"Xiao Yi, what's wrong?" In order to make things easier outside, I no longer address Xiao Yi as Your Highness.
However, after Nan Wusi called Xiao Yi, he ignored her and went straight into the inn.
Xuan Li, who had followed, whispered to Nan Wusi, "Miss Nan, please don't ask. Just now, the Prince was molested by a woman on the street and was almost tied up and taken back."
"What!" Nan Wusi exclaimed in surprise. He hadn't expected the atmosphere in Qiwu County to be so bad. Not only were there people forcibly abducting women, but there were also people forcibly abducting men.
"Do you know the woman's identity?" Nan Wusi asked.
“According to the local people, the woman is the county magistrate’s daughter, and she’s used to being domineering,” Xuan Li replied.
"I didn't expect another county magistrate." Nan Wusi muttered to himself. It seems that the magistrate of Qiwu County is really corrupt and has probably become a king in this county.
Thinking of Xiao Yi's experience, Nan Wusi no longer cared about his attitude, after all, anyone would be in a bad mood if they encountered such a thing.
"So how did you finally resolve it?" Nan Wusi asked curiously.
"The prince ordered me to beat that woman up," Xuan Li answered honestly.
"Well done." Nan Wusi nodded, surprised that the two of them had encountered similar situations and even their ways of dealing with them were so similar.
After understanding the situation, Nan Wusi walked to the table where Xiao Yi was sitting. They were all waiting for Nan Wuyu to return.
"Xiao Yi, don't be too angry. I just encountered a similar situation," Nan Wusi comforted him.
"What! You actually ran into them too? These people have such audacity!" Nan Wusi didn't expect that Xiao Yi would become even angrier after she spoke up.
"How did you do it?" Now that Nan Wusi is back, it proves that the person must have failed.
"Of course, we'll beat them up," Nan Wusi replied with a smile.
"Have you found out who the other party is?" Xiao Yi asked again.
“Yes, he’s said to be the nephew of the magistrate of Qiwu County,” Nan Wusi replied.
"I never expected that the magistrate of this small county would act so eccentrically. He is truly unworthy of being a local official."
"Should we intervene?" Nan Wusi asked again, feeling that they didn't seem to have the right to interfere. Even though Xiao Yi was a prince, he couldn't interfere with the appointment or dismissal of local officials.
After hearing Nan Wusi's words, Xiao Yi also fell silent. If he really intervened, it would inevitably give some people something to hold against him. But if he didn't intervene, things would be hard to say what would happen next.
Just as the two were discussing, Nan Wuyu returned to the inn. As soon as he entered the inn, he saw Nan Wusi and Xiao Yi sitting very close together, whispering to each other, which made him furious.
"What are you talking about?" Nan Wuyu asked expressionlessly.
"Second Brother, you're finally back! Let me tell you, Xiao Yi and I just ran into some trouble." Nan Wusi then recounted what had just happened to them, without embellishing anything.
Even so, Nan Wuyu was furious. He wished he could drag the magistrate out right now and see how he would continue to act as an accomplice to evil.
However, before he could take any action, the inn was already surrounded by government troops.
"Cousin, what are you doing here? What happened to your face?" a woman's shrill voice rang out.
"Cousin, I'm here to arrest someone. What about you? How did you end up like this?" the man asked in surprise.
“Perfect timing, I’m here to arrest someone too,” the woman replied.
"That's perfect, let's go together." The man said as he walked into the inn, where he saw Nan Wusi and his group.
Nan Wusi and the others looked at them coldly, never expecting that these two would be so audacious as to bring along soldiers who were supposed to serve the people.
"Arrest all of these people," the man ordered immediately, not wanting to delay at all.
If he had only wanted to play around with Nan Wusi before, now he just wanted to capture these people and torture them to vent his anger.
Seeing this, the other guests around quickly hid, as this wasn't the first time they had witnessed these two spoiled brats grabbing people like this.
The innkeeper hid to the side, secretly cursing his bad luck. He never expected that these outsiders would actually provoke the tyrant of Qiwu County.
Nan Wuyu and his companions naturally wouldn't sit idly by and wait to die; they all started fighting with the government troops.
Although both Nan Wusi and Nan Wuyu were skilled in martial arts, they still struggled against so many people. Xuan Li simply stayed by Xiao Yi's side and only addressed a few soldiers.
Fortunately, the guards who were resting in the room heard the commotion and rushed to their aid with their weapons. The situation was instantly reversed, and the soldiers were now surrounded.
Nan Wuyu walked up to the fair-faced man and said, "Take us to meet the magistrate of Qiwu County."
The man, with a knife to his neck, was so terrified he almost wet himself. Naturally, he dared not resist and obediently led the way.
Nan Wuyu and his companions followed behind, intending to meet with the magistrate of Qiwu County.
"Second brother, would it be of any use for us to go to this magistrate?" Nan Wusi asked quietly.
"Don't worry, little sister, this magistrate's good days are over today." Nan Wuyu's tone was cold; he had no intention of letting these people off so easily.
When they arrived at the yamen, the guards saw the scene and immediately went in to inform the county magistrate.
Nan Wuyu and his companions stood at the door, waiting for the magistrate to come out.
The magistrate of Qiwu County rushed to the entrance of the yamen and shouted, "Who is it that dares to be so insolent in front of the government!"
The magistrate saw the miserable state of his daughter and nephew, his face contorted with rage, and glared fiercely at Nan Wusi and his companions. Then, more soldiers surrounded them.
Nan Wuyu showed no fear whatsoever and asked directly, "Are you the magistrate of Qiwu County?"
"I am here. Who are you, you scoundrel? State your name!" the magistrate said, pointing at Nan Wuyu.
Nan Wuyu took out a token from his pocket, which read "Imperial Envoy" on it.
Upon recognizing the token, the magistrate of Qiwu County immediately knelt down with a loud thud, saying, "This humble official greets Your Excellency."
"Yes, let's go in and question him." Nan Wuyu stepped into the gate of the government office.
Meanwhile, Nan Wusi was still in shock. Someone had to tell her how her second brother had suddenly become an imperial envoy. This wasn't mentioned at all in the original text.
Upon entering the government office, Nan Wuyu and Xiao Yi sat at the head of the table, while the magistrate of Qiwu County stood below, trembling with fear. He saw his daughter and nephew being pressed down and naturally knew that these two good-for-nothings had caused the trouble.
He was filled with fear and regret, wondering how he had let these two cause such a huge disaster.
"What should I call you?" Nan Wuyu asked the magistrate of Qiwu County.
"My name is Zhang Jian," Zhang Jian replied.
"So it's Lord Zhang." Nan Wuyu looked at him, then asked, "Do you know these two people?"
"These are my unfilial daughter and nephew." Zhang Jian didn't deny that he didn't know them, and then cautiously asked, "It's all my fault for not disciplining them properly. May I ask what trouble they have gotten into, sir?"
