Chapter 15 Yuhan is missing
This was the first time in a long time that Lu Fengqing had heard the little guy say more than four words in one breath.
You know, this little guy rarely even says four-word phrases.
As seen in the rearview mirror, the little guy is holding a small cake in both hands, his eyes are closed, and his expression is serious and devout.
Lu Fengqing's hands tightened around the steering wheel, and her voice unconsciously softened: "Why does Rui Rui suddenly miss her mother?"
Rui Rui said in a muffled voice, "Children's Day, Dad, Mom, the show."
Children's Day is just around the corner, and the teacher asked parents to come to the kindergarten to perform.
Lu Fengqing understood. "When we get back, your aunt will call your dad and ask him to come to the kindergarten to perform for Children's Day."
Rui Rui shook her head, "Daddy's busy."
After he finished speaking, he lowered his head and began to eat the small cake seriously, seemingly unwilling to say anything more.
Seeing him like this, Lu Fengqing was at a loss for what to do.
She has never raised children before and is not very good at soothing them.
Rui Rui is more sensible than many children his age and doesn't cause adults too much worry. When he suddenly showed sadness, Lu Fengqing didn't know what to do.
To cheer up the little one, Lu Fengqing got out of the car and bought a kids' meal when they passed by KFC.
The little guy still didn't seem very happy after receiving the kids' meal.
Lu Fengqing had no other choice but to return to Xinghe first.
Security is very good in Xingheli. People who are not familiar with the area are not allowed to enter without a resident's escort or a key card. All unauthorized personnel are not allowed to enter.
Lu Fengqing saw the familiar figure standing by the roadside, drove over, and rolled down the window.
"What's up?"
Seeing her younger sister again after only one day, Lu Fengqing had mixed feelings.
The Lu family had many boys, and only two girls, her and Lu Yuhan. When she first returned to City A, she thought about getting along well with her only sister, but she wasn't the type to easily warm up to others, and Lu Yuhan was always hostile towards her. In the end, she had no choice but to give up and treat them as ordinary relatives.
Over the years, their relationship was neither good nor bad, and she never imagined that she would resort to such a vicious scheme to plot against her.
Lu Yuhan's eyes were red and swollen as she stared intently at Lu Fengqing. "Now everyone knows that I shamelessly seduced my future brother-in-law. Azhou won't talk to me, my brother wants to send me to Y City, and neither my mom nor my dad will help me. Are you satisfied now?"
Lu Fengqing's gaze turned cold, and the last bit of compassion vanished without a trace.
"And what about you?" Lu Fengqing asked her, "Are you satisfied now?"
Lu Yuhan didn't say anything.
Lu Fengqing continued, "I suppose they're not satisfied."
Lu Yuhan didn't remain silent for long. "Grandpa and Grandma both love you, and your brothers spoil you even more. Everyone outside knows that you are the eldest daughter of the Lu family, and I am nothing. I've been with A-Zhou for so long, but he still doesn't like me. He even broke up with me for you... What is it about you that I don't have?"
Lu Fengqing almost burst out laughing when she heard these words.
Lu Fengqing admitted that her elders and brothers did love her more, but that was because she had no parents and they felt sorry for her.
As for Tang Xingzhou, Lu Fengqing really couldn't understand, "Tang Xingzhou wronged you, so you went to settle accounts with him, why are you taking your anger out on me?"
Lu Yuhan angrily said, "You knew I liked him, yet you still got engaged to him!"
"..."
Lu Fengqing found her younger sister's thought process strange, but still explained, "I didn't know. I only found out after the engagement."
Lu Fengqing asked again, "Did you tell me?"
She didn't.
Even when they meet on ordinary days, Lu Yuhan never takes the initiative to chat with her.
Lu Yuhan fell silent.
Lu Fengqing shook her head, "Forget it, why should I tell you so much?"
She doesn't even treat her like an older sister, so why would she need her as a younger sister?
Lu Fengqing restarted the car, and Lu Yuhan quickly rolled up the window and asked loudly, "How did you leave the night before last?"
Lu Fengqing smiled faintly, "How else can we leave? Of course, by walking."
Lu Yuhan glared at her, "You know perfectly well that's not what I was asking!"
Lu Fengqing smiled faintly and slowly said, "Are you referring to the fact that you drugged my wine?"
Lu Yuhan's expression changed, and she said with a stiff face, "I don't know what you're talking about."
Before Lu Fengqing could speak, she asked in a hoarse voice, "Did you send out those photos last night?"
"What photos?" Lu Fengqing's gaze lingered on the phone in Lu Yuhan's hand for a second, a mocking smile playing on her lips. "If there's nothing else, I'll head back now. You should also go back and pack your things, and say goodbye to your friends before you leave."
After all, once they leave, they don't know when they will be able to return.
After saying that, Lu Fengqing brushed away Lu Yuhan's hand that was pressing on the car window and drove into Xingheli.
Lu Yuhan watched the car disappear from sight, her heart filled with resentment and unwillingness.
She underestimated Lu Fengqing.
That person has already been dealt with by her brother and won't have the chance to appear in front of them again. Now that Lu Fengqing has lost something that can threaten her, she specially came over to try and get information out of Lu Fengqing, thinking that she could record it and then go to the hospital to cry her heart out to her grandfather so that she could stay in City A. She didn't expect Lu Fengqing to be so wary.
Lu Yuhan resisted the urge to smash her phone, turned off the recording app, and was about to turn around when she suddenly felt a pain in her neck and shoulder.
Suddenly everything went dark, and I lost consciousness.
...
Rui Rui, who had been silent all along, suddenly said, "I don't like it, Auntie."
Lu Fengqing asked, "Why?"
Rui Rui pursed her lips. "Auntie, I don't like it, Auntie."
Lu Fengqing was stunned.
Because Lu Yuhan doesn't like her, he doesn't like Lu Yuhan?
Lu Fengqing was touched. "Rui Rui loves his aunt so much. He will definitely be a sweet little man when he grows up."
Rui Rui nodded and hummed in agreement.
That evening, Lu Fenghe called. Lu Fengqing was about to talk to him about Children's Day when she heard Lu Fenghe say in a deep voice, "Yuhan is missing."
“She came to see me at Xinghe in the afternoon, and left not long after.”
Lu Fengqing paused, then added, "She has her phone with her; we can try to locate her."
It sounded like someone called out to Lu Fenghe on the other end of the phone. Lu Fenghe replied with a "Okay. I'm hanging up now," and then hung up immediately.
It happened so fast that Lu Fengqing didn't even have a chance to mention the Lu family business or Children's Day to him.
When Lu Fengqing looked up, she met Rui Rui's curious gaze, and a feeling of guilt and nervousness welled up in her heart.
Fortunately, the little guy didn't ask any more questions and went back to watching cartoons.
Lu Fengqing secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
After putting Rui Rui to sleep that night, Lu Fengqing turned on her computer and went online to search for news about the Lu family. She quickly figured out what was going on.
It seems that the Lu family invested in a large project, but due to certain reasons, the project can no longer continue. Not only has the money invested gone down the drain, but they will also incur a huge debt and face bankruptcy.
The situation is so dire, yet the elders still have to find time to deal with her messy affair with Lu Yuhan, and they've so decisively canceled the marriage alliance with the Tang family.
No need to guess, it must have been her maternal grandfather's idea.
Her maternal grandfather doted on her the most.
Lu Fengqing took a deep breath, forcing herself not to think about those predetermined things, and continued to browse through the recent news.
A recent announcement from the Gu Group regarding changes in its senior management caught my eye.
