Ren Jin leaned back in his chair, irritably taking out a cigarette to light it, when his gaze fell on the hand on his leg. He turned his head to look at Gu Yueji beside him, who had been quietly keeping him company.
It's always been there.
He put the cigarette he had taken out back in, and took the hand on his leg, gently rubbing and playing with it.
Gu Yueji wasn't very clear about Ren Jin's past family affairs, so she couldn't say anything on his behalf. She could only silently accompany him. He took her hand, and she responded by squeezing it in return.
Ren Yayong knew he was in the wrong, but he was unwilling to give up. He started spewing all sorts of nasty words, while Zhao Juan and Ren Yaowei shouted from the side.
Gu Yueji saw Ren Jin frowning as they argued. He had come home late last night after socializing, and now he had to deal with this kind of trouble. She picked up her phone and said to Ren Yayong and the others, "Since you can't provide any evidence that the house is yours, please leave our house immediately. If you keep causing trouble here, I'm going to call the police."
Unable to do anything to Ren Jin, Ren Yayong turned to Gu Yueji and yelled, "This is our family matter, when did it become your place to speak!"
Ren Jin's face turned cold, and he sat up straight, blocking Gu Yueji behind him. "She's my wife. If she doesn't deserve it, who does?"
Zhao Juan snorted, "They're both ill-mannered. And what kind of good family could a woman marry a man like that?"
Ren Jin glared at her fiercely, "Try saying another word to her! She's not from a good family, so what kind of woman are you, clinging to someone else's home like a beggar!"
Her gaze swept over them, her tone both harsh and cold, "If I ignore you, do you think I'm scared?"
He really didn't want to deal with Ren Yayong and the others. He and Gu Yueji were living a fulfilling life, and he was in a good mood. He thought he could just talk to them nicely and send them away, but it seemed that he couldn't reason with these people.
