Chapter 557 Korean War

"Hehe." Le Yao patted Nangong Jue on the shoulder. "Honey, I really think you're a genius now."

Nangong Jue was taken aback.

“Really.” Le Yao sighed. “Only you could make such nonsense sound so touching.”

Nangong Jue's expression immediately became conflicted: "Wife, you've wronged me."

"Alright, I'll go help pack it up." Le Yao got up and went to help get the plastic bags.

The banquet was nearing its end. Everyone had eaten, drunk, and chatted their fill, and was ready to leave. The uneaten food and desserts on the table couldn't be thrown away, so they were all packed up and distributed to everyone to take home.

Since it's all food we eat, no one will care whether it's dirty or not.

"Alan." Le Yao was helping to distribute desserts to everyone when Han Zhan walked over. Actually, he hadn't found a suitable opportunity to talk to her. He knew that if he didn't speak up now, he might not have another chance.

"Brother Zhan." Le Yao smiled, put down what she was holding, and walked over. "I heard you signed up for the army. I haven't congratulated you yet."

Han Zhan smiled and said, "Thank you. I'm not good at studying, and I couldn't find a good job after graduating from technical school. Luckily, our school had some openings for military service, so I signed up and will be joining the army next month."

“The army is the best place to train people.” Le Yao nodded. “You will definitely be the best soldier.” This man was the village chief’s grandson. Han Binglan was adopted by Han Baozhu and his wife, and he and Han Xiangdong protected her. They were childhood sweethearts. He probably liked Han Binglan. However, after Han Binglan returned to the city, she fell in love with Nangong Jue at first sight. So, the two were destined to be apart.

"I will." Han Zhan nodded, then hesitated for a moment. "Then...you'll be alright too, right?"

Le Yao nodded: "Yes, I will be fine too."

"That's good." Han Zhan concealed his sadness and nodded with a smile. "If he bullies you, Xiang Dong and I will stand up for you."

"Okay." Le Yao nodded.

"Then I'm leaving."

"Brother Zhan, I'm already married, so you should hurry up and find me a sister-in-law too." After thinking for a moment, Le Yao still reminded him. She didn't want such an outstanding young man to be single because of her; that would be unfair.

"Okay." Han Zhan nodded, then turned and left.

Le Yao smiled and turned around to continue helping, but then she saw Nangong Jue standing not far away with a resentful look on his face. She couldn't help but facepalm. Was this guy jealous again?

"Fine, I'll just try to appease her," he thought, and walked over.

"You've been drinking, go back and get some sleep. We'll go back tomorrow."

Nangong Jue's earlier grievances vanished instantly, and he happily let Le Yao lead him back.

As for Zhou Yulan, she hadn't actually thought of it. She just wanted to eat somewhere else, but she was tricked into coming here by that scoundrel of a cousin-in-law. He's utterly inhuman.

Fang Ming was also frustrated. He couldn't figure it out either, after all, the girl next to him was still a young girl, while he felt that he preferred mature women.

But since he was already out, he figured he might as well take a walk. Then, feeling like a man, he tried to make conversation: "Miss Zhou, I heard we share the same birthday?"

“Mr. Fang, it seems so,” Zhou Yulan replied in a serious tone.

"You little girl..." Fang Ming raised his hand and rubbed Zhou Yulan's head. After rubbing it, he was stunned. He had just thought that this girl was very similar to his quirky cousin Fang Xiaotao.
