Ren Jin left early the next morning. Qian Mingjun was coming from his hometown, and he was going to pick him up at the station.
Construction is about to begin, and Qian Mingjun and several other workers who are in charge of management have returned to the site one after another. Today, he went to pick up the workers and also went back to the site to check on the situation.
It had been almost two years since construction started, and the construction site was covered in a layer of dust. We needed to find someone to clean the office, and we had to buy new scrapped items. We were busy until evening before Ren Jin finally looked back at Yueji.
Covered in dust, Ren Jin went straight to the balcony to collect his clothes and take a shower as soon as he got back.
However, standing on the balcony and looking at the empty clothes rack, he froze. He opened his mouth to ask Gu Yueji a question, but then suddenly remembered something.
He turned around and went back into the room, pulling open the wardrobe that had previously been filled with Ye Zurong's clothes.
The plaid pattern on the clothes is all empty.
The wardrobe that used to be full of all kinds of men's clothing now contains the clothes that he used to hang out to dry on the balcony.
A few clothes hung loosely on the clothesline, yet they took up the entire wardrobe.
These items were newly bought for him by Gu Yueji. They weren't from big brands, but they weren't cheap either. The fabric was breathable and soft, just like his sneakers.
Thinking about what he's wearing now, including his underwear, everything from top to bottom was bought for him by Gu Yueji.
Ren Jin stared at the wardrobe for a long time and smiled.
That evening, Ren Jin showered Gu Yueji with affection, and afterwards, while holding her and drinking water, he asked her about it.
"How long will it take you to pay off your debts with what you're earning now?"
"If we can maintain these sales figures for the next two months, we'll be able to pay it off by the end of next year."
Ren Jin nodded in agreement.
Gu Yueji leaned against his chest and looked up at him, "What's good about it?"
Ren Jin didn't answer. He just lowered his head and bit her lip, staring at her little face that was contorted in pain. He secretly decided that he would tell her he was a contractor, not a food deliveryman, on the day she paid off her debts.

Having just finished paying off this month's debts, Gu Yueji lay in bed that night thinking about taking a day off tomorrow, as she hadn't had a break for months.
I glanced at the person next to me scrolling through their phone and asked, "Are you going out to look for a job tomorrow?"
Ren Jin has been going out every day lately. He said he won't be delivering food anymore and is currently looking for a job.
Gu Yueji was quite surprised at the time. Perhaps it was because she had known him since he was a food deliveryman, and she hadn't thought he had a regular job. She asked him expectantly what kind of job he was looking for, but he told her that he hadn't graduated from high school and didn't have much work experience, so he could only look for jobs like construction site work.
To be honest, she was disappointed.
She wasn't a love-struck fool; she didn't believe that love alone could sustain a relationship. Of course, she hoped Ren Jin had a high-paying, respectable job. But when she thought about herself, she felt she had no right to demand too much from others, since she didn't have one herself.
A classmate saw her livestreaming online and came to confirm if it was her, asking why she became a streamer and offering to help promote her and increase her popularity. She said all sorts of caring things, but her words revealed a sense of superiority from working at a big company. She said that her colleagues all wore designer brands, and the clothes she bought from her livestream could only be worn by her younger sister who was still in school.
As for Ren Jin, Gu Yueji thought that as long as the two of them were not afraid of hardship and worked together, things would definitely get better and better in the future. She just felt sorry for him, wondering if it would be too tiring for him to work on the construction site.
Little did they know that Ren Jin now wore a suit and drove a Land Rover every day, going to meetings with the managers of famous real estate companies in G City, and dining and drinking tea with various high-end clubs and earthmoving machinery bosses. His so-called job search on construction sites was just a lie he told so that he could openly go to construction sites later.
After she finished showering, she lay beside him in a clean, white nightgown. Ren Jin couldn't resist reaching out to pinch her cheek.
"Do you have anything planned for tomorrow?"
"No, I just want to take a day off. Do you want to go out with me?"
Ren Jinjian raised an eyebrow. The two of them had spent almost all their time together in this room and had never gone out together.
Nodding, "Okay, where do you want to go and what do you want to do?"
Gu Yueji's eyes lit up with joy. She had just been a little worried that he might not want to go out with her. "I haven't decided yet. Shall we get up early tomorrow and decide?"
She lay on the bed, her eyes sparkling as she looked at him, wearing a low-cut nightgown that revealed a dazzling expanse of white against her chest.
Ren Jin locked his phone, turned over and kissed him, "Okay, let's go to bed early tonight."
In November, G City finally no longer needed to turn on the air conditioner, but the cool breeze couldn't dispel the heat inside. The two of them entwined, drenched in sweat, until late at night.
The next morning, the two who said they would get up early lingered in bed until almost noon.
After things calmed down, Ren Jin patted her back casually, his fingertips twirling her hair. Gu Yueji's hair was fine and soft, and it felt cool and smooth like water when wrapped around his fingers.
Have you decided what you're going to do today?
Gu Yueji thought for a while, then looked up at him expectantly, "How about we go shopping first, have lunch, and then watch a movie in the afternoon?"
Ren Jin looked at her, puzzled. "That's it?"
She had been thinking about it for so long, he thought she would come up with something special.
"Otherwise, what do you recommend?" Gu Yueji rarely goes out, and she has no idea what fun places there are in this city. These are the only forms of entertainment she can think of.
Ren Jin quickly thought of a few places suitable for two people, relaxing and romantic, which Gu Yueji would probably like, but then he rejected them.
Getting to those places requires two things: a car and money. Gu Yueji had neither.
