Chapter 37 Photos in the Wallet
Shi Yang slept soundly for a long time.
When she woke up, Ji Peiheng was no longer by her side.
She yawned and drew back the curtains.
The most dazzling afterglow of the setting sun shone in, and she reached out to shield her eyes.
It's already so late.
She went to the desk, where there were some books that Ji Peiheng had read before.
Most of the books were about finance and business; she flipped through a few pages and then put them down.
For an art student, the dense array of numbers and formulas is the greatest cruelty.
I rummaged through the drawer haphazardly, then opened it. Inside was only a wallet.
The wallet looks a bit old-fashioned; it's a design from many years ago.
However, there is some wear on the edges, indicating that the owner used this wallet frequently in the past.
There is a wall in West Kau Yue dedicated to displaying Ji Peiheng's wallets, handbags, briefcases, and suitcases, each of which is expensive and brand new.
Because there are so many, each one may only be used once or twice, or some may not be used at all. Therefore, it is unlikely that any part will experience severe wear and tear.
She inexplicably felt that this wallet used to be very important to Ji Peiheng.
She opened her wallet, and inside was a photo turned upside down.
Intrigued, a man found a photograph in his wallet. What does that mean?
Her intuition told her that the person in the photo was most likely a girl.
Shi Yang was about to take it out to take a look,
At this moment, Ji Peiheng pushed open the door and came in: "Mom wants you to go downstairs."
His gaze fell on the wallet, narrowed slightly, and then looked away in an instant.
Interrupted
Shi Yang quickly forgot about the photo and put it in the drawer.
"Oh, I'll go down now."
Everyone was downstairs. Qin Lan was watching TV, while Shi Yue sat on the other side, actively trying to strike up a conversation.
Qin Lan's expression was aloof, and she responded to her words with a curt, indifferent tone.
Shi Yue was the first to see Shi Yang come downstairs, and feigned surprise, saying, "Yang Yang, you slept all afternoon?"
Qin Lan turned around, her previously cold face immediately becoming kind: "Yangyang is awake? How did you sleep?"
"It's fine, I just overslept without realizing it."
Shi Yang felt quite embarrassed.
There are many rules in wealthy and noble families. Although daughters-in-law who are treated like royalty don't have to do housework like servants, they are generally expected to serve their parents-in-law and keep them company. It's a bit inappropriate for them to sleep all afternoon.
Shi Yue was deliberately mocking her, hoping to make Qin Lan think that she was an incompetent daughter-in-law.
Qin Lan didn't care at all: "You're usually quite tired from work, so it's okay to sleep a little longer. Come and eat some fruit to replenish your vitamin C."
Shi Yue felt a surge of anger. She had served her diligently and carefully all afternoon, yet she hadn't received a single smile in return. But when Shi Yang arrived, she was all smiles.
Qin Lan said, "Yangyang, stay at the old house tonight and sleep there. You can leave with Pei Heng tomorrow."
"Mom, I have to go to work tomorrow."
“I’ll have the driver take you. Just stay one night. I’m getting old and just want to talk to you. You won’t even grant me this one wish?”
She turned her back angrily.
Shi Yang had no choice but to compromise: "Fine, I'll stay and keep you company, okay?"
Qin Lan immediately put on a smiling face: "You said it."
After the meal, the servants brought a bowl of soup separately for Ji Peiheng and Shi Yang.
Qin Lan said, "This soup is good for your health. You all have a lot of work pressure, so drink some to replenish your energy."
Ji Peiheng didn't think too much about it and reached out to pick up the bowl.
Shi Yang took a few sips and found the taste a bit strange. Ji Peiheng also noticed it: "If you don't want to drink it, then don't."
"fine."
Knowing that this was Qin Lan's thoughtful gift, she drank it all without leaving a drop.
Qin Lan watched intently as they drank all the soup, then smiled with satisfaction.
After dinner, Qin Lan yawned and said, "I'm tired and want to rest. You can do as you please."
Ji Jinyu escorted Shi Yue home.
Shi Yang agreed to stay and didn't leave.
At night, Shi Yang felt tired and lay sleepily in bed.
She wondered why she was still so sleepy after sleeping for so long in the afternoon.
Ji Peiheng was taking a shower in the bathroom.
For some reason, listening to the pattering water in the bathroom, a scene popped into her mind.
Water droplets gently rippled across his muscular chest, lovingly traced his well-defined abs, and flowed around his waist. Amidst the mist, the water caressed his beautiful V-line and the mysterious area below his abdomen.
Even the water droplets seemed reluctant to leave the man's perfect and exquisite body.
Thinking this, Shi Yang felt a surge of heat in her body. She shook her head, trying to shake off these blushing images.
The images in her mind didn't disappear; the excessively romantic actions and scenes they had shared before surfaced in her mind without any discrepancy.
She let out a heavy sigh.
Shi Yang buried her head in the blanket, feeling annoyed, wondering if it really had been too long since she had done it.
She told herself to calm down and forced herself to fall asleep.
Ji Peiheng took a long time to shower today. When he finally came out, the scent of his masculine hormones strongly stirred Shi Yang's heartstrings.
Ji Peiheng was drying his hair in front of the mirror when he saw Shi Yang, who was wrapped in a blanket and didn't make a sound.
He turned to look at her: "What's wrong?"
Shi Yang said listlessly, "I'm fine."
Ji Peiheng could tell something was wrong just from the voice.
Upon closer inspection, her face was flushed, her eyes were slightly closed, her eyelashes trembled, and her already pink lips were bitten, adding a touch of allure.
Looking at it this way, the desire that was hard to suppress in the bathroom just now surged up again.
He lowered his eyes, concealing the lust in them.
Are you alright?
Shi Yang opened her eyes, her gaze slightly watery, and said with a wronged expression, "I don't feel well, I don't know what's wrong?"
Her aggrieved and delicate voice, her lips moving in and out, was like a silent invitation.
Ji Peiheng's fingertips rubbed together heavily.
He lowered his eyes, and Shi Yang couldn't see the deep, dark light in them, as he looked at him pitifully.
Ji Peiheng suddenly lowered his head and kissed her.
This intense and passionate kiss felt as if he wanted to tear her whole body apart and devour her.
Shi Yang complained about his intensity while simultaneously craving more, her arms constantly clinging to his neck.
Just when she thought everything would fall into place, Ji Peiheng released her and said in a hoarse voice, "There's something wrong with that soup."
ah……
Shi Yang was momentarily bewildered. The soup was given to him by Qin Lan. Why would she do that?
Ji Peiheng immediately realized what his old mother was trying so hard to do.
Shi Yang panicked: "Then what should we do?"
She nestled in his arms, breathing heavily, when his teasing voice came from above her head: "What else can we do?"
She looked up at him, his smile laced with an indescribable charm: "We're husband and wife..."
"Of course we should do what husband and wife should do..."
"I can't let my mother's good intentions go to waste..."
