Chapter Thirteen: The Minor Villain in the Future

Hearing the sound from the bushes, Ning Huan approached quietly step by step and discovered that there was a little white rabbit lying in the bushes.

The hind leg was bitten by some wild animal, and it was covered in blood.

These white rabbits lack camouflage, making it very difficult for them to survive in the mountains.

Ning Huan gently touched the little rabbit and found that it was on the verge of death.

Ning Huan couldn't bear it, so she put the little rabbit in her basket, thinking of taking it home to treat it and see if she could save it.

But the wound on the rabbit's leg also told her that there were wild animals roaming in the mountains.

From large predators like jackals and tigers to small creatures like snakes and weasels, all are adept at hunting rabbits.

Seeing the wound on the rabbit's leg, she judged that the wild animal that had appeared was probably not as big as a jackal, tiger, or leopard.

With that in mind, Ning Huan decided to set a trap nearby. If she could catch any wild animals, they would be game.

For the past two days, Ning Huan has only eaten vegetables and eggs, and hasn't even smelled any meat.

Before the trap could even be set, Ning Huan's mind had already conjured up five hundred ways to cook wild game.

She placed the grass, which had been stained with the rabbit's blood, in the middle of the trap as bait.

Then they clapped their hands and waited to see what they could catch next time they went up the mountain.

After spending most of the day on the mountain, Ning Huan felt somewhat exhausted when she came down.

This is understandable, as the original owner of this body was fat and obese, and rarely did normal running or jumping, let alone climbing mountains.

Ning Huan would pant after walking a few steps, and she secretly decided that she must lose weight.

Then I thought of the bumps on my face, as well as the redness and pustules.

We must find a way to keep going.

Because she was too tired on the way back, Ning Huan walked and rested intermittently, so it was almost dark when she got back.

As soon as she stepped onto the path home, she saw four little bundles of joy looking in her direction.

Upon seeing their own figures, they rushed over eagerly.

"Why did it take you so long to get back!"

Little Erbao rolled his eyes: "We thought you ran away!"

Ning Huan wasn't angry. She knew that the original owner of this body wasn't good to the four little ones, and would often beat or scold them.

She never fulfilled her responsibilities as a mother, nor did she teach them well.

In the original book, Xiao Sibao was killed by the original owner of the body.

The remaining three little ones eventually became Zhou Jing'an's right-hand men.

Zhou Jing'an failed to properly guide them, ultimately turning them into three wicked little villains.

The book describes the three of them as follows: wherever they went, bloodshed and carnage ensued; they committed arson, murder, robbery, and all sorts of evil deeds, causing countless people to cry out in suffering and injustice.

Officials impeached them, but they didn't care at all, relying on Zhou Jing'an's position second only to the emperor.

After the protagonist finally eliminates Zhou Jing'an, the three minor villains are also executed by slow slicing and dismemberment.

Seeing the four adorable little bundles of joy before her, Ning Huan felt a pang of sadness at this tragic end.

Seeing that Ning Huan didn't say anything, the four little ones thought she was angry because of what Erbao had said.

They quickly surrounded Erbao behind them, saying, "Don't be angry. If you want to hit someone, don't hit Erbao, hit us instead!"

After regaining her senses, Ning Huan saw the four little bundles of joy so united and laughed out loud: "I didn't mean to hit anyone."

She then explained, "I collected a lot of herbs on the mountain today, and I will go to the clinic in town tomorrow to find a doctor for your father."

The little ones were very happy to hear this.

They hugged each other and cheered, "Great! Daddy can finally get better!"

As soon as she entered the courtyard, Ning Huan remembered that there was a little rabbit in the basket on her back.

"I came back late today because I found an injured little guy on the mountain and brought him back."

When Ning Huan gently took the rabbit out, the little ones were stunned; they had never seen such a snow-white rabbit before.

The two little ones, being so young and having never even seen a rabbit before, couldn't help but exclaim "Wow!"

When they saw the injury on the rabbit's leg, Xiao Sanbao asked with concern, "How did it get hurt?"

Little Sibao asked, "Will it get better?"

Little Erbao asked, "If I feed it grass, will it get better?"

Ning Huan explained to them one by one: "It looks like it was bitten by a wild animal in the mountains. If it is taken good care of, it might get better."

While she was on the mountain, she picked some spiritual herbs from her consciousness space. Ning Huan took the herbs out of the basket and gave them to Xiao Erbao, saying, "Feed it some herbs; it might alleviate its pain."

Although Da Bao didn't ask anything aloud, Ning Huan could see the worry in his eyes.

She gently patted Da Bao's shoulder and said, "It might still be a little scared. Gently stroke the little rabbit; it might soothe it."

Da Bao coldly ignored Ning Huan.

But as she walked towards the kitchen with her basket, she saw Da Bao gently raising his hand, wanting to stroke the little white rabbit that was eating grass.

Ning Huan smiled and shook her head helplessly.

She sorted out the herbs she was going to take to town the next day, and then took out the medicine for Xiao Sibao.

The rest were the herbs Ning Huan wanted to brew to replenish Zhou Jing'an's qi and blood.

Although they haven't seen a doctor yet, Ning Huan knows medicine herself. Zhou Jing'an's complexion is not good, so no matter what, his qi and blood must be replenished.

She picked a few mild herbs, intending to brew them for Zhou Jing'an.

After sorting the herbs, Ning Huan began to cook dinner.

She deliberately reduced her portion size and made an extra bowl of watery vegetable soup.

During the meal, the four little ones were happy because their father could see a doctor.

But Zhou Jing'an just stared at Ning Huan without saying a word.

He originally thought Ning Huan would use the excuse of going to the mountains to gather herbs to run away, but she actually came back.

Zhou Jing'an didn't understand why this woman was suddenly willing to treat his illness, since there was no affection between them.

A single dose of medicine costs ten taels of silver; no one would want to bear that cost. Even his own parents had kicked him out.

Moreover, this woman is vicious in her daily life.

After dinner, Zhou Jing'an said to Ning Huan, "I have something I want to ask you. Come over here for a moment."

Ning Huan nodded in agreement and then took the medicine she had prepared for Zhou Jing'an.

"These are the herbs I found on the mountain today. They can nourish your body. You can drink them first."

Zhou Jing'an frowned and did not take the medicine Ning Huan offered him.

Ning Huan felt quite embarrassed as the medicine bowl hung suspended in mid-air.

Why did you save me?

Zhou Jing'an asked coldly, "If I die, wouldn't you be able to leave this family?"

Ning Huan didn't expect Zhou Jing'an to ask her that. She silently complained in her heart: Big brother, do you think I want to save you?

If she hadn't known that Zhou Jing'an would torture her to the point of leaving not even bone fragments, she would have taken this opportunity to make him show mercy in the future.

Who would want to sell the precious herbs they've painstakingly grown?
