He Lingchuan clenched his fist, his voice piercing through the receiver, sounding even colder: "Don't try to turn the tables on me."
His tone was heavy, and his arm trembled slightly: "This is marital infidelity."
He can absolutely file for divorce.
He didn't want things to get too ugly. Shen Yanxi needed to save face, but he needed to even more: "I want you to appear in front of me within half an hour."
"Don't push your luck. I can't leave right now. Let's talk about it when we meet."
"Do I have a chance to meet you now?"
He Lingchuan couldn't help but mock her: "You're a very busy person now."
"He Lingchuan, don't push your luck."
Shen Yanxi had said harsh words before, but never before had she been so unable to contain her anger.
He Lingchuan didn't want to waste time, so he urged her on the phone: "I'm not looking for you for anything else, I'm looking for a divorce. The sooner you come over, the sooner you can be with Zhou Mingyan."
He didn't understand why Shen Yanxi was being so hesitant when he was clearly trying to make things easier for her.
A silence fell on the other end, and He Lingchuan could only hear faint breathing.
Are you listening?
Haven't you made enough of a scene?
When Shen Yanxi is angry, her voice rises at the end of her words. He Lingchuan used to judge her emotions by this little detail.
This time was no different; her voice remained calm, but her speaking speed increased significantly.
“I’m not making a scene. I’m doing this for you and Zhou Mingyan. I’m just getting in the way here. The sooner you get a divorce, the easier it will be for you two to be together.”
He Lingchuan gradually lost his patience: "Come over sooner, I've been waiting for a long time."
He paused for a moment, then offered, "If it's inconvenient for you to come, I can pick you up. It will only take a few minutes, very quickly."
He was practically discussing it with Shen Yanxi.
The long-lost tenderness plunged Shen Yanxi into silence.
Ever since she brought Zhou Mingyan back, He Lingchuan has been acting all grumpy.
She had already given Zhou Mingyan a chance, but he kept pressing her.
"How long are you going to keep making a scene? I understand and agree that you want to go out to work. Consider this my compensation to you. I advise you to know when to stop."
Shen Yanxi took a deep breath to calm herself down, and He Lingchuan heard a patting sound coming from the other side.
She would have trouble breathing when she was angry, something He Lingchuan used to do often.
He thought he could continue living with Shen Yanxi like this, but he didn't expect someone to replace him so soon.
"I wasn't acting out of spite."
Fearing that Shen Yanxi wouldn't believe him, He Lingchuan added, "I would never joke about a child."
He hasn't been home or taken care of the children during this time.
If he were truly angry, he couldn't possibly abandon them.
Shen Yanxi only realized the seriousness of the matter after hearing his words.
But she was already used to He Lingchuan taking the initiative to show weakness.
They didn't take his temper to heart at all.
"Go back when you've had enough of making a scene."
She automatically ignored the topic of divorce and hung up the phone without waiting for He Lingchuan's reply.
A busy signal interrupted He Lingchuan's thoughts. He scratched his head, hesitated for a moment, and decided to confront Shen Yanxi face to face.
Today's marriage is a divorce, whether you want to or not.
He Lingchuan could roughly guess where Shen Yanxi lived.
When he wasn't working at home, he would go to the villa in the suburbs, which was also a good place to settle Zhou Mingyan. It was secluded and quiet, and the two of them could go on dates from time to time.
It's a good place for Tibetans.
He Lingchuan only remembered visiting twice, both times when Shen Yanxi was drunk, and both times it was related to Zhou Mingyan.
He stood at the door, straightened his clothes, and only after he had smoothed out the wrinkles did he raise his hand to ring the doorbell.
He remembered that Shen Yanxi had said she didn't like men who were too sloppy, and he usually paid a lot of attention to his image.
Now that they're getting a divorce, he's even less likely to let Shen Yanxi look down on him.
"Mr. He?"
Zhou Mingyan opened the door, and He Lingchuan peeked into the inner room, his gaze passing over Zhou Mingyan.
He lifted his foot to enter, only to be met by Zhou Mingyan's outstretched arm: "Mr. He, is there something you need here?"
"Shen Yanxi and I are not divorced yet."
Zhou Mingyan frowned outside, not understanding what he meant.
He Lingchuan was too lazy to waste words with him and got straight to the point: "This house is our common property. I can come in whenever I want. It's none of your business."
“Mr. He, are you mistaken? Xixi is resting in the inner room right now, and I don’t want you to disturb her.”
"Who is disturbing whom?"
He Lingchuan felt disgusted just looking at the expression on Zhou Mingyan's face.
He seemed to care about Shen Yanxi, but he was actually just pretending.
His eyes were full of calculation, his smile was forced and insincere, and he seemed to have a clear purpose at first glance.
Only someone as foolish as Shen Yanxi would believe his words.
He reached out and pushed Zhou Mingyan away: "I don't care what he's doing, I need to talk to him about something."
Zhou Mingyan originally wanted to stop them, as he secretly didn't want He Lingchuan and Shen Yanxi to spend time together.
"Didn't you always want us to get a divorce? What, do you not want it anymore now?"
"You're here to get a divorce from Xixi?"
Zhou Mingyan was somewhat surprised. He looked He Lingchuan up and down.
He opened the door with some skepticism: "Hurry up, since you're getting a divorce, don't linger here too long."
He soon revealed his true colors.
He Lingchuan snorted coldly, as if he hadn't heard him speak, and strode inside.
Just as he said, Shen Yanxi was in the room.
However, instead of resting, she sat in front of the computer with her hair up and looked at documents.
The computer light shone on her face, and He Lingchuan could vaguely see the fine hairs on her skin.
Even after having two children, Shen Yanxi is still so beautiful.
No wonder I had a crush on him for so long back in college.
Hearing footsteps, Shen Yanxi thought it was Zhou Mingyan: "Mingyan, where did you go? Why did it take you so long to come back..."
When she spoke the last few words, Shen Yanxi's voice noticeably slowed down.
Why are you here?
She looked up and met Zhou Mingyan's gaze as he entered the room: "You let him in?"
"Mr. He said he needs to talk to you."
Zhou Mingyan's voice was a little hoarse. He deliberately lowered his voice, making it sound like he was very aggrieved.
"This is your house after all."
He kept staring at He Lingchuan as he spoke, and Shen Yanxi immediately understood what he meant.
She stood up from her chair, pointed at He Lingchuan, and spoke up for Zhou Mingyan: "Did you threaten him?"
She sneered, her eyes full of mockery: "This is my house, what's it to you?"
"I will soon be no longer a threat."
He Lingchuan didn't want to argue with them, so he brought the divorce papers with him: "Sign them, and we'll have nothing to do with each other from now on."
The five large characters were clearly displayed in front of her, which surprised Shen Yanxi.
"Are you really going to divorce me?"
He Lingchuan nodded firmly, his attitude resolute: "We should have divorced long ago, but I always hoped that you would change your mind. Now it seems that I was too foolish."
