Chapter 46 Willing to Sleep Peacefully in Reiner's Arms (1/2)

"Could it be that Pierre Craig, the man we've been looking for, is dead?"

Junice came over to take a look and decisively kicked the two rotten corpses aside: "Reiner, this thing is not a human, it's a ghoul."

"Ghoul?"

Martina took off her helmet, her forehead covered in sweat. "I forgot to mention this thing just pounced on me, but I didn't think much of it and just hacked it to death."

"That's all."

Reiner squatted down in front of the corpse and bravely turned it over.

Although the corpse had been gnawed beyond recognition, one could still vaguely tell that it was a middle-aged adventurer in his thirties or forties.

"Not the one we're looking for."

Junice nudged the corpse with her staff and saw that it was still flexible. "He looks like he died not long ago. Perhaps the person we are looking for is nearby."

Then, she used Fireball to ignite the corpse: "Try to dispose of the corpses in the ruins, otherwise they will turn into ghouls after a while."

Reiner quietly wrote down what she said, and then took Nora's little hand.

The corpses around her made her so uneasy that her body couldn't stop shaking.

"Don't be afraid, I'm with you."

"I'm not scared." Nora still insisted.

She didn't know that the voice of her heart was like a cannon, drilling into Reiner's ears all the time.

"Can you smell any other adventurers?"

Nora shook her head: "I can't smell it, but I can still look around."

Reiner looked around.

It was pitch black, and I had no idea what time it was outside.

She felt that after so much trouble, it was probably evening now.

"Junis, should we take a break or keep looking?"

"I'll listen to you." She shrugged.

Although Reiner wanted to find the adventurer and then return to claim the reward.

But seeing that Nora was not in good condition, he was worried that something might happen if he continued like this, so he decided to take a break.

The four of them found a fairly sturdy old stone house nearby. After checking to make sure there was no danger, they sat inside to recover their strength.

Nora didn't have a good appetite. After taking a few bites of the black bread, she put it in her waist bag.

"Still feeling bad?"

Noila Mo still said stubbornly: “It’s not uncomfortable.”

"Just tell the truth. I don't like others showing off." Reiner said seriously.

Nora was slightly stunned and her voice softened.

She said pitifully, "It's a bit uncomfortable."

Reiner asked Junice, "Can sleep help with her condition?"

"It's possible, but can she sleep in this environment?" Junice looked up and around. The ceiling, which was often not cleaned, was covered with cobwebs.

Occasionally, you can see insects the size of a palm scurrying back and forth in the shadows.

If memory serves, Nora isn't actually afraid of bugs.

But after being mentally disturbed, she became afraid of insects.

"My dear, I don't want to sleep..."

Nora muttered softly, and then her inner voice drifted over.

(If you sleep like this, you’ll get bitten by these bugs.)

Reiner narrowed his eyes, took off his arm guards, plate armor, and chain mail one by one, and patted his chest.

"Take off your plate armor and sleep with me."

Nora shook her head: "I...I can't sleep."

(Martina and Junice were watching, it was so embarrassing...)
