He Wan came to find him in the early hours of the morning. After He Wan left, he quickly went into his cellar to look for money.
After leaving his place, He Wan didn't go anywhere else. She decided against wandering around the streets and alleys, since she wasn't familiar with the area.
I wanted to visit Ting'an at the military base, but unfortunately they weren't in the city. I had enough time to go there and back, but I would have to come back within an hour or two, otherwise I would miss the transaction with Mawei. I wandered around Chuncheng and had breakfast.
I went to the department store in Kunming again, but I didn't really plan to buy anything. I just bought a little bit of whatever I saw that looked nice.
While browsing on the first floor, she came across some nice brocade, a two-tone jacquard one, with brocade yellow and pink flowers, and a cloud pattern one. She thought it would look great in clothes, so she bought some for Lao Yun.
When I got to the second floor, I saw a clothing store and picked out two pieces for myself.
Two pairs of cargo pants and a sweater. Although I don't lack clothes, I want to buy whatever I like.
After wandering around for a while, it was already past ten o'clock. As I left the mall and headed towards the transaction location, I bumped into a hard, fleshy body. Before I could even look up, I heard a familiar voice: "Comrade, are you alright? I... He Wan?"
He Wan rubbed her forehead and looked up to see Zhou Ting'an: "Brother Ting'an." What a coincidence.
Zhou Ting'an was clearly surprised to meet He Wan in Kunming and asked with a smile, "Wanwan, what are you doing here?"
“I was doing something for the village and was passing through Chuncheng. Brother Ting’an, you’re off today? Luckily I didn’t go to see you.”
Zhou Ting'an smiled and nodded, then said to his two colleagues beside him, "This is my sister. You two go ahead and shop around. We'll meet at our usual spot later."
The two colleagues standing nearby gave an "oh" and looked at He Wan meaningfully, saying, "So you're Platoon Leader Zhou's sister. Okay, we won't bother you anymore."
They walked towards the mall, laughing and talking like good buddies.
He Wan noticed something was off about their tone, but that wasn't her focus. She smiled and asked, "Ting An got promoted?"
Zhou Ting'an smiled a little shyly and nodded: "I did a great job last time, and it's all thanks to you. You're going to stay here for a few days. I'm off today. I was thinking of buying you some things and mailing them to you, but it's perfect timing since we've run into each other. Come on, what do you want? I'll buy it for you."
Seeing that Zhou Ting'an was about to take him into the mall, He Wan quickly stopped him and said, "I only have one morning, and I have to leave at noon. Besides, I'm going to Haicheng next, so it's not convenient to bring too much stuff. And I don't need anything."
When Zhou Ting'an heard that she was going to Haicheng alone, he became a little worried.
He quickly pulled her to a less crowded place and asked her for a general idea.
“I went there alone last year. I know people at the pharmaceutical factory there, and the product I gave you was obtained from there.”
Zhou Ting'an was mainly worried about her safety, and He Wan reassured him repeatedly before he felt at ease.
I checked the time; it wasn't even noon yet, and the restaurant wasn't open.
Zhou Ting'an really wanted to take her out for a bite to eat, but he didn't have the chance.
So I took her to the mall and bought her some pastries and candies to take with her.
"What time is your train? I'll give you a ride."
"No need, no need, I can go by myself."
Seeing her aloof attitude, Zhou Ting'an coldly asked, "He Wan, do you even acknowledge me as your brother?"
He Wan was taken aback: "Yes, I admit it."
"Shouldn't I give it to you? You're being so formal, it makes me feel like you don't really want to acknowledge me as family."
