"You're already home?"
Xiao Yao saw Gu Yueji's WeChat Moments post, where she said she had gone home, so she called her.
"Yes, Ren Jin started work at the construction site, so we came back early." Gu Yueji had just had breakfast with Ren Jin that morning and saw him off.
Xiao Yao thought that their factory would not resume work until after the Lantern Festival, and there was still a week until the Lantern Festival, so she suggested, "Brother Jin has gone to work, what are you doing at home by yourself? Do you want to come to Yun City to play?"

Xiao Rou is the fashion designer in their factory. Gu Yueji had shown her the sketches she had drawn before, and Gu Yueji was quite satisfied with the designs she created based on those sketches. So she was even more confident in making couple's outfits.
Xiao Yao knew she couldn't persuade her, so she teased, "You're not coming because you don't want to leave, right? Looking at the pictures you post on your WeChat Moments, I never thought you loved showing off your love so much before?"
Gu Yueji was taken aback. "Did I show off my relationship?"
“Of course you have. You used to not post a single WeChat Moments post in a year, but lately you’ve been posting a photo of you and Jin Ge at least once a day. Some of your classmates were surprised and asked me about it.”
Gu Yueji felt a little embarrassed. She was not someone who posted much on WeChat Moments. For her, WeChat was just a communication tool. However, during her trip, she did post several times on Moments, and every single one of her posts included a photo of Ren Jin.
She retorted, "My husband and I are dating in a perfectly legal and reasonable way. What's wrong with showing affection in public?"
Xiao Yao retorted bluntly, "Then why didn't you show off your affection when you were dating Ye Zurong?"
Gu Yueji paused for a moment. It had been a long time since she had heard this name, and she hadn't thought of this person for a long time either.
When she was dating Ye Zurong, she was very poor. She was busy with her studies or part-time jobs every day, and she had no time or money to create romantic moments or take photos. “There’s nothing worth mentioning when I was with Ye Zurong,” Gu Yueji said calmly.
Xiao Yao knew that Gu Yueji no longer cared about Ye Zurong, so she didn't hold back and started gossiping with her.
"Actually, the classmate who asked me was Ye Zurong. I don't know who showed him your WeChat Moments, but that day he suddenly asked me how you were doing."
Gu Yueji was surprised that Ye Zurong would take the initiative to ask about her situation. Ever since he and his wife came to her door to ask her to repay the money, she had not heard from him at all.

I heard he’s not doing well at all. The child in his wife’s belly isn’t his. After he divorced his wife, his ex-father-in-law transferred him to a police station in a remote town. Gu Yueji listened silently, her heart unmoved. Everyone has their own life, and whatever the outcome, it is their own choice.
She said to Xiao Yao, "This person has nothing to do with me anymore. What happens to him is none of my business. I just feel a bit emotional. I've been with Ye Zurong for so many years. I used to think we would grow old together. I never thought that one day we would become so estranged, so estranged that I wouldn't even remember him if you didn't tell me."
After hanging up the phone, Xiao Yao pondered for a long time.

Seeing that he had changed into his outdoor clothes, she asked, "Where are you going?"
Xiao Yao lowered his head and straightened his collar. "Back to the factory."
"Isn't our factory supposed to reopen after the Lantern Festival? What are you going back for?"
"We're building a new production line, right? The workers are here to start construction today, so I'll go take a look."
Xiao Yao stared at Xiao Yao putting on his shoes for two seconds, then suddenly jumped up from the sofa, "Wait for me, I'm going too!"
Xiao Yao paused in his act of putting on his shoes, then frowned impatiently at her. "What are you going to do? What's so interesting about construction?"
Xiao Yao had already run back to her room, shouting, "I'll see how you squander Old Xiao's fortune! You wait for me!"
On the way to the factory, Xiao Yao acted like she was having a seizure, constantly finding fault with him. One minute the air freshener smelled bad, the next the pendant was ugly; she wanted to take them all down. Xiao Yao slapped her away.
