Chapter 2 Are you my destined one?

When facing a ferocious beast, one must not show fear.

The merman's last remaining eye was fixed on the sword in Qi Yu's hand, and as if enraged, it swung its tail and charged towards Qi Yu.

Qi Yu kicked off the mermaid's claws and stabbed the mermaid's fish tail with his sword.

With a nimble flick of its tail, the mermaid struck Qi Yu's wound on the back.

Qi Yu endured the pain, kicked the merman in the chest, and then raised his sword to stab it into the merman's heart. The Compassionate Sword flashed a bright light and pierced the merman's body, blue blood gushing from the wound.

Qi Yu drew his sword and watched as the merman sank to the bottom of the water, exhausted.

The weapons provided by the system are indeed powerful.

She turned her head and looked at the bird demon watching from the side. He didn't seem to have any intention of hurting her, nor had he taken advantage of her just now. She should be able to communicate with him.

Unable to speak underwater, Qi Yu could only use gestures to ask if there was a way out.

The bird demon tilted its head in confusion, as if it didn't understand what she meant.

Qi Yu sighed wearily, thinking, "That's true. How could a bird demon who's been locked up here for so long and doesn't seem to be very bright know how to get out?"

The water flow beside me suddenly sped up a little.

By the time Qi Yu noticed the anomaly, it was too late. She turned around abruptly, only to find that the merman, who had seemed to have died just moments before, had returned.

With sharp, black claws within reach, Qi Yu's pupils dilated. He thought he was about to face his death, but his body was knocked aside by a white figure!

Silver-white hair brushed against her cheek, and Qi Yu's incredulous eyes reflected the man's back. The merman's five fingers pierced through the bird demon's chest, clutching a pounding heart.

The merman's hand gripped his heart tightly, and shattered blood gushed from between his fingers, the strong stench of blood hitting Qi Yu's face.

Bang--

Suddenly, as if its foundation had been touched, the cold pool surged violently, sending pebbles flying and countless strange fish darting about wildly, screaming incessantly.

The merman withdrew the arm that had crushed the bird demon's heart, curled up, clutched his head, and let out a painful cry.

Qi Yu helplessly pulled the bird demon's body into her arms, her mind racing with thoughts, unsure of what to do.

Suddenly, the world spun around her, and she appeared under a towering tree, soaking wet and disheveled, carrying the bird demon, looking like a water ghost that had just crawled out of the water.

They emerged from the barrier.
