Chapter Sixty-Five: Blisters from Grinding

Although the three little ones weren't seriously injured after falling into the trap, Ning Huan couldn't reach them even with her outstretched hand when she saw the deep pit.

The two babies were terrified and huddled together tightly.

Da Bao's foot was clearly swollen quite a bit, but he still endured it without uttering a sound.

The three little ones, covered in dust, looked up at Ning Huan. The second and third little ones, who had just been shouting for Ning Huan, were now too afraid to utter a sound.

Ning Huan had been telling them not to run around, but now they've not only run far away, but they've also gotten into trouble and fallen into such a deep pit.

They're definitely going to get yelled at, and might even get a severe beating.

Ning Huan anxiously looked around and noticed long vines hanging down from a large tree.

If we cut these vines, we can make ropes, and then we can use them to catch the three little dumplings by pulling them down into the pit.

Thinking of this, Ning Huan put Xiao Sibao off her back and then hurriedly ran over with a machete to cut the vines.

Although her machete was for chopping firewood, the vines were hanging in the air, so she couldn't get any strength to chop them. It was more like she was cutting them apart bit by bit rather than chopping them.

I don't know when, but my hand was cut by the hard tree trunk, and a lot of blood flowed out.

Ning Huan finally cut off a few sections of vine and secured them firmly, but when she looked down, she found that they were still not long enough.

Only Da Bao could reach the vine. Just as Ning Huan was about to cut another section of vine, Da Bao came up with an idea.

He stood on the ground, and his two younger children stepped on his shoulders so they could reach him.

However, this would make Da Bao's already injured foot even more bad.

Neither Little Treasure nor Little Three Treasure was willing to step on Big Treasure, but Big Treasure said sternly, "Hurry up and go up. Now is not the time for us to dawdle. If that bad woman gets angry and leaves us here, then none of us will be able to leave!"

Upon hearing this, the second child didn't hesitate, while the third child murmured, "Mom would never abandon us!"

Xiao Erbao first helped Xiao Sanbao step onto Dabao's body, and Ning Huan began to pull the rope forcefully.

The trap was very deep, so it took Ning Huan a while to pull the three little ones out.

Ning Huan, however, felt that the original owner's strength was almost exhausted. Although she had lost a lot of weight during this period, she had been running around as a form of exercise and her body had become much stronger.

Having just gone up the mountain to gather herbs, carried the four little treasures so far to find the three little dumplings, and cut down a lot of vines, I was almost exhausted by the time I pulled the three little treasures up.

And there were Da Bao and Xiao Er Bao at the bottom of the pit. Thinking of this, Ning Huan gritted her teeth and pulled Xiao Er Bao up.

Besides the wounds from the vines that I just got, my hands are now covered in large blisters from pulling my babies.

Da Bao helped Xiao Er Bao and Xiao San Bao upstairs, but his own foot hurt even more. He looked down and saw that it seemed even more swollen than before.

But he endured the pain and used his feet to reach the vines.

Because Da Bao was the biggest of the four little ones, Ning Huan had to pull Da Bao even harder, but she was almost out of strength.

Seeing Ning Huan drenched in sweat, Xiao Sibao also pulled up the vines to help.

But as soon as he pulled up the rope, he felt a weight that he couldn't bear, so he had no choice but to let go.

Although Xiao Erbao and Xiao Sanbao had just been pulled up and hadn't quite recovered yet, they saw Xiao Sibao's actions and looked at Ning Huan, who was struggling to pull the rope.

The two little ones looked at each other and then pulled on the ropes behind Ning Huan.

Just as the group struggled to pull Da Bao up, Ning Huan collapsed to the ground.

The second child hugged the first child tightly, and the third child hugged the fourth child. All four little ones were very scared.

Little Sibao asked in a low voice, "Brother Sanbao, how did you guys end up in here?"

Little Sanbao glanced at Little Erbao, then whispered, "We were so engrossed in picking wildflowers that we wandered off without realizing it."

Xiao Erbao continued, "By the time I realized what was happening, we had already gone quite a distance."

Ning Huan listened to the two little ones' words and originally wanted to ask how they could not find their way if Da Bao was leading them. However, she was too exhausted to ask any questions and could only lie on the ground panting heavily.

Xiao Sibao looked at Da Bao and whispered, "Isn't Da Bao here? Why can't we find our way back?"

To everyone's surprise, Xiao Erbao lowered his head and said shyly, "Originally, Da Bao led us back the way we came, but when we were halfway there, I saw some really pretty wildflowers and insisted on running over to pick them..."

Xiao Sanbao continued, "Then we got all mixed up, and later Da Bao couldn't find our way back either... We were scared and tried to run back, but we didn't know where we ended up, and suddenly we fell into a pit..."

Hearing what Xiao Erbao and Xiao Sanbao said, Ning Huan knew the whole story behind the three little ones getting lost.

Although they got lost on their own, Ning Huan still felt very guilty. If she hadn't been so focused on gathering herbs, how could she have failed to notice that the three little ones had wandered off?

I originally went up the mountain early in the morning, but now it's already afternoon, and the sun will be setting soon.

Seeing that it was getting late, Ning Huan decided to force herself to get up and take the four little ones home. Otherwise, who knew what wild animals might appear in the mountains after dark?

"We have to get up and leave. We need to get home before sunset. Otherwise, there really might be wild animals roaming the mountains."

Upon hearing Ning Huan's words, the four little ones silently stood up.

But the second and third babies were so frightened that they had no strength left, and the eldest baby's foot injury was so severe that he couldn't walk at all.

Da Bao endured the excruciating pain and took two steps before collapsing to the ground.

The other three little ones quickly stepped forward to help Da Bao up. Xiao San Bao cried and said, "Big Brother Da Bao, how about Er Bao and I help you walk? We'll support you as you walk."

Da Bao shook his head and said with a wry smile, "You two can barely stand up, how could you possibly have the strength to carry me down the mountain?"

Ning Huan walked over to Da Bao, squatted down to examine Da Bao's foot, and frowned as she said, "Your foot is badly injured. You can't walk anymore from now on."

Then she asked the two babies, "Can you two still walk?"

Xiao Sanbao hesitated for a moment, then shook his head.

Little Erbao nodded from the side: "I can still walk."

Ning Huan took the hand of Xiao Sibao and placed it in Xiao Erbao's hand: "Then you take Xiao Sibao with you, okay? Stay close to me."
