Gu Yueji hugged Ren Jin tightly and hurriedly explained, "I just kicked the threshold and lost my balance. I didn't lunge at it on purpose. Don't misunderstand."
Ren Jin asked with a grim face, "Who is that person? Are you two very familiar with each other?"
Gu Yueji quickly shook her head, "We're not close at all. He's Jia Hui's girlfriend's brother. Although he was my elementary school classmate, we haven't seen each other in a long time, so we're not close at all."
He glanced at him indifferently, his thin lips pressed into a line.
She smiled ingratiatingly and coaxed softly, "Don't be angry, I really didn't mean to, I won't do it again next time."
He scoffed lightly, "You want a next time?"
Gu Yueji thought to herself, "This person is so hard to coax when he gets angry."
He held up three fingers and assured them, "No, no, there won't be a next time."
Ren Jin looked down at the person in his arms and realized for the first time that he was such a possessive person. He had just witnessed the whole thing, from He Mei pushing Gu Yueji to Sun Xiaoming's smug smile as he waited for Gu Yueji to fall into his arms. He knew it had nothing to do with Gu Yueji, but he couldn't control his anger. Seeing her hugging another man made him feel uncomfortable no matter how he looked at it.
He grabbed her chin and said, "I'll remember this." Then, in front of everyone, he lowered his head and kissed her.
After taking a few bites and feeling her obediently responding, he slowed down, kissing her while glancing up at the surprised people in front of him.
He Mei actually pushed his wife into another man's arms; it seems his parents-in-law really don't want to acknowledge him as their son-in-law.
Sun Xiaoming was both angry and resentful as he watched the two embracing and kissing. He was angry that the woman he admired was being openly embraced and kissed by another man, but he resented that he had no right to be angry.
He turned and glared at He Mei, who immediately understood and yelled at the two embracing, "Zhao Di, what are you doing? Aren't you ashamed with so many people watching?"
Upon hearing this, Gu Yueji looked up and first glanced at Ren Jin. He had his eyes closed as if he hadn't heard her. He then took her tongue and licked and nibbled at his mouth. The sensation was a mix of tingling and slight pain, and she obediently closed her eyes.
Ren Jin only slowly stopped when He Mei shouted angrily, pointing at them and about to rush over to separate them.
After burying her face in his chest to calm her breathing, Gu Yueji turned around and casually introduced him to He Mei and the others: "Mom and Dad, this is my husband, Ren Jin."
She did it on purpose. Since her mother knew that Ren Jin was there but still brought Sun Xiaoming over, it was clearly to cause trouble, so she wouldn't let her mother have her way.
Ren Jin glanced at the group and called out to each of them, "Dad, Mom." His tone was distant and cold, and he didn't even have a smile on his face.
He Mei exchanged a silent glance with Gu Nianwang, her anger burning inside her.
Today, Gu Yueji originally said she wanted to bring her husband home, which Gu Yueji disagreed with. However, Gu Nianwang said that since Gu Yueji refused to listen to them and divorce Ren Jin, they were thinking of starting with Ren Jin. They had already come up with a plan and even called Sun Xiaoming over, intending to make Ren Jin back down and take the initiative to file for divorce with Gu Yueji.
However, Ren Jin was not the poor and thin man they had imagined. He was tall and handsome, with a burly figure that almost filled the entire door frame. Just by standing quietly, he exuded an aura that made people feel intimidated.
He indulged in his own pleasures as if no one else was around, his arrogant and disdainful demeanor clearly showing that he didn't take them seriously, and it was obvious that they couldn't control him.
But they've already called Sun Xiaoming here, so this matter can't just be left like this today.
"Don't call us so affectionately. We've never acknowledged you as our son-in-law," He Mei said, adopting the demeanor of an elder, her tone sharp and sarcastic.
Ren Jin smiled faintly and nodded in response, "Okay, Uncle and Auntie."
The new form of address was easier to pronounce, and he didn't really think much about it anyway; Gu Yueji was still his wife.
He Mei and Gu Nianwang were even angrier when they heard this; Ren Jin was clearly not taking them seriously.
"Gu Zhaodi, look at the kind of person you've found. He's penniless, uneducated, and ill-mannered. I told you he's not even a tenth as good as Xiaoming."
Gu Yueji felt that her mother was being unreasonable. "Mom, what are you doing!"
"Didn't you already know what we wanted to do? I called Xiaoming over today, so we can all talk it out."
Ren Jin was taken aback. He had been expecting his future in-laws to bring back a strange man, and now they were pushing his wife into that man's arms. What did that mean? He was starting to understand the implications.
He looked down at Gu Yueji, pulled her up a little by the waist, and asked through gritted teeth in a low voice, "Gu Yueji, are you hiding something from me?"
Ren Jin hadn't called her by her full name in a long time. Gu Yueji felt a chill run down her spine and knew she couldn't hide it anymore. She pleaded in a low voice, "Don't be angry. I'll talk to you slowly later. Don't listen to my mother. What she says isn't my opinion. Just ignore what she says."
Ren Jin sneered, "I think you're just ignoring what I said."
She promised to tell him everything that happened to her, and it seems that her absence from home for so many days was because of this, but she hasn't mentioned it at all.
Feeling guilty, Gu Yueji couldn't explain herself, so she could only hug him tighter in a coquettish manner.
While Ren Jin was at home, she thought she'd talk about it again when she returned to G City. Yesterday, he suddenly appeared, and their brief separation felt like a honeymoon; the atmosphere was so sweet and intimate that she didn't want to tell him. Today, she brought him home to meet her parents, thinking they wouldn't be ashamed to let Ren Jin know they wanted her to marry another man, so she planned to tell him after they met them and she got home.
She just didn't expect her parents to do things that were getting more and more outrageous.
Seeing Gu Yueji's expression, Ren Jin became even more certain of his guess. He sighed inwardly and glanced at the people in front of him. "Uncle and Aunt, tell me, what exactly do you mean by this today?"
