Sang Jiang didn't know why she was angry with Long Jingchen. She only knew that she was extremely upset because Long Jingchen actually wanted her to find that woman.
However, Sang Jiang wasn't foolish enough to cause trouble for herself. She followed the willow tree as she jumped into the river and walked forward, looking around and asking people nearby for directions.
Sang Jiang wiped the sweat dripping from her face, not knowing how long she had been walking. She could tell it was probably noon by now.
She touched her stomach, looked around, and then randomly chose a restaurant and went inside.
"Sir, how many of you are there?"
“Alone.” Sang Jiang looked around; there weren’t many people in the restaurant.
"Alright, please follow me." The waiter led Sang Jiang inside.
Sang Jiang glanced at the menu and casually ordered a few dishes.
The overall taste wasn't particularly good, but the portion was huge, and since Sang Jiang isn't picky about food, she ate it with great relish.
Halfway through the meal, the waiter suddenly came over carrying a jug of strong liquor: "Sir, this is our restaurant's specialty, please try it."
Sang Jiang looked up at the wine pot and said, "I'm sorry, I don't drink alcohol."
She didn't know what she would be like when she was drunk, and she didn't dare to get drunk alone.
The waiter smiled and said, "Don't worry, sir, this is plum juice, not alcohol. It's a complimentary item."
"Sour plum drink?" Sang Jiang's eyes lit up. She took the wine pot from the shop assistant and said, "Thank you."
"Enjoy your meal at your leisure," the waiter said with a smile as he left.
Sang Jiang poured herself a cup and first smelled it; it did indeed smell like sour plum juice.
After confirming that everything was okay, she took a big gulp. It was sweet and sour, slightly more sour than what she had drunk before, but it tasted very good.
She couldn't resist taking a few more sips.
When the pot of plum juice was almost empty, Sang Jiang suddenly felt a headache. She rubbed her head and slowly leaned down on the table.
...
Sang Ruo had been restless ever since Sang Jiang was called away by Long Jingchen. She had been waiting at the corner of the corridor, and when she saw Yang Qi, she immediately went up to him.
"Eunuch Yang, where is Fourth Sister?" Sang Ruo asked anxiously, pulling on Yang Qi's hand.
Yang Qi looked at her and waited for him to finish before speaking: "She...she was just sent by the Emperor to find Miss Yang."
"Looking for Miss Yang? What happened?!" Sang Ruo asked, somewhat flustered.
Before Yang Qi could speak, Kou'er tearfully recounted to Sang Ruo everything he had learned.
Sang Ruo frowned deeply: "His Majesty, he..."
Sang Ruo shut her mouth as if she had thought of something.
She glanced at Wanting and Kou'er beside her and said in a panic, "You two go find her quickly."
Wan Ting nodded: "This servant will go right away."
Kou'er ran out without even responding.
She couldn't understand why the Emperor would blame her young lady for such a woman.
Meanwhile, in Long Jingchen's room.
After Sang Jiang left, he was restless and uneasy. Seeing his irritable state, An Ye quickly distanced himself from him.
He put down the book in his hand, then picked it up again after a while, then put it down again, then picked it up again, repeating this process many times. After that, she simply put down the book and poured herself a glass of water.
He spat it out immediately after taking just one sip.
"Yang Qi!" he called out irritably.
After a while, when Yang Qi still hadn't returned, he remembered that he had driven Yang Qi away.
He threw the cup in his hand in frustration.
