Chapter 212 No Fortune

Elegant architecture

Yun Xiaoran was already dressed.

Looking at her increasingly delicate skin in the mirror, she was very satisfied.

"Muzhen, your pills are working well. I feel my body is tighter and smoother than before."

Mu Zhen stood not far away, dressed in an indistinguishable manner from an ordinary aunt, and smiled faintly as she held her hands together, saying, "I hope that tonight, the county princess will get what she wants."

Yun Xiaoran glanced at her with alluring eyes.

"If my wish comes true, I will grant you whatever you desire."

Mu Zhen's gaze fell on her abdomen, and he bowed slightly.

"Thank you, County Princess."

Granny Liu was kept in the mansion.

Yun Xiaoran led Mu Zhen out of the mansion and happened to run into Song Yushu, who was on his way back to Shuya Courtyard.

Seeing her dressed in such finery, Song Yushu felt a sudden unease and stopped her with a stern face.

"where are you going?"

Yun Xiaoran no longer showed the feigned respect she used to, and gave a perfunctory bow.

"The Empress Dowager summoned me, but my aunt forbade me to go? Then I'll send a maid to the palace to tell her that the Ninth Prince's residence forbids me from leaving."

Song Yushu's expression darkened.

Watching this girl grow up, I couldn't bear to part with her.

"Xiaoran, Yunhan has already made his point clear, so why insist on it? If you still consider me an elder, listen to my advice, settle down, stay in the Prince's Mansion or go back to the County Princess's Mansion, you will have a different life."

Yun Xiaoran felt a lump in her throat and looked at her with red eyes.

"You treat me as an elder? Madam Song, do you consider me your daughter as you claim? No! You watched Jiang Qingwan, that lowly woman, bully me, not only turning a blind eye but also helping her harm me. Now, you still want to use so-called kinship to blackmail me? Don't you find that ridiculous?"

After she finished speaking, she turned and left.

Song Yushu shook his head slightly in disappointment.

Yu Ying sighed, "Madam, with Princess Xiaoran's temperament, I'm afraid she'll cause trouble again tonight."

Yu Tao retorted in a low voice.

"You can't blame the county princess; she just deeply loves the prince."

Yu Ying frowned. "But we can't harm people."

Yu Tao clenched her hands, lowered her head, and remained silent.

...

Mo Yunhan's carriage traveled all the way to the palace gate. After showing his waist token, he entered Xuanwu Gate and walked all the way to the long stone steps outside Zhaoyang Hall before stopping.

Qinghui and Yeqi stood guard on both sides.

Mo Yunhan lifted the curtain and stepped out of the carriage; there were already quite a few court officials coming and going.

They all bowed respectfully upon seeing him.

"Greetings, Your Highness the Ninth Prince."

Mo Yunhan ignored her, turned around and reached into the car to help Jiang Qingwan out.

The rumored Ninth Princess Consort was attending a banquet in the palace for the first time, and everyone couldn't help but take a second look at her as she bowed.

Even before sunset, the sunlight seemed to show a certain favoritism.

The soft sunlight shone on Jiang Qingwan's small face, making her appear dignified, noble, and stunningly beautiful.

She was nothing like the seductive woman the rumors suggested.

Several people couldn't help but stare.

Mo Yunhan's icy gaze had already swept over them.

"Don't you want your eyes anymore?"

The terrifying aura frightened everyone into lowering their heads and quickly bowing to take their leave.

Seeing the court officials scatter like birds and beasts, Jiang Qingwan glanced at him.

"His Highness the Ninth Prince is truly majestic."

Mo Yunhan held her small hand, his manner somewhat domineering and forceful.

"If lions and tigers were all smiles, they would have been eaten by wolves long ago."

Jiang Qingwan had already figured out his temper, so she let him hold her hand without pulling away. After taking two steps, she suddenly heard slightly hurried footsteps behind her.

"Your Highness the Nine Kings!"

The person who came was Qin Minglang.

His official robes were different from usual; he looked spirited and his features appeared much more handsome.

"Greetings, Ninth Prince's Consort."

His gaze fell on their clasped hands, a flicker in his eyes, but his manners were impeccable, leaving no room for criticism.

"As an executioner, I have been busy with official duties and have not had the chance to personally thank Your Highness for cooperating with the play at the city gate. If it weren't for that, I wouldn't have been able to dig out the cancer in the Ministry of War and share the Emperor's burdens."

He deliberately brought up the matter of the city gate.

The intention couldn't be clearer.

It was nothing more than mocking Mo Yunhan for making a big fuss but ultimately failing to catch him.

Jiang Qingwan gave him a cold glance.

The black aura lingering between his eyebrows signifies that bad luck has become a tangible reality.

She sneered inwardly and said calmly, "Lord Qin's thanks are not sincere enough. Kneel down."

Qin Minglang was stunned.

When he looked up, his eyes held a deep sadness and hurt, as if he couldn't accept that Jiang Qingwan would hurt him like this when he was already so outstanding.

Such a look is neither clear nor unclear.

Under his gaze, Jiang Qingwan raised her head and looked at Mo Yunhan with tenderness and affection.

“Your Highness, I told you this man was a complete hypocrite. He just said he wanted to thank you, but he didn’t bring any gifts or kneel down. He just talked the talk and that was it. Either he’s too poor to produce even a tael of gold, or he’s a sly fox who’s deliberately plotting against you.”

As she spoke, she suddenly glanced at Qin Minglang.

"Lord Qin, how dare you plot against the Prince in court? Who gave you the audacity?"

Qin Minglang subconsciously retorted.

"I didn't..."

"Oh, so he really is poor and stingy."

Jiang Qingwan interrupted him, casually giving her conclusion. Then, she affectionately took Mo Yunhan's arm and whispered, "Your Highness, let me tell you quietly, he's not destined for wealth and honor. He'll be in trouble soon. Let's stay away from him."

Mo Yunhan was barely able to hold back his laughter.

Jiang Qingwan's blatant protection of him pleased him greatly.

They wouldn't care about Qin Minglang's veiled provocations.

He patted the soft, white hand in the crook of his arm.
