The doctor was tough on the outside but soft on the inside. He muttered, "You mother, all you do is cry. Why don't you put the child inside and boil some water to bring down the fever?"
Xiao Zhuang's wife nodded quickly.
He took the wooden ladle and went to scoop water.
"There's something wrong with this water."
Jiang Qingwan frowned and spoke.
"The plague in your village probably originated from these waters."
Xiao Zhuang's wife was so frightened that she immediately threw the wooden ladle on the ground.
"Then...what should we do?"
Jiang Qingwan turned to look at the village chief.
How many wells do you have in your village?
The village chief quickly replied, "Six people."
Jiang Qingwan nodded and looked at Zheng Qing.
"Uncle, take a few people and go with the village chief. Bring some water up from each well, and mark which bucket of water is from which well. Don't mix them up. Bring them all over here in a while."
Zheng Qing nodded.
"Li Dou, Qing Sui, the two of you protect her."
After giving the instructions, he immediately called a few people and left with the village chief.
Jiang Qingwan looked at the doctor again.
"I'm leaving the child's affairs to you. Thank you for your hard work."
Without waiting for his refusal, she asked, "Xiao Zhuang, which room are your parents in?"
When Xiao Cui saw that Jiang Qingwan was really willing to treat her, she immediately stood up.
"My lord, this servant will take you there."
She quickly wiped away her tears and led Jiang Qingwan toward the main house.
The doctor stomped his feet in anger.
"Even if I bring the child's fever down, I still can't cure his illness. Wouldn't that be a waste of time?"
Jiang Qingwan did not explain.
He just said it casually.
"If you don't get treatment, you won't be able to leave."
The choked doctor wanted to curse again, but seeing the soldiers outside, he could only accept his fate.
“I won’t come into your house. Just bring over a stool or a table so I can give the child acupuncture.”
Xiao Zhuang quickly went to get it done.
At the threshold of the main house, Jiang Qingwan raised her hand to stop Li Dou and Qing Sui outside.
"Don't go in. The air inside is thick with the plague, just in case."
Upon hearing this, Qinghui immediately pulled her back.
"Your Highness, will you still go in?"
Jiang Qingwan smiled and said, "I am indestructible."
Qinghui kept a straight face and didn't say anything.
He didn't let go.
She clearly didn't believe this reason.
Jiang Qingwan patted her on the shoulder, "Don't worry, I value my life more than you do. You won't die if you go in, but if you get sick, how will you protect me?"
After saying that, he withdrew his arm and stepped inside.
Inside the inner room, the aura of death and plague was unusually strong.
Jiang Qingwan looked at the two elderly people lying side by side on the bed, who were already barely breathing.
Sure enough, the plague was most rampant when the death energy gathered.
If she hadn't come to Xiahe Village, and people had died one after another here, the deathly aura would have accumulated more and more, and the plague would have really become a force to be reckoned with, sweeping around like a whirlwind, leaving no living being alive.
Who on earth is so insane? Is this person trying to completely destroy the Great Zhou Dynasty?
She couldn't help but recall Fang Mingxin's words.
If it is indeed a plague, then it can be classified as a natural disaster.
But right now, that's clearly not the case.
"Father, Mother..."
Xiao Cui called out several times, tears streaming down her face.
"My lord, my parents..."
"Step back."
Jiang Qingwan waved her hand.
After Xiao Cui stepped back a few paces, she raised her hand, gathered her qi, and drew a talisman in the air.
Golden talismans gathered in mid-air.
Fu Cheng was instantly slapped by her raised hand.
He suddenly strode towards the large bed.
The golden light, sharp as a blade, instantly dispersed the condensed deathly and plague-like aura.
Like a raging fire, everything vanishes into thin air.
The two people on the bed suddenly convulsed and vomited almost simultaneously.
His body was covered in filth, and the stench was overwhelming.
After vomiting, the person slowly opened their eyes.
Xiao Cui excitedly rushed over.
"Father, Mother!"
She was truly filial and didn't mind at all. She took a handkerchief and wiped the two elderly people's faces, saying as she did so, "Father, Mother, it's so good that you've woken up. It's a benefactor who saved you."
The room faces the sun and is well-lit.
Jiang Qingwan walked to the side and opened the window.
"The plague has been eliminated; the rest can be left to the doctor."
After she finished speaking, she turned and left the room.
The old man and Xiao Cui kept thanking him from behind.
The doctors in the courtyard who had just finished their acupuncture treatments were stunned when they heard this.
"They actually woke up? That's impossible. Judging from their pulse, they would have collapsed long ago after a night's rest. How come their breathing seems to be improving?"
He rushed over in a great hurry.
He looked at Jiang Qingwan with eager eyes.
"Do you really have a way to cure the plague?"
Jiang Qingwan said, "It's not a plague, it's a plague-like aura. I've dispelled the plague-like aura, so it won't spread anymore. You can treat the rest."
The doctor looked incredulous.
"You...you mean, the plague without the plague virus will no longer be contagious?"
Jiang Qingwan nodded, then called out, "Xiao Zhuang, come here."
Xiao Zhuang responded and quickly ran over, instinctively about to kneel down.
Jiang Qingwan raised her hand to support him.
A stream of spiritual energy flowed from his palm and struck Xiao Zhuang.
He withdrew his hand and said, "Let the doctor take a look at your palm."
Xiao Zhuang felt weak all over. He hadn't sweated much along the way, but now, sweat was pouring out like it was free.
She looked as if she had been washed.
Even the strands of hair were wet.
He didn't even have time to wipe his sweat before quickly turning his hand over.
He was shocked even before the doctor could examine him.
"It's gone, the pink one is gone."
The doctor had never seen anything like it.
He immediately stepped forward, grabbed his wrist, and after examining it closely, exclaimed in amazement.
