Chapter 73 Ji Peiheng, you're just teasing me.
The morning light slanted in through the window, casting a warm glow on the bed. The man leaned against the headboard, his shoulders straight and showing no signs of illness. His slightly pale complexion made him appear even more refined and elegant.
With an IV drip in one hand and a laptop in the other, he occasionally issued work orders. His inherent aloofness and refined elegance remained undiminished by the hospital setting.
Some people are a sight to behold wherever they go.
Liao Nan stood by the bed, holding a pile of documents to be approved and official business to be handled.
Liao Nan spent the entire day by the bedside reporting on his work. Occasionally, a few men would respond with a few words of agreement.
Shi Yang sat in the chair in a daze, listening to the numbers and unfamiliar words they were using. He felt his eyelids fighting and he was getting sleepy.
Out of the corner of his eye, Ji Peiheng caught a glimpse of her head nodding lightly in the air, like a chick pecking at rice.
He made a gesture, and Liao Nan stopped talking.
Ji Peiheng got out of bed and walked to her side without her noticing.
She wore her hair in a bun today, propped her chin on her elbow, and was fast asleep.
Her pink lips smacked intentionally or unintentionally, as if she were dreaming of something delicious. Her lips parted slightly, revealing a glimpse of her small, white teeth. It felt as if a feather had brushed against his heart, leaving a ticklish sensation.
Warm golden light filtered through the swaying gauze curtains, casting warm hues on her, and even the strands of hair around her ears seemed to glow with golden light.
I watched as her chin slid down the back of her hand.
Ji Peiheng reached out and gently cradled her face in his palm.
Shi Yang jolted awake.
Ji Peiheng curled his lips, leaned down to look her in the eye, his peach blossom eyes were incredibly deep, and his voice was deep and seductive: "What kind of dream did you have?"
Shi Yang stared blankly at the handsome face that suddenly loomed large in front of her, and murmured, "I dreamt that my design won an award, and everyone was celebrating with me. We were cutting a cake."
Ji Peiheng's dark expression softened, and he glanced at her from the corner of his eye: "Humph, no wonder you were drooling."
Shi Yang's fair cheeks immediately flushed red: "You're talking nonsense, I never drool in my sleep."
"If you don't believe me, touch the corner of your mouth."
Shi Yang obediently touched it: "It's dry, you're lying to me."
The man's shoulders were shaking with laughter, and his eyes were full of joy.
Shi Yang realized she'd been tricked, her ears burning with embarrassment and anger. She kicked him in the shin, saying, "Ji Peiheng, you tricked me!"
Upon hearing this, Shi Yang was slightly taken aback.
Time rewinds frame by frame, freezing on a single image like a magnifying glass.
In the sweltering summer, the trees and forests are filled with the crisp chirping of cicadas, and the sound of students reading aloud can be heard from time to time in the classroom.
A girl in a school uniform sat under a tree on the playground, engrossed in reading a romance novel.
The stifling heat in the air made people want to doze off.
Shi Yang fell asleep.
She dreamt that she became the female lead in a novel and was kissing the domineering male lead.
Her lips were pouting.
What do you want to do?
A clear, cool voice rang in my ears, like a sweet spring flowing freely through a valley, like the only coolness in this summer.
She slowly opened her eyes, and a stunningly handsome young man cupped her face in his hands, looking down at her.
His eyelashes were long, and his eyes were as captivating as peach blossoms.
Shi Yang was stunned.
The boy squinted, pinched her pouting lips, and said in a low voice, "Who are you molesting in your dreams?"
His action made her face turn as red as a ripe apple, all the way to the roots of her neck: "You...really...you..."
She was both embarrassed and annoyed: "What are you doing here?"
"I happened to see you slacking off here during PE class."
The boy straightened up, lazily stretched, his school uniform tied loosely around his waist, not following the rules. He wore a white T-shirt on his upper body.
Perhaps feeling hot, he poured the entire bottle of mineral water over his head. The water droplets soaked his white T-shirt, making it stick to his body and appear transparent. The boy was youthful but not immature, with a smooth figure and thin abdominal muscles full of youthful vigor.
Shi Yang quickly looked away.
The boy said, "Hey, Shi Yang, do you know you drool in your sleep?"
"How is that possible?"
The boy held out his fingertips and waved them in front of her eyes; his two fair and clean fingertips were connected to a transparent liquid.
Extremely embarrassed, she stood up and kicked his hard calf: "Ji Peiheng! You're just teasing me!"
She ran away.
I was in such a hurry that I forgot to bring my books.
The faint sound of a boy's cheerful laughter drifted from behind...
Shi Yang suddenly realized that she seemed to have had many small things happen between her and Ji Peiheng in the past.
It turns out that the book on his bookshelf was the one she left behind back then.
She said, "Ji Peiheng, you can't fool me anymore. Ever since you made fun of me when we were in school, I've been very careful about my sleeping posture. There's absolutely no way I would drool!"
Ji Peiheng's eyes suddenly darkened: "You still remember?"
Shi Yang turned his head and snorted.
...
On the fifth day of my stay in the hospital
Ji Peiheng has been discharged from the hospital.
He disliked the smell of the hospital and requested to be discharged to work from home.
He's very busy at the company towards the end of the year, and when he gets home, he can spend the whole day in his study.
Aunt Cui secretly told Shi Yang that Ji Peiheng would even forget to take his medicine when she wasn't around.
Therefore, Shi Yang took a few days off to come back and supervise him taking his medicine.
When she returned that day, she took the medicine and water into the study.
Ji Peiheng was on the phone.
She sat down across from him at the desk and waited quietly for him to finish his call.
Just before he was about to make another phone call, she held his hand and pushed the medicine in front of him: "Drink your medicine first."
Ji Peiheng's brow furrowed imperceptibly: "I'm almost fully recovered."
"You're not afraid of hardship, are you?" Shi Yang used reverse psychology.
Ji Peiheng said seriously, "Taking medicine all the time isn't good for your health."
Shi Yang discovered it.
This man is simply afraid of taking medicine.
"You're not fully recovered yet, you must take your medicine!"
The way he looked at the pills seemed like he was looking at something disgusting and indescribable.
She hesitated for a moment, then blushed and whispered something in his ear.
Ji Peiheng's brow relaxed, and he looked at her with a half-smile: "Really? Whichever one I choose, you wear it?"
Shi Yang puffed out his chest: "I keep my word!"
Ji Peiheng tilted his head back and swallowed the medicine.
Shi Yang was truly surprised: "When I was sick the last few times, why didn't you complain about the bitterness when you fed me mouth-to-mouth?"
Ji Peiheng raised an eyebrow and smiled, "That's because you're sweet."
Shi Yang turned his face away.
This person is always flirting with her.
He asked, "Do you have any candy?"
Shi Yang found a piece of orange-flavored fructose and handed it to him: "Don't you dislike candy?"
Ji Peiheng chewed on the candy, his gaze towards her gradually darkening.
It was as if they had spotted some highly sought-after prey.
Will she be able to get out of bed tomorrow?
Shi Yang's heart began to waver: "Ahem, I suddenly remembered I still have a drawing to finish. You go ahead and do your work, I won't bother you..."
Before she could finish speaking, she was pulled back, and the man held her on his lap and kissed her.
His lips smelled sweet, like candy.
Shi Yang tasted even more sweetness from the tip of his tongue.
"I'm afraid you'll find it too bitter," he suddenly said.
Shi Yang was in a daze from the kiss, and it took him a while to realize that he was answering the question she had asked when she handed him the candy.
