Le Yao: ...
"I can't watch either."
"Fine, I won't look then." Nangong Jue was quite compliant. "But seriously, raising a child is not easy. It's not enough to just feed them. Besides, you'll have to go to school later. But finding a reliable nanny on short notice isn't easy either. So, let Aunt Bai go help you for now. She's experienced."
Le Yao opened her mouth as if to refuse.
"Don't refuse yet. After all, raising a child isn't something you can do just by being angry."
"I'll give it a try first. If I really can't figure it out, then I'll trouble Aunt Bai." Le Yao finally nodded.
Nangong Jue did not insist.
That very night, Le Yao experienced firsthand how difficult it is to be a mother.
If he were a normal child, it would be fine, but Shuo Shuo is not. He has a temper and autistic tendencies. Although he has improved after psychological counseling, he is still not a normal child. He often wakes up in a fright while sleeping, cries loudly, and attacks people who get close. Although the attacks do not cause any major harm to adults, they are still very troublesome, since he may hurt himself if he is not careful.
So, on the first night Shuo Shuo came over, Le Yao and Sister Mei barely slept, and the next morning they were both staring at his bruised eyes.
But when Shuo Shuo woke up, in order to help him adapt to the new environment as quickly as possible, Le Yao didn't dare let him play by himself. So, she could only yawn and wander around the villa with the little guy, and then she had to feed him, drink him, tell him stories and sing to him...
So, while Shuo Shuo took a nap, Le Yao collapsed onto the sofa, completely exhausted.
"Young Madam," Aunt Bai said, arriving at that moment. "What happened?"
"I'm tired." Le Yao slightly opened her eyes.
"Taking care of a child is tiring," Aunt Bai laughed. "Alright, you should go upstairs and rest for a bit. I'll watch over him for you." She then glanced at Sister Mei, "You should go and rest too."
Sister Mei yawned and looked at Le Yao.
"How could I possibly accept this? Besides, this child..."
"It's alright, it's alright, I have experience." Aunt Bai waved her hand. "There's an autistic child in our village, and I'll go over and help take care of him when I have time."
"Then I'll have to trouble you, Aunt Bai." Le Yao was really exhausted. She usually didn't feel this tired even if she stayed up late reading novels or watching TV, but taking care of a child was incredibly tiring. She didn't have the energy to worry about it anymore, so she got up, went back to her room, and fell asleep on the bed.
When she woke up again, she found that it was already dark. She glanced at her watch and realized that she had slept for more than four hours. She quickly got up, washed up, and went downstairs.
Shuo Shuo had been awake for a while, but he was sitting there quietly... drawing.
"Young Miss," Sister Mei said, now more energetic, "it's time to start dinner."
"he……"
"Aunt Bai is really resourceful." Sister Mei smiled. "When the young master woke up, he would cry and make a fuss, so she took out a drawing board and taught him to draw. Unexpectedly, the young master liked it immediately."
Le Yao breathed a sigh of relief and went over to take a look. To be honest, she didn't have much skill in painting and couldn't tell what those blobs of paint were depicting. But the little guy was painting very seriously, and even looked up at her and smiled before continuing to paint.
