Chapter 48: No Chanting Magic (1/2)

Pierre covered his face with his hands and suddenly burst into tears.

"What's wrong?" Reiner asked puzzledly.

But this guy just cried and didn't answer when asked, just kept us in suspense.

Reiner hadn't rested all night, and fatigue had made him lose his patience.

He patted Pierre's shoulder and said, "Don't cry. Come back with me. Your father is probably still waiting at the guild."

Pierre lowered his head and said: "I killed them..."

Several people looked at each other.

"Companions?"

Pierre nodded. "I was a coward... I was so scared at the time that I took out a dagger and stabbed Reina in order to save my life. Eric was killed by the ghouls to protect her! I'm a bastard!"

Reiner was speechless for a moment.

It seems that the dead man and woman were Pierre's masterpieces.

"Why is this happening! I'm such a scumbag! A waste! I'm useless!" Pierre tore his hair hard.

Junice, who was standing nearby, asked, "How many people were there when you entered?"

"Seven! Seven living people!"

Pierre seemed to remember something. He suddenly raised his head and grabbed Reiner: "Necromancer! I saw the Necromancer! He is chasing us!

And there are Skeleton Knights! Swarms of Skeleton Knights! They're about to emerge from the ruins! We need to tell everyone!"

"Really?" Reiner asked back.

But Pierre suddenly started singing, looking crazy.

"What's wrong with him?" Reiner asked Junice.

"I don't know. Logically speaking, he should have returned to normal after leaving the ruins."

Looking at Pierre running around, Reiner sighed.

"It must be because he didn't get enough sleep. Let him sleep a little longer."

As soon as he finished speaking, Martina knocked him unconscious with a shield.

Reiner carried him towards the city.

After entering the city, head to the Adventurer's Guild.

The old farmer stood at the door with his hoe on his shoulder, and seemed to have been waiting for a while.

Seeing Reiner's figure, he ran over without hesitation.

After confirming that it was Pierre who had been missing for several days, a smile appeared on his rough, dark face for the first time, but he soon realized something was wrong: "Mr. Reiner, you are indeed a reliable adventurer, but Pierre..."

"He was a little confused after coming out of the ruins. I asked him to calm down for a while. He should wake up soon."

The old farmer carefully took out the magic book from his backpack and handed it to Reiner with both hands: "Thank you. If there is nothing else, I will take him home first."

Reiner nodded, opened the magic book and looked at it for a few seconds, then put it away after confirming that it was correct.

Then he took out a gold coin from his purse and handed it to the old farmer.

The old farmer's eyes flashed, and he asked in disbelief: "Mr. Reiner... this is..."

"Your wife is sick, and Pierre isn't doing well. He might not be able to work for a while. Take it. You need the money."

This magic book is almost free, so this gold coin can be considered as a help to him.

"Thank you, Mr. Reiner. I will definitely remember your kindness..."

After the old farmer left, Reiner took out five gold coins and stuffed them into Junice's hand.

"What's this for?" Junice blinked in confusion.

"I can't let you accompany me on this trip for nothing, can I?"

"Since you've already helped others, you don't need to help me. Of the gold coin you just gave me, half is mine, as a reward for your guidance."

Reiner nodded: "Alright, I'll treat you to dinner another day."

He reached out and rubbed Nora's cat ears, then prepared to turn and leave.

But after taking a few steps, he was grabbed by the waistband by Junice.

"I still have a friend to look for you, don't leave yet."

Reiner yawned again, tears welling in his eyes, "What's wrong?"

"Outside the city."

Junice took Reiner out of the city and came to the lawn where they often studied together.

Martina was obviously exhausted. As soon as she arrived, she took off her armor and lay down on the grass to sleep.

"We're here, what's going on? It's so mysterious."
