"To be able to stand here and receive this award, which is of great significance to me, I would first like to thank director Kang Shin-hyo and screenwriter Kim Eun-sook." He spoke at a steady pace, each word clear and powerful. "Thank you for creating the character Choi Young-do and for trusting me to portray him."
"Thank you to every senior actor in the crew, and all the hardworking staff. Every day working with you has been a process of learning and growth for me." He bowed slightly, his gaze sincere as he stood up.
"I also want to thank my family, friends and members who have always supported me. Thank you for always being there for me, and thank you for the continued support from my company."
"Finally, thank you to all the viewers who love 'The Heirs' and Choi Young-do. I will take this as a new starting point and continue to work hard to live up to my identity as an actor. Thank you."
The applause from the audience was continuous.
"I look forward to everyone's continued activity in 2014. Congratulations once again, and thank you!" Li Huicai concluded.
"Congratulations!" Li Baoying also offered her blessings.
The award winners began to leave the stage in an orderly fashion. Ou Yangguang naturally stepped back to let the others go first. He then very naturally reached out and took Kim Ji-won's arm as they walked off the stage together.
"Wow, Choi Young-do is so thoughtful!" Lee Hwi-jae joked on stage, which drew another round of good-natured laughter from the audience.
Kim Ji-won's face flushed even more, but she couldn't hide the smile on her lips. Oh Yang-yang, on the other hand, looked completely at ease. After helping her down the steps, the two let go of each other's hands and returned to their seats.
This little incident became another topic of conversation that night.
The awards ceremony continued. Hyorin took the stage to sing the OST for "Master's Sun," her ethereal voice seemingly transporting the audience back to the romantic story of the drama.
Following this was the Special Acting Award for the One-Act Feature. Presenters Kim Soo-ro and Kim Min-jong announced that the male winner was Jung Eun-woo for "Stranger," and the female winner was Kim Mi-sook for "Case Number 113." The two veteran actors' acceptance speeches were filled with emotion, witnessing the dedication and glory of these accomplished actors.
The third award was the Special Acting Award for Long-Form Drama. Presented by Kim Soo-ro and Kim Min-jong, the winner was Jang Hyun-sung and Jang Young-nam from "Goddess of Marriage." Their superb on-screen chemistry left a deep impression on viewers, making their award well-deserved.
The fourth award was the Special Acting Award for a Medium-Length Drama. The presenters were now Jung Seung-hwan and Lee Min-young. When the male winner was announced as Lee Hyo-jung from "Jang Ok-jung, Living by Love," the applause was thunderous. The announcement of the female winner then sent the "The Heirs" cast area into a frenzy once again.
"Women's Award Winner, Kim Sung-ryung, The Heirs!"
Kim Sung-ryung, who plays Kim Tan's mother and the chairwoman of the Empire Group in the drama, rose gracefully. She wore a champagne-colored gown that evening, exuding elegance. Upon taking the stage, her heartfelt remarks were touching, especially mentioning the pleasant experience of working with her "son," Lee Min-ho. The camera focused on Lee Min-ho, who was intently clapping.
The fifth award was the Special Acting Award for Short Films. The presenters were Lee Tae-gon and Park Han-byul. The male winner was Jung Woong-in for "I Hear Your Voice," and the female winner was Kim Mi-kyung for "Master's Sun." These two award-winning supporting actors prove that excellent actors can shine regardless of the size of the role.
After the awards ceremony, a stage performance followed. The lights changed, cheerful music started, and the performance of "Bar Bar Bar" by five child stars—Ji Suyuan, Jiang Zhiyu, Li Lai, Hong Entai, and Quan Zhenshu—began!
The children's adorable dance and innocent smiles instantly eased the tense atmosphere of the awards ceremony. Many of the performers in the audience smiled kindly and swayed gently to the rhythm.
The performance ended to enthusiastic applause. The host returned to the stage, signaling that the more important awards were about to be announced.
