Su Jin played crickets with her. "Actually, I've never understood those people who date their bosses. The problem is, they don't change jobs even though they're in relationships."
Su Jin fell into deep thought.
"Don't they feel like they've finished their B shift and are now starting another one?"
"?ah?"
Xie Yunhuai leaned into the gap between them and interjected, "What are you talking about?"
Suddenly, a head appeared in the middle, startling Su Jin.
"It's nothing, it's nothing."
Lin Shi secretly gave her a wink, "Can you stop telling everyone? There are other people here."
Every time Su Jin said something, it made her lose face in public.
When they arrived at Lin Shi's house, Su Jin got out of the car to see her off.
Lin Shi glanced behind her but didn't follow. She pulled her aside and said, "Is your brother really that generous? He just bought a house like that? I went to look around, and that house isn't cheap."
Su Jin glanced back out of the corner of her eye and said, "It's not that I'm being paranoid, it's just that there are really troublemakers among them."
"Although the contract seems fine, I still need to consult a lawyer tomorrow."
Lin Shi nodded in agreement, "What if it's a scam? What if he tries to cheat you?"
After saying goodbye to her, Su Jin went back and got into her car.
"What were you talking about just now? You talked for so long."
It was already late, and Xie Yunhuai's face was mostly hidden in the darkness.
Su Jin looked away guiltily, "It's nothing, just chatting with her about random things, it was pretty boring."
I can't exactly say that I was suspecting you of having ulterior motives.
Xie Yunhuai nodded and gave a seemingly indifferent "oh".
We remained silent the entire way.
Su Jin kept her eyes fixed on the scenery outside the window until she saw the familiar street scene, at which point she breathed a sigh of relief.
Finally, I could get off the bus and quickly escape this strange and suffocating environment.
Su Jin had her hand on the doorknob, ready to get out of the car at any moment.
Suddenly, a suppressed cough echoed in the car.
She turned her head and saw Xie Yunhuai bent over, coughing and panting painfully.
"Brother, what's wrong?"
Su Jin reached out and supported his trembling body.
Xie Yunhuai took her hand and said in a broken voice, "I feel uncomfortable... I can't breathe."
Su Jin froze, and after a long while, she managed to utter a sentence.
"What should we do then?"
He laughed after saying that.
But I felt the current situation wasn't suitable for laughing, so I held it in.
The driver in the front seat spoke up at the right moment, "You can go home first; there's a family doctor there."
"Okay, then put me down and quickly take him back."
The driver hesitated, "Miss, it's quite a distance from here to your home, perhaps..."
He wanted to suggest that we go home together with our boss.
Su Jin interrupted him directly, "I can get there in a couple of quick movements! What's so far about it?"
She felt Xie Yunhuai tighten his grip on her hand and thought he was in great pain.
He said anxiously, "Is taking me home more important, or is his illness more important? Put me down quickly and take him home, don't let anything happen!"
The driver was under immense pressure and had no choice but to pull over.
Su Jin quickly got out of the car, and Xie Yunhuai couldn't catch her even if he wanted to.
She yelled at the driver, "Take him home quickly! Bye-bye."
Su Jin's figure disappeared before our eyes.
The car was completely silent.
Xie Yunhuai leaned back in his chair, reverting to his usual aloofness. There was no trace of the vulnerable look he had just given Su Jin.
The driver spoke tremblingly, "Boss, I tried my best, I really tried my best."
Xie Yunhuai buttoned his collar back up.
"Let's go back."
"Okay, boss."

Gu Xingze silently took the examination report; it was an expedited result.
Everything went smoothly, except for a minor heart problem.
The doctor warned him to avoid any more significant emotional fluctuations, or he might develop angina symptoms.
Gu Xingze nodded absentmindedly, not caring at all.
They simply folded up the negative reports and put them into a sealed bag.
That way, his wife probably won't dislike him anymore.
Jiang Heng waved his hand dismissively, "Go back to your own home. This isn't some heartbroken puppy shelter."
Gu Xingze ignored him and rubbed his dry eyes.
"Tell me, is all of this my own fault?"
Seeing that he looked completely lost, Jiang Heng hesitated to speak.
Gu Xingze looked down at the thread on the floor and muttered to himself, "I gave her my first time... How could she suspect that I'm dirty?"
Jiang Heng typed on his phone, giving him a perfunctory reply, "Women aren't necessities, there's no need to be glued together every day... Damn it, she's ignoring me again, I can't live like this anymore."
He covered his face and threw his phone aside. The lit WeChat screen was covered in green text, densely packed with his pride.
Gu Xingze's lips twitched, and he looked away.
"You're not even as good as me. At least my wife talks to me. I shouldn't have listened to you."
Jiang Heng chuckled, "What do you know? I'm playing a game with her. She's pretending to be weak while actually being strong. Do you think I don't know that? This is just part of my plan, and everything is going according to plan."
Gu Xingze felt that these words sounded familiar.
One sentence hit the nail on the head: "Is this your ex-girlfriend? You want to get her back, but she won't agree, right?"
Jiang Heng stood up abruptly, pointing at him with his mouth wide open, unable to utter a single word for a long time.
“You don’t understand anything! I’m getting revenge on her. I’m going to win her back and then dump her hard, so she can experience what I feel.”
