Chapter 23 You're such a good person

Lin Qingyan opened her suitcase. About half of the space inside was filled with books, and the rest was just a few sets of clothes. She had thrown away anything she didn't need when she packed her luggage.

The box wasn't too big or too small, but he still had some difficulty lifting it because the books were quite heavy.

I don't know how Gu Fei was able to carry it up dozens of steps so easily without changing his expression.

He had noticed that the man had a slender and well-proportioned physique, not the muscular type. His tall and upright figure was pleasing to the eye, and he could feel the very even muscle lines through his clothes, suggesting he was very powerful.

...

Lin Qingyan froze, realizing what he was thinking. He quickly shook his head to clear his mind of the jumbled thoughts and silently felt ashamed of his ideas.

He took his change of clothes out and walked quickly into the bathroom, which was large and had a jacuzzi that could seat two adults against the wall.

Lin Qingyan had no interest in relaxing in the bathtub, so he took a shower instead. The sound of rushing water filled the bathroom, and the boy's fair and slender body was hidden in the steamy space. The curves of his body still showed signs of youthful immaturity.

Meanwhile, in the master bedroom on the other side, the same sound of running water could be heard. The bathroom door was closed, and the man stood under the showerhead, wiping his face with his eyes closed. The wispy bangs on his forehead were casually swept back. It was a very perfect face, handsome, dashing, and mature.

Warm water droplets flowed down the well-defined jawline, tracing the prominent and sexy Adam's apple and collarbone. His healthy, light tan skin revealed well-defined muscle lines, and his eight-pack abs were sexy, firm, and incredibly powerful...

Lin Qingyan guessed correctly; Gu Fei definitely belongs to the type who looks slim in clothes but has a muscular physique when undressed.

Ten minutes later, Gu Fei came out of the bathroom wearing a black silk robe. Her short hair was still dripping wet, and the V-neck design made her chest appear and disappear. Paired with her aloof face, she was both ascetic and sexy.

The man's hair was short, and it dried quickly with a hairdryer. Normally, he would have gone to bed to rest after doing that, but now he stood silently with the hairdryer in his hand for a while, seemingly deep in thought.

A moment later, he put down the hairdryer, turned around, opened the door, and went out.

A few minutes later, Gu Fei came up from the kitchen downstairs with a cup of hot milk in his hand. He stood in front of Lin Qingyan's door with the milk in his hand, his pale lips slightly pursed, and he knocked on the door with his slender fingers.

"Mr. Gu?" Lin Qingyan was stunned when she opened the door. Her gaze lingered on the man's face for two seconds before she lowered her eyes slightly, her eyes landing on the man's barely visible chest.

...

"Uh... Is there something you need?"

Gu Fei had already prepared an excuse for himself: "Drinking a glass of warm milk will help me sleep better." As he spoke, he handed the glass of milk he was holding to the boy, gesturing for him to take it.

A hint of surprise flashed in Lin Qingyan's eyes. After hesitating for a moment, she reached out and took the milk, politely and earnestly thanking the man.

The spot in his palm was warm, and so was his heart.

He didn't know why Gu Fei was so good to him.

But that didn't stop him from being touched by these small gestures from the man, because there were very few people in this world who were truly good to him.

From Gu Fei's perspective, all he could see was the boy holding a glass of milk in both hands, his eyes slightly lowered, his thick, long eyelashes trembling gently, looking quite adorable.

The boy looked like he had just taken a shower. The weather in Nancheng was still quite hot. He was wearing loose black shorts that reached about ten centimeters from his knees, and a white sleeveless vest on his upper body. His long, straight legs and slender arms were exposed to the air.

His clothes were clean and neat, which suited his age.

Gu Fei thought the boy's skin was even whiter and more delicate than the milk he was holding.

Lin Qingyan was slender, and the vest he wore was very loose. Gu Fei glanced at him unintentionally and even caught a glimpse of the hidden scenery underneath through the wide neckline.

...

The man subtly shifted his gaze to Lin Qingyan's left arm, frowned slightly, and asked, "How did you get your arm like that?"

"What?" Lin Qingyan followed the man's gaze to her arm and noticed several faint bruises, about the size of a thumb, which looked like they had been made by someone's hand.

He quickly remembered that he had refused Li Heng's offer to sign a contract at the coffee shop that afternoon, and Li Heng had chased after him, very angry, and had even grabbed his arm forcefully.

I guess this is how these bruises were caused.

He has no sense of pain, so of course he couldn't notice it, especially since it was just a minor injury. Lin Qingyan didn't take it seriously and smiled indifferently, "I must have bumped into something when I wasn't paying attention. Don't worry about it, it'll be fine in a couple of days."

Gu Fei was silent for a few seconds before saying two words: "Wait." After saying that, he turned and left. A few minutes later, he had an ice pack in his hand.

Lin Qingyan held the cup in both hands and stood obediently at the door waiting for him. However, the milk in the cup was almost half gone. Gu Fei had never seen such an obedient person before.

"Come inside and sit down, I'll put an ice pack on you."

“Mr. Gu, this is too much trouble for you. I'm not in any pain at all, really, it's not necessary…”

"Sit down."

The man's flat tone now carried an undeniable forcefulness, and Lin Qingyan ultimately didn't refuse again, not wanting to upset him, so she sat down on the sofa in the room.

Gu Fei sat next to Lin Qingyan, gently applying an ice pack to the boy's arm. He simply didn't want to see the scars on the boy's fair arm, as they were an eyesore.

Looking at the man's serious profile, Lin Qingyan couldn't help but say, "Mr. Gu, you are such a good person."

Gu Fei pursed his lips, clearly not intending to engage. He neither agreed nor disagreed; he wasn't kind to everyone.

Time passed quietly. The two were close together, and Gu Fei noticed two small holes in the hem of the boy's vest, which looked like it had been worn for quite a while.

Lin Qingyan's suitcase was still open. Gu Fei glanced over and noticed the books that took up half of the suitcase. They looked like study guides.

"You didn't go to school?" Gu Fei suddenly asked.

At nineteen, he should be in college. How could he be sitting alone on the street, homeless, eating malnutrition-laden steamed buns, dressed in tattered clothes?

The boy's life was very difficult.

"I dropped out of school a few months before the college entrance exam."

Lin Qingyan smiled indifferently.
