Junice went straight to the point: "Reiner, show me the fireball technique again."
Reiner raised his staff and a fireball ignited the grass in the distance.
Then he added another water balloon and extinguished it immediately.
"What's wrong?"
Junice's eyes widened. "Where's your chanting? You cast magic without even chanting the spell?"
"So that's what you're curious about. I've read it."
Junice puffed out her cheeks and squinted at him: "You're talking nonsense. I don't think you've even moved your mouth."
Reiner explained seriously, "I recited it in my mind."
When he first learned magic, he also chanted the spells honestly.
Over time, he felt that chanting during battle was too slow, so he wanted to see if he could reduce the number of magic spells.
Start by just cutting down on one or two insignificant words.
After seeing that the magic could still be released intact, he began to gradually reduce it.
From the initial ten words, it was finally reduced to one or two.
Seeing that he could still release it, Reiner finally stopped saying it out loud and just continued to recite it quickly in his mind.
It takes Junice about four seconds to release a fireball, but he can release it in one second.
"Teach me." Junice winked.
Reiner sighed and began teaching on the spot.
But Junice's situation was completely different.
After reducing the vocabulary, even the most basic fireball spell cannot be cast.
"These spells were all developed by our predecessors. If even one word is missing, the magic will fail." Junice shook her head and looked at Reiner with a hint of confusion.
"You didn't recite it in your mind?"
"Yes."
"That's probably because you don't believe in this method and think I'm fooling you." Reiner yawned and lay on his side on the grass. "If you believe it, it exists. If you don't believe it, it doesn't exist. If you don't believe it, it won't work."
Junice was stunned for a moment, and seemed to have an epiphany.
Close your eyes and try it devoutly.
A few hours later she actually fell asleep.
She shortened a few words and cast a fireball.
Junice looked at the flames burning in the distance in disbelief and muttered to herself, "It really is..."
Reiner just accompanied her in practice, and the day passed quickly.
Seeing that it was getting late, he prepared to go back.
At this moment, the system's voice sounded in my ears.
[Mission: Preliminary exploration of the ruins in the south of Melode
Current status: Completed
Mission Reward: Already Issued]
Five heavy silver coins appeared in Reiner's palm as promised.
After putting it in the purse, the system voice sounded again.
[Quest Update: Kill the Necromancer in the ruins.]
[Task Reward: Ten Gold Coins]
Come back to life.
䥍Based on the experience gained from the last battle with the Goblin Priest.
This guy is probably not an easy one to deal with.
Reiner saw Junice still pondering the non-chanting magic, and waited until she was a little free before asking, "Junis, have you ever seen a necromancer?"
She sighed deeply, seeming to have temporarily given up on learning non-chanting magic. "Are you worried that what Pierre said is true?"
"Of course, after all, we only have one life."
Junice fell into deep thought and shook her head gently: "I've heard of it, but I haven't seen it. At worst, we can just not go to the ruins for the time being and observe and see what other adventurers who have gone there say."
"OK."
Junice stood up and brushed the dirt off her butt: "It's getting late, I should go back, see you tomorrow."
"See you tomorrow!"
Reiner yawned, patted Nora's butt and prepared to go home...
