Shi Jing wasn't afraid at all about taking the test again.
After the homeroom teacher agreed, Shi Jing readily agreed to retake the exam to prove his innocence.
The re-examinations needed to be carefully scheduled. After all, she still had to attend classes; she couldn't skip all her classes to take the exams, and besides, there wouldn't be enough time to finish them all. It was already the last period of the morning, and after the three teachers discussed it, they arranged for the re-examinations to be held in the afternoon. Shi Jing would come to the office first to take the Chinese, Math, and English exams.
We'll see how these three subjects go before scheduling the next exams.
Shi Jing had no objections and readily agreed.
At lunchtime, Jing still ate alone, with no one around her.
Halfway through the meal, another familiar voice rang out.
Shi Jing sighed helplessly, put down his chopsticks, and looked at the person who had come in.
"Lin Lu, please sit down."
Lin Lu looked rather uncomfortable as she pulled out the chair opposite the mirror and sat down.
Besides feeling uncomfortable, there was also a hint of curiosity on his face.
She asked, "I heard your homeroom teacher called you to the office. What did he do?"
Shi Jing answered truthfully.
After hearing this, Lin Lu exclaimed "Holy crap!" and asked incredulously, "So you agreed?"
After saying that, she seemed to have been greatly insulted, and her whole demeanor turned sour.
Shi Jing explained, "My homeroom teacher promised me that if my grades didn't drop after the exam, he would apologize to me and vouch for me."
"You believe him?"
"That's not important. What's important is that with three teachers supervising the exam, surely no one will think I could cheat," Shi Jing replied with a smile.
Her goal was actually very simple: to resolve this matter quickly and give her some peace and quiet, so that they would stop watching her all the time.
After speaking, she looked up at Lin Lu, who had been speaking to her politely all day.
"Why are you alone? Where are your two friends?"
"They have their own things to do; they can't keep following me around forever," Lin Lu said. "What? You're not happy that I came to talk to you?"
"No, I'm just curious." Shi Jing shook his head.
As long as this person doesn't slam their fist on the table or glare at her the moment they appear, and speaks normally, she doesn't mind.
Lin Lu glared at her irritably, looking rather downcast. The two weren't close, so Shi Jing didn't ask what was wrong and continued eating her meal.
After a while, Lin Lu asked again, somewhat annoyed, "What's wrong with you lately? Are you eating at the cafeteria every day? Have you run out of your allowance?"
Based on the original owner's spending habits, she had more pocket money than she could spend each month, so she could naturally afford to eat at the cafeteria. But now, Shi Jing has to carefully calculate how much money she spends.
Shi Jing had almost finished eating, so he put down his chopsticks and looked at Lin Lu.
In a few days, everyone will probably know about this, and she doesn't feel there's anything to hide.
"My parents are divorced, and I live with my mom."
She spoke calmly, as if she were simply asking what to have for lunch.
Lin Lu looked at her in disbelief, her eyes conveying three words: That's it?
Shi Jing shrugged and continued calmly, "It's nothing, I'm not a child anymore."
Upon hearing this, Lin Lu not only didn't say anything unpleasant, but gradually revealed an attitude of appreciation. This greatly puzzled Shi Jing.
Lin Lu said, "If you stop bothering Jiang Lin in the future, you'll actually look quite likable now."
It's unclear whether her sentiments stemmed from admiration for Shi Jing or joy that Shi Jing was no longer bothering Jiang Lin.
"Alright then. Do your best on the exam this afternoon and try to slap them in the face."
"Alright, I appreciate your kind words," Shi Jing replied.
After lunch, at the appointed time with the teachers, Shi Jing took her stationery to the office. All three teachers were already there, along with some other teachers from other subjects who had come to observe after hearing the news. However, to avoid putting too much pressure on Shi Jing and affecting her performance, Director Li sent them all to other offices.
The exam began, and Shi Jing started with the Chinese exam. She finished it in an hour and a half, then moved on to math. She was quite talented in middle school math and finished it in less than an hour. Afterwards, she went to the restroom and returned to the English exam.
I managed to finish the exams for all three subjects before school ended, just before 5:30.
She immediately arranged for someone to grade the test paper she had just finished. Although she had just finished the English test and the other subjects hadn't been tested yet, the calculated scores had already made her homeroom teacher's face turn green. She got 106 points in Chinese and a perfect score in math.
Director Li looked at the graded exam papers with great satisfaction, then glanced at Director Yu, whose expression was not very pleasant, and said with a smile, "Director Yu, it seems that Shi Jing has already proven his ability."
"There are still a few subjects left to complete..."
"Alright," Director Yu interrupted. "Although there are still a few subjects to be tested, the Chinese, Math, and English scores are enough to prove Shi's abilities. Go to class tomorrow and clarify the rumors with your classmates."
The implication was that they didn't want Shi Jing to continue taking the exams. The grades already graded were excellent, so there was no point in her taking any more.
"Uncle...Director, I..."
The homeroom teacher was about to say something more when Director Yu glared at him fiercely.
"It's getting late, don't delay the students from leaving school." After saying that, Director Yu looked at Shi Jing, "Student Shi, you should go home early too."
Seeing this, Director Li was in a good mood. Shi Jing didn't get involved, nodded in agreement, and went straight back to the classroom.
Most of the students had already left the classroom, leaving only a few cleaning staff. They looked at her with slight curiosity upon seeing her return, but no one came over to ask her anything. Instead, someone was standing outside the classroom – it was Lin Lu.
Shi Jing looked into the classroom; Jiang Lin was not there, he must have already left.
What's going on with this person? Why is he at their classroom door?
Perhaps it was Shi Jing's suspicious gaze that offended her, because she suddenly became a little angry.
What are you looking at?
"It's nothing." Shi Jing withdrew his scrutinizing gaze. "Are you looking for someone?"
"Who are you looking for? I'm waiting for you."
"Waiting for me? What's up?"
"What else could it be?" Lin Lu was speechless with frustration. "Didn't you go to the office for an exam this afternoon? How did it go?"
So that's what it was about. Shi Jing was both amused and exasperated, not expecting Lin Lu to be so curious. But there was nothing wrong with telling her; even if she didn't, everyone in the class would find out tomorrow, and Lin Lu would always manage to find out anyway.
"106 in Chinese, perfect score in Math, English hasn't been graded yet."
"Damn, you actually passed the exam on your own." Lin Lu exclaimed in surprise.
"What else?" Shi Jing glanced at her irritably. "Alright, now that you've satisfied your curiosity, hurry back. I need to pack up and go home too."
"Tsk, boring. I'm leaving."
Lin Lu forced a smile, finding Shi Jing's calm demeanor utterly boring, and turned to leave. Shi Jing ignored her, heading back to her seat to retrieve her bag.
Having resolved one matter, Shi Jing was actually in a good mood. However, there was no need to show off in front of her classmates; she could keep it to herself.
"God of Wealth, how about it? I'm pretty awesome now, haha." There's no need to be reserved in front of the system.
"Yes, yes, keep up the good work. Avoid arrogance and impatience," the system replied dismissively, speechless.
After spending a long time together, the system's emotions have become much richer, and it often reveals some emotions that only humans have.
Shi Jing often couldn't help but treat him as her own family, and she felt relaxed and comfortable around him.
