Chapter 27 Give Your Husband a Kiss

He recalled his reply to the woman when she was getting an IV drip, "Didn't you say before that I wasn't your wife?"

He looked at her strangely, "You weren't like that before, were you? Didn't we just get our marriage certificate today?"

Gu Yueji was surprised by his traditional thinking. "You've never called anyone else 'wife' before?"

"Of course not, I've never been married, who would I call my wife?"

Hearing his answer, Gu Yueji suddenly felt that her previous anger had been for nothing, and she didn't know what she was arguing about back then.

Once in the elevator, Ren Jin noticed the woman glancing at them several times, and finally couldn't help but ask, "Is there something you need?"

The girl thought Ren Jin was a bit fierce and had never seen him before, so she could only ask Gu Yueji, "You live in 1503, right?"

Gu Yueji nodded, looking at the girl with a puzzled expression. She didn't know the girl and didn't know why she knew she lived in 1503.

The girl explained, "I live next door to you in apartment 1502. I just heard you say you got married today. Congratulations!"

Gu Yueji was surprised to receive congratulations from a stranger. After thanking her happily, she thought about bringing her a small gift when she got home.

But what the girl said next made her never want to see her again.

"I have a small suggestion," the girl said, blushing, and then lowered her voice as she continued, "Could you close the windows or keep the noise down tonight? Our neighbors can hear us very clearly."

Gu Yueji was a little confused at first, until Ren Jin burst out laughing.

She turned to look at him, and he smiled smugly, saying to the girl, "Don't worry, we're moving out today." Then he turned to look at her, his gaze ambiguous and intense.

The moment Gu Yueji realized what was happening, her face turned bright red, and she turned to face the corner of the elevator with a look of utter despair.

As soon as the elevator doors opened, she headed straight out, but Ren Jin stopped her, saying, "We're not there yet."

Gu Yueji ignored him, shook off his hand and left the elevator. Ren Jin chuckled and followed her out.

Gu Yueji felt hot and embarrassed, and dared not take the elevator again, so she turned around and walked to the stairwell next to her.

Ren Jin, however, wasn't satisfied. He followed her, nagging behind her, "I told you, you screamed so loudly last night you almost lifted the roof off."

Gu Yueji turned around and glared at him, "Aren't you ashamed? Others have already talked about it, and you're still so smug."

"What's there for me to be ashamed of? The fact that you can shout so loudly proves that I'm amazing. Your neighbor is just envious of you."

Gu Yueji couldn't be as shameless as him, so she couldn't continue talking to him. Resigned, she climbed the stairs, only to see the number 4 on the wall when she looked up, while they had to climb to 15.

When they reached the 12th floor, Gu Yueji was too exhausted to climb any further and wanted to sit down on the stairs, but Ren Jin stopped her, saying, "Let's climb up in one go."

Gu Yueji waved her hand breathlessly, "I really can't go on anymore, why don't you go up first?"

Ren Jin didn't even break a sweat, hands on his hips, smiling as he looked at her, "I left you on our first day of marriage, I don't want you to remember me for the rest of your life." As he spoke, he walked in front of her and bent down, "Come on, I'll carry you up."

Gu Yueji was taken aback, then tugged at him, "No need, I'll just rest for a while."

He grabbed her hand and pulled her onto his back, then carried her upstairs.

Gu Yueji wrapped her arms around his neck, rested her head on his shoulder, and looked at him, "Then put me down when you're tired."

He turned his head to look at her and smiled, but said, "It's not so easy to let go of a wife you finally married."

Although he seemed frivolous and impulsive from the moment they met until he proposed, she discovered that he seemed to be a traditional man when it came to marriage. He believed that a wife only became a wife after marriage, and that he would let her manage the household affairs after marriage. He also felt that he valued his partner highly after marriage.
