Night was falling.
In the birch forest of the East Third District, Qin Run held the stick in his hand and waited for a long time.
Soon, three figures were seen walking over, chatting and laughing.
"When we see Qin Run later, we'll teach him a lesson like this and stop him from showing off all the time."
"Yes, wanting to go back to Yulin Academy is just wishful thinking."
"No private school in the entire capital would accept him. I heard that he was the first student to be forbidden from taking the imperial examinations by imperial decree. He really set a precedent."
Qin Run hid in the shadows, his teeth clenched in hatred.
Taking advantage of the three people's unpreparedness, he suddenly rushed out and started hitting them with his wheel and stick.
"A bunch of lowly commoners, how dare you laugh at this young master? I'll beat you to death."
They were all scholars who couldn't even kill a chicken.
The three were caught off guard and took several hard blows.
It hurt so much it screamed.
But in the end, they were outnumbered.
The three of them quickly realized that the situation had changed drastically.
Qin Run was pinned to the ground and given a severe beating.
My face was stomped on several times.
The three were still not satisfied.
"They actually dared to launch a sneak attack; they almost knocked my teeth out."
"I have a huge bump on the back of my head. He hit me too hard."
"That bastard, he didn't have any money on him at all. He deliberately tricked us into coming here to get beaten up."
Qin Run was kicked several more times by the three furious men.
He clutched his stomach, curled up in pain.
The three men were still unhappy, but they didn't dare to cause any deaths.
One of them suddenly made a suggestion.
"I'll show you a good show."
As he spoke, he began to unbuckle his belt.
With a lewd grin, he urinated on Qin Run, leaving not a single drop on his face.
Seeing this, the three couldn't help but burst into laughter and left.
The fishy smell made Qin Run gag.
He fiercely ripped the sharp hairpin off his head and gripped it tightly in his hand, struggling for a while before finally getting up.
He took a shortcut and caught up with Mu Tianheng, who had just urinated on his face. At that moment, Mu Tianheng had just separated from the other two people and was humming a song as he walked home.
Driven to madness by the stimulation, Qin Run lunged forward, grabbed his neck, and plunged the hairpin deep into his chest. She pulled it out and stabbed him a dozen more times before stopping.
When he came to his senses...
The person in my arms had already stopped breathing and was lying limply to one side.
Qin Run was so frightened that he scrambled backward, panting heavily, but then quickly calmed down.
He wiped the hairpin clean and put it back in his hair bun, then dragged Mu Tianheng's body into a nearby dry well and threw it in.
After all this was done, a thunderclap suddenly rang out in the sky.
A torrential downpour began.
He dared not linger any longer, got up and ran.
The heavy rain washed away the bloodstains on his body, and there was no one on the street.
He dared not return to the county magistrate's mansion, and instead sneaked back to the Qin family in the dark.
But the dark courtyard and room terrified him so much that he trembled all over. As if possessed, he pushed open the door to the room where Jiang Qingwan used to live.
After Jiang Qingwan left, everything in the room was smashed to pieces, and it had long since become a deserted place.
He wondered if it was just his imagination, but he felt that there was still a faint fragrance of Jiang Qingwan in the air.
This gradually eased his tense fear.
He climbed onto the bed, curled up, closed his eyes, and whispered.
"Mother, I'm scared."
...
Early in the morning, someone knocked on the door of the Ninth Prince's Mansion.
The invitation was quickly delivered to Mo Yunhan.
At this moment, he was fighting Ye Qi in the martial arts arena. After finishing his move, he took the invitation and glanced at it, his brows furrowing instantly.
"Is it another visit to the Princess?"
Last time it was a woman who signed her name, and he could turn a blind eye.
Now that the post clearly lists the names "He Nian" and "He Nian," how can he tolerate it?
"Take the person to the front hall."
Mo Yunhan changed his clothes and came to the front hall with a sullen face.
He Nian and his son He Yidong were already waiting, and upon seeing him, they immediately looked behind him.
But Jiang Qingwan was nowhere to be seen.
Just as I was about to ask, Mo Yunhan spoke coolly.
"The princess is still asleep."
"Lord He, as a court official, come to my residence early in the morning to see my queen. Don't you think this is improper?"
He Nian's eyes were dark and bluish, clearly indicating that he hadn't slept well last night and was extremely tired.
Upon hearing this, he quickly pulled He Yidong to kneel on the ground.
"Greetings, Your Highness."
"Please forgive me, Your Highness. I have no other choice but to beg the Princess. Once this matter is resolved, Your Highness may punish me as you see fit, and I will accept it without question."
Mo Yunhan narrowed his eyes.
"What's the rush?"
He Yidong could no longer hold back.
My eyes were swollen like walnuts from crying.
"My mother, my mother has been kidnapped by paper figures."
"Paper doll?"
Mo Yunhan was stunned. He suddenly remembered the paper figure that had appeared in the main hall of the Prince's Mansion that day and had been teased by Xiao Hong. After a moment of contemplation, he stood up and said, "You two wait here."
He Nian quickly bowed again.
"Thank you, Your Highness."
Soon, Jiang Qingwan, still half-asleep, was half-carried into the front hall by Mo Yunhan, wearing a cloak.
Her hair was not tied up, but was loosely and casually draped over her shoulders, and her exquisitely beautiful face had the appearance of a bewitching concubine who could bring ruin to a country.
He was dressed very neatly.
She didn't reveal even the slightest hint of charm.
She drank two sips of tea from Mo Yunhan's hand, and her mind cleared up considerably, though her voice was still a little hoarse.
"Explain the matter in detail."
He Yidong immediately responded.
"Yesterday, to celebrate my winning of the gold plaque in the martial arts competition, my parents specially allowed me to drink some fruit wine. After 9 PM, I felt a little dizzy but didn't want to leave the table, so I leaned back in the recliner to rest. My parents were both a little drunk and were talking about the future. I suddenly felt the room get very cold. In my daze, I called for my mother to cover me with a blanket. After waiting for a while and not getting a response, I opened my eyes and saw my mother being surrounded by a group of paper figures and walking out."
