The boy's eyes flickered, he hurriedly apologized, and then disappeared into the crowd.
“I didn’t push him, he pushed me hard. How could I push a young girl with a child in her hand?” A woman quickly defended herself when she saw Su Nan looking over.
"Here, you take this. I'll take Sui Sui's hand." Su Nan handed the pastry box she was carrying to Chang Le and reached out to take the bewildered Sui Sui's hand.
"Don't be afraid with your second uncle here."
Sui Sui shook her head, "I'm not afraid."
He thought to himself that he would have to bring his little crossbody bag next time he went out, and if he encountered bad guys, he would let them taste his newly mixed itching powder.
The storm had passed, and Su Nan let Chang Le walk in front while he held Sui Sui's hand and followed closely behind her.
They walked along the way in places with few people. When they reached Guixiang Street, they stopped in front of a general store.
Seeing her distinguished attire, the shopkeeper greeted her with a broad smile and asked, "What would you like, young lady? We have everything you could possibly need. Please come in and choose what you like."
Chang Le didn't know how to choose firecrackers, so she looked to Su Nan.
Sui Sui instantly understood what his aunt meant. He pulled his little hand back from Su Nan's and looked up, saying, "Second Uncle, Auntie doesn't know how to buy firecrackers. She's waiting for you to buy them."
Su Nan said to Chang Le, "There's not much to choose from, just buy whatever you like."
Upon hearing that he wanted to buy firecrackers, the shopkeeper immediately turned around and took out a ring, placing it in front of Chang Le: "The firecrackers here are big and loud, absolutely none of them are mute."
"Okay, this is it."
Chang Le reached into her pocket, ready to pay readily, but after rummaging around in her pocket for a while, she still couldn't find her purse.
She looked at Su Nan awkwardly, "My purse seems to be missing?"
