Sang Jiang woke up at noon and squinted her phoenix eyes to adjust to the bright sunlight.
She sat up and saw Kou'er excitedly packing her things. Sang Jiang jumped off the bed in a fright.
Hearing the sound, Kou'er turned around and looked at her. She blinked and asked excitedly, "Can we go now?"
Kou'er didn't understand what she meant by leaving for a moment, so she nodded in agreement.
Sang Jiang's eyes lit up immediately, and then she suddenly seemed to remember something and pinched her thigh.
"Hiss~" The intense pain instantly snapped her awake: "I'm not dreaming!"
"Miss, what are you doing!" Kou'er pouted in dissatisfaction.
Sang Jiang couldn't resist pinching her little face. Although Kou'er wasn't quite as fair-skinned as before, she was at least a bit chubby. Her face was especially soft and felt very comfortable to pinch. Sang Jiang raised her eyebrows and pinched her a couple more times before letting go.
As soon as she was released, Kou'er began to protest: "Miss! Kou'er won't grow any taller!"
Sang Jiang raised an eyebrow and looked at Kou'er with amusement: "What does this have to do with growing taller?"
"Hmph." Kou'er snorted with a hint of arrogance: "An Ye told me that if my cheeks are pinched too often, I won't grow tall."
"Dark Night?" Sang Jiang frowned. "Who is that? I've never heard of her before."
Kou'er's ears turned slightly red: "I mean, a guard who often keeps watch with me at night."
"Guards? How could I not know that?" Sang Jiang looked at Kou'er with a probing gaze, the playful look in her eyes revealing her gossipy nature.
"Oh dear!" Kou'er put down her bundle. "What are you saying, Miss!"
"Hehe." She laughed and ran up to Kou'er: "Tell me quickly, is Dark Night handsome? Does he have eight-pack abs? How tall is he?"
"Miss!" Kou'er stamped her foot and ran out.
Sang Jiang frowned slightly, stroking her chin with one hand, wondering what kind of demon An Ye was.
"Keep watch?" Sang Jiang muttered softly. So, wouldn't she know if she just sneaked over to check in the middle of the night?
Thinking of this made her feel even better. The gloom brought by Long Jingchen yesterday was swept away. She was immersed in the joy of being able to leave the palace tomorrow all day long, until dinner time.
She was enjoying the meal when she overheard what Sang Ruo had just said.
Sang Jiang put down her chopsticks and looked up at Sang Ruo: "Wait, what did you just say? What are we going to do tomorrow?"
Sang Ruo put down her chopsticks and looked at her blankly: "Southern tour? What's wrong? Haven't you always wanted to go on a southern tour?"
Sangjiang: ? ? ?
So she's not leaving the palace to return to the Prime Minister's residence, but rather to go on a southern tour?
So, she was happy all day for nothing?
"What's wrong?" Sang Ruo waved her hand in front of her when she saw that she didn't react for a while.
Sang Jiang waved her hand away and put down her chopsticks listlessly. She waited for Sang Ruo to finish her meal and then went straight back to sleep.
Before leaving, Sang Ruo kept reminding her to get up early the next day.
Sang Ruo glanced at Sang Jiang, who looked indifferent, rubbed her temples, and turned to Wan Qing beside her: "Go and call her tomorrow."
Wanqing: ...
Can she refuse?
The thought of waking up this sleeping god gave her a headache.
After returning home, Sang Jiang couldn't sleep. She tossed and turned in bed, and the more she thought about Long Jingchen's attitude, the more resistant she became to going on the southern tour with him.
If I were with him every day, I'd either be driven crazy by his annoyance or freeze to death by his cold, lifeless face. I don't know who he's trying to impress.
She glanced out the window and suddenly remembered what Kou'er had said during the day...
