Chapter 124 Escape

Nan Wusi snapped back to her senses, looked at the assassin rushing towards her, and swung the whip in her hand again.

Now, Nan Wusi wielded the whip with great power, and the large knife wrapped around it became a sharp weapon, killing or wounding the assassins.

Even so, the number of assassins did not seem to have decreased at all, and people continued to attack Nan Wusi one after another.

Namo Si signaled to the injured Namo Yu to withdraw from the battle to avoid being accidentally injured.

Then he saw Xuan Li being attacked by a group of assassins, so he rushed to her rescue.

Now, these guards are either dead or wounded, and they are basically no longer able to fight. Only Nan Wusi and Xuan Li are left to hold on.

After Nan Wusi rushed over, she began to disperse the assassins around Xuan Li. She saw Xiao Yi next to Xuan Li and took a step to his side.

"What are you doing? Why aren't you making a move?" Nan Wusi asked Xiao Yi in a low voice.

Xiao Yi looked at Nan Wusi with his white eyes and replied in a low voice, "This king cannot make a move."

"If you can't help, what are you doing here? Go stand over there." Although Nan Wusi knew that Xiao Yi had his reasons, he was still speechless at Xiao Yi's current behavior.

Since they don't intend to make a move, why are they staying in the battleground, afraid of becoming a target?

"Okay," Xiao Yi said after a moment of silence.

Just as Nan Wusi was relieved to deal with the assassins, someone suddenly lunged at her.

"Be careful." With that, Xiao Yi blocked the blow for Nan Wusi.

When Nan Wusi saw Xiao Yi with a slash on his back, he was instantly shocked, "Are you out of your mind?!"

Nan Wusi grabbed the knife on the whip and slashed at the charging man, cutting his throat open.

She had no time to worry about the discomfort she felt after killing someone. She pulled Xiao Yi over and checked his injuries.

Although the wound wasn't deep, it was a long gash, and blood instantly stained Xiao Yi's white robe red.

"Your Highness!" Xuan Li, who was standing nearby, rushed over when he saw Xiao Yi injured.

The three are now surrounded by the group of assassins, and the situation is not optimistic.

Looking at the current situation, Xuan Li said, "Your Highness, Miss Nan, we are outnumbered and outmatched. Continuing this stalemate will be very disadvantageous for me."

Nan Wusi frowned, feeling that Xuan Li's words made some sense. Although they could still cope now, as time went on, when they were exhausted, they would become fish on a chopping board, at their mercy.

"Xuan Li, do you have a solution?" Nan Wusi asked. Since Xuan Li brought it up, he must already have some ideas.

“The surrounding mountains and forests are dense. If we hide in the mountains, there might still be a chance of survival.” Xuan Li said to Xiao Yi, “Your Highness, I plan to go and get reinforcements.”

Xiao Yi nodded after hearing this and said, "Let's break through."

"Miss Nan, I'm entrusting my master to you!" Xuan Li said to Nan Wusi after seeing that Xiao Yi had agreed. They had people planted in various states, and the only way to resolve the current crisis was for him to go and get reinforcements.

Although their prince is blind, he is extremely skilled, so Xuan Li is not too worried about his safety. It's just that his absence is a bit of a hassle.

So the three of them seized an opportunity and broke out towards the mountains and forests.

After the three rushed out, Xuan Li took the lead and ran in one direction, while Nan Wusi shouted, "Second Brother, run!" signaling Nan Wuyu to run towards the mountains and forests.

Seeing Nan Wusi's gesture, Nan Wuyu naturally guessed their plan, so he also nimbly disappeared into the forest.

After the group fled into the mountains, they encountered more obstacles. Nan Wuyu fled while moving closer to Nan Wusi and Xiao Yi, while Nan Wusi focused on pulling Xiao Yi along as they escaped.

Now, Nan Wusi is not running alone, but with Xiao Yi, who is invisible and injured, so their speed is somewhat slowed down, and the assassins are chasing closely behind.

After constantly changing directions and making many turns, Nan Wusi and his group managed to escape their pursuit by taking advantage of the landslide and the cover of the bushes.

However, this is only a temporary escape; these killers will surely continue to hunt them down in the mountains and forests.

After temporarily shaking off these people, Nan Wusi became worried about his second brother. Although he had given Nan Wuyu a hand signal, they had been some distance apart when they fled, so they were now forced to separate.

Namo Si could only pray in his heart that his second brother would be blessed by heaven and be able to reunite with them smoothly.

Nan Wusi led Xiao Yi to find a place to hide and take shelter, and marked the route.

Only Namo Yu knew the meaning of this mark; it was something Namo Si and Namo Yu had discussed before setting off.

Because Nanwusi didn't know what kind of situation they would encounter, he made all sorts of plans, including how the two of them could reunite using the markers if they were separated.

At the time, Nan Wuyu laughed at Nan Wusi, saying that he only made these things for fun and peace of mind. It was only under Nan Wusi's strong insistence that he reluctantly memorized them. He never expected that they would actually come in handy today.

Nan Wusi could only hope that when he called her Second Brother Ji, he hadn't been perfunctory; otherwise, even if she had marked him, Nan Wuyu would have had a hard time finding them.

Finally, Nanwusi found a relatively secluded cave. The entrance was quite spacious, but there were traces of something being dragged, suggesting that some animal lived inside.

Nan Wusi gripped the knife tightly in his hand, lest he be powerless to resist if he encountered a ferocious beast inside.

After pulling Xiao Yi inside, Nan Wusi smelled an unpleasant odor, like a mixture of blood, rot, and feces.

Both of them frowned in unison; the smell was just too overpowering.

Nan Wusi tore off a piece of his clothes and put it on his and Xiao Yi's faces to slightly cover up the pungent smell.

The cave was very spacious and deep, and it took Nan Wusi and his companions some time to slowly walk inside.

However, there were no wild beasts in the cave, only carcasses and a deer that had not yet finished eating.

It's getting late now, so the beasts in the cave must have gone hunting.

Namo Si continued walking in, and the passage became narrower and narrower until it was only wide enough for one person to pass through at the very end. However, after passing through that narrow opening, it widened again.

"Xiao Yi, there's an underground river here," Nan Wusi said with delight. This place wouldn't be bad as an escape route.

After they had explored the area, Nan Wusi planned to return the way they came. However, just as they were about to reach the cave entrance, Nan Wusi heard a series of hurried footsteps.
