Spring and Autumn Period

Spring and Autumn Period

"I didn't expect that the world in different places would look so different." Wherever Indra saw, there was a scene of people enjoying themselves. He had never seen such a scene before and couldn't help but sigh.

"Here, the human race, the demon race, the ghost race, and the celestial race can actually trade with each other in a friendly manner, sell goods, and exchange cultures... How is this possible?"

"Why don't you take another look?" Ashura did not answer him directly, but just stood by his side with his arms folded.

Indra walked up to a vendor selling jewelry and spotted a piece of translucent red amber. He beckoned Ashura over and said, "It's the color of your eyes, Ashura."

Ashura waved his hand and said, "Then pack them all."

"It is a great honor for you to patronize us, Lord Ashura!" the merchant said excitedly.

Indra, however, became suspicious. He felt that the merchant was too enthusiastic towards the Asura. He asked seriously, "This is not the human world. Where have you taken me?"

"This is the human world you desired," Ashura said calmly. "This is also the empire I built."

"Why..." There was an answer in Emperor Shitian's mind that was about to come out, but he suppressed it in his heart. He wanted to ask in person and get the answer from him.

"I call this place Peach Blossom Land. Come with me." Asura took Indra's hand and walked in one direction.

The merchant stuffed the wrapped amber stone into Indra's arms, and also gave him a few colorful ropes that could be used for weaving. He winked at the two of them and squeezed Indra's palm hard.

Indra felt something was wrong, but he couldn't figure out what was going on.

He looked at Ashura's tall and strong back thoughtfully and said nothing.

After walking a little further west, the streets were still filled with joy and harmony, with everyone wearing contented smiles. The two stopped in front of a lotus pond, their long hair ruffling in the breeze.

Indra twisted his fingers around the amber stone, deftly transforming it into a necklace. Indra placed it around Asura's neck, but he was so tall that he had to stand on tiptoe to reach it.

That resolute face did not look ferocious as the world saw it, but rather innocent and cute.

"What are you laughing at again?" Ashura saw him staring at her for a few seconds, and a gentle smile appeared in his eyes, this time from the heart. Although very happy, he was still confused.

Sometimes he could see through Indra at a glance, but sometimes he could not figure him out at all.

"The human race has to go through many years before it can see the Spring and Autumn Period, but a useless person like me has already seen it." Emperor Shitian smiled and sighed, shaking his head.

"You are not the kind of person you describe in your humble words. How do you know that you are not the one that others cannot live without?" Ashura said seriously.

After a moment of silence, Indra said softly, "Asura too."

"What?" Ashura was surprised. "Were you just saying something nice about me?"

"In my heart, Ashura is my only true friend." Indra said slowly, "My... Ashura."

Asura couldn't stand hearing such straightforward words, and his heart suddenly felt hot and unbearable. In his eyes, Indra was a delicious delicacy, and he couldn't help but want to taste it.

"It would be great if all the celestial beings in the world were like you." Ashura sighed.

"What, Asura wants other close friends?" Indra turned his head.

There was an unknown bitterness in his tone, but it caused Asura's heart to fluctuate greatly. He enjoyed the feeling very much, but was afraid that Indra would be really angry, so he hurried to explain.

"No, I mean, just one Indra is enough."
