction policy, was able to free up a lot of time and could finally focus on Gantao's affairs.
That day, after accidentally killing someone, Gan Tao went to the local police station to turn herself in, as arranged by her.
Murder is a serious case, and the village head dared not delay, so he quickly escorted Gan Tao to the county government office. Soon after, news came that the county government office would be holding a trial on a chosen date.
Gan Li also heard about the news that Wu's father had offered a reward for someone to help his son get revenge. Knowing that the Wu family would not let the matter rest, she was a little worried about waiting for news at home, so she decided to go to the county town.
In this way, if the Wu family makes a move, she can respond in time.
The news spread, and the Gan family all learned about Gan Tao's situation. They felt great sympathy for the girl, and even Zhao Shi lowered her guard against Gan Tao and shed a few tears for the poor girl.
So when they heard that Ganli was going to the county town for Gantao's sake, they were very supportive.
Old Man Gan sighed, "Go ahead, that girl has a hard life. No one can help her except you."
Everyone else nodded in agreement, but Zhao said, "Wait!"
All eyes were on her. Gan Mingli, thinking his wife was still hung up on what had happened, quietly tugged at Zhao's sleeve.
"What time is it? Don't dwell on those old, trivial matters..."
Before he could finish speaking, Zhao glared at him and interrupted:
"What are you saying! I was just thinking that the weather has changed these past few days, and that girl left in a hurry, so she must have been wearing thin clothes."
I just made some new clothes for Qiao'er the other day. They're about the same size, so take these to her and let her wear them first, so she doesn't catch a cold!
This last sentence was directed at Gan Li.
"Sister-in-law, I knew you were the most magnanimous!" Gan Li gave her a thumbs up.
Zhao smiled sheepishly and quickly went inside to tidy up.
After Zhao left, the group started talking about other things.
When Gan Li was about to go out, everyone was worried about her travel. Gan Mingli and Gan Mingyi vied to go to the county town with their sister—they might not be good at other things, but at least they had some strength and could make sure their sister wouldn't be bullied by others.
But Ganli had no intention of taking any of them with him.
"The restaurant's business has just stabilized. Once I leave, it will be up to you guys to keep it going. I don't want to have to open a fourth time."
In her opinion, Gan Mingli was steady but not quick-witted, while Gan Mingyi was clever but impulsive. She was worried about leaving either of them alone, and she hoped that they would stay together to maintain the normal operation of the restaurant so that she could feel at ease when she was away from home.
What she said made sense, and the Gan brothers couldn't refute it, but they were also worried about her going to the county town alone.
Fortunately, Gan Li had already made plans for this: "Who said I was going alone? I'm going to take Quan Ge'er with me."
Upon hearing this, Gan Quan suddenly looked up, his excitement barely concealed.
Seeing this, Ganli felt even more certain that her decision was indeed the right one.
Gan Li already knew about Gan Tao and Gan Quan's relationship. Although the two seemed to have no relationship before, after this incident, Gan Li could see clearly that they still had feelings for each other.
Especially Gan Quan, who has been absent-minded ever since Gan Tao's accident. She knew that even if Gan Quan stayed, he wouldn't be able to work in peace, so she simply took him with her to the county town.
Another reason she wanted to take this opportunity was to broaden Gan Quan's horizons.
With the restaurant doing so well, it's bound to expand in the future, and she needs trustworthy people. So bringing Gan Quan along this time is also a good opportunity for her to gain experience.
Gan Quan was already a strong young man, and with him by her side, he could protect Gan Li when needed, so the Gan family was relieved.
That was settled.
The journey was quite long, and Ganli didn't want to take the slow oxcart anymore, so she went out that day to buy a horse-drawn carriage and packed her luggage simply.
The next day, Gan Quan drove the horse-drawn carriage, and the two of them went to the county town.
Gan Li was already somewhat familiar with the county town. Once inside, she first found an inn to stay at, and then immediately took Gan Quan to the county government office.
Upon hearing her name, the officials from the county government quickly welcomed her inside and led her to the back courtyard where people could rest.
Inside, Magistrate Lu had already prepared tea and was waiting for them.
Gan Li and Magistrate Lu were not surprised by this because of their previous friendship. However, Gan Quan was a little apprehensive and admiring to see that even the magistrate treated his aunt with such courtesy.
