Chapter 8 The Foolish Daughter

Grandma Gan was already heartbroken, and upon hearing this, she couldn't help but recall her daughter's childhood, and her tears flowed even more fiercely.

Indeed, my daughter wasn't like this before she was five years old.

Back then, she married Old Man Gan, and the couple were deeply in love. They had two sons in a row, and she was truly tired of having sons. Finally, they had a daughter, and the couple loved her dearly.

This little girl is also very well-behaved and considerate, often making the whole family laugh.

They were young then and their family was poor. Although Old Man Gan had a job at Baifulai, there were many people in the family, so Old Woman Gan had to farm some land at home to supplement the family income.

I remember when Ganli was five years old, she suddenly fell ill one day. It wasn't serious; apart from being listless, she didn't feel any other discomfort. But it didn't get better for several days.

However, once they went out, they forgot the time. When Gan's parents returned home to see their daughter, Gan Li had already developed a high fever and had been unconscious for an unknown period of time.

At this time, a fever can be fatal. Looking at her daughter on the bed with her face flushed red from the fever, Old Mrs. Gan was so frightened that her legs went weak. Old Mr. Gan, however, persevered and ran to town to fetch a doctor.

Fortunately, the person was saved, but unfortunately, Gan Li became mentally impaired afterward! She stares blankly at people, neither smiling nor making a fuss, like a clay or wooden sculpture, which makes the Gan family very anxious!
