Chapter 29: Sinister (2/2)

Xiang Chuan texted He Chi the name of the institution: "If the quality of this institution was not good, your sister-in-law would have complained about the teacher's poor teaching. Since she didn't say a word, I guess it's pretty good."

He Chi glanced at the burnt meat in the photo and gloated over it, sending a voice message, "Officer Zhu cooked it himself. Brother Chuan, why are you still complaining about it?"

Xiang Chuan never thought that He Chi was so mean and even opened the voice call in front of Officer Zhu.

His will to survive surged. "What nonsense are you talking about, kid? My wife cooked for me personally. Just the friendship we share is more precious than any other gourmet food."

Xiang Chuan quickly changed the subject to He Chi and asked, "Why are you asking about culinary institutions?"

He Chi: "Of course I want to learn how to cook. Otherwise, I want to be a chef?"

Learn to cook?

Xiang Chuan knew that He Chi's family was very well-off, and the He family was well-known for its wealth in Lincheng. His aunt and uncle had a son, but he was trained by his uncle to take over the family business.

As for the He family, He Chi had no choice but to take over after his aunt retired.

Old Mrs. He only has one grandson, He Chi, and she treasures him very much. After Ling Yan's death, she went on a hunger strike to the point where she was only holding on with one breath, and forced He Chi to leave the police force.

Xiang Chuan felt it was a pity that He Chi left the police force.

He Chi is very tenacious and brave enough to take on challenges. He may look rough, but he is actually very careful in his work, just like when he was young. He will definitely achieve something in the future.

The old lady refused to give in. Between his career and his grandmother who always loved him, He Chi chose the latter.

Xiang Chuan found it strange that He Chi didn't need to learn it himself. He knew He Chi and knew that when it came to things in life, he would never do it himself if he could solve the problem with money.

He felt puzzled and wanted to ask, "Why do you suddenly want to learn how to cook?"

Someone rang the doorbell outside. He Chi didn't have time to chat with Xiang Chuan. He said perfunctorily, "I have something to do. Let's talk later."

Jiang Yining called out from the kitchen, "He Chi, please help open the door. Qiaoqiao and Aunt Fan must have arrived."

He Chi had already passed by while she was speaking.

He Chi opened the door and saw the mother and daughter carrying some fruit.

He thought that Aunt Fan seemed to be a few years younger than Teacher Lin.

"Hello, Aunt Fan, I'm He Chi, please come in."

When Fan Peihua saw He Chi's handsome appearance, she was immediately delighted. "Ningning has really good taste. I heard that she got married. I've been wanting to meet you for a long time."

As she walked in, she said, "Please help me find a job. I'm really embarrassed."

He Chi said modestly, "Aunt Fan, it's just a small favor."

Zhang Qiao said to He Chi, "My mom is a bit nagging, don't mind."

"Mom, you must change your ways when you work here in the future."

Fan Peihua said, "Of course I know. We are talking to one of our own people."

Zhang Qiao asked He Chi, "Do you want to change your shoes?"

"Need not."

He Chi took them to the living room and made tea for them. Seeing Jiang Yining come out, He Chi went to the kitchen to help prepare the ingredients.

Jiang Yining asked, "How did the interview go?"

Zhang Qiao replied, "It went very smoothly. The person just asked a few simple questions and told us to take some time out in the next two days to go to the hospital for a physical examination. If there are no problems, we will participate in the training."

Fan Peihua took Jiang Yining's hand and said, "Ningning, thank you for this time."

Looking at the shadow of Du Ruo in Jiang Yining's eyes and eyebrows, she couldn't help feeling sad for a moment. She and Du Ruo were not only junior high school classmates, but also best friends for many years.

Fan Peihua looked around. This house was even better than any she had seen during her time as a confinement nanny. Tears welled up in her eyes. "Ningning, if your mother knew you were married and living well, she would be very happy." This chapter has been read (please click on the next chapter to continue reading!)
