After changing his shoes, he put the things he bought on the dining table, then took her suitcase and led her to the room. "We'll stay in this master bedroom. You unpack your things, and I'll go out and cook dinner."
As he reached the door, he turned back and said, "You can decorate the room however you like. If the closet isn't big enough, just take my clothes out."
Gu Yueji stood in the room for a while. Although his room was a bit messy, it was still clean enough, and there were no yellowed sweat stains on the pillows and sheets.
Opening the wardrobe reveals a typical men's wardrobe, with all sorts of clothes, socks, and underwear crammed inside, creating a chaotic mess.
She took all his clothes out and put them on the bed, folded them neatly, and then put them back in.
He didn't have many clothes, and even after organizing one side of the closet, it wasn't full.
I opened her suitcase, put my clothes inside, and gradually filled it up.
Sitting on the edge of the bed, looking at the closet filled with our clothes, men's and women's clothes, this is the beginning of our life together.
Thinking about it, Gu Yueji took the marriage certificate out of her bag and put it in the bedside table drawer.
When I came out of the kitchen, Ren Jin was still busy inside.
"Do you need any help?" Gu Yueji asked.
He turned around. "Are you done packing?"
Gu Yueji nodded. "Yes, is there anything I can do for you?"
He tossed the wok, "All that's left is this stir-fried lettuce, then we can eat. Go outside and wait for your meal."
Gu Yueji glanced at the pot and saw that the pieces of lettuce were the same size as the potatoes she had cut with a rolling cut. She smiled, turned around and left silently.
There were still supermarket shopping bags on the table. When I opened them, everything was still there except for the vegetables.
Gu Yueji started tidying things up again.
I put the food in the refrigerator, the cup on the coffee table in the living room, and the two hot boxes of Okamoto cigarettes in the bedroom drawer. Finally, I took the towel and toothbrush to the bathroom.
When she saw the toothbrush with bristles sticking out in all directions on the sink, she chuckled and threw it in the trash can. The only towel on the wall also had a hole in it. She took it down and used it to wipe the mirror and sink before throwing it in the trash can as well. Then she took apart the new toothbrush and towel, rinsed them with water, put them in the cup, and hung them on the wall.
Just as they finished tidying up, Ren Jin called out from outside, "Gu Yueji, dinner's ready."
Gu Yueji looked at the clean and tidy bathroom and replied, "Coming."
