Chapter 30: Just Because She Is His Wife (1/2)

Jiang Yining thought that the only thing her mother was worried about before she died was her, so she held her hand tightly and refused to let go.

She thought her mother must be blaming herself for not waiting until she got married and started a family.

Jiang Yining's eyes gradually became wet.

Zhang Qiao touched her mother's hand, "Mom, why are you bringing this up for no reason?" She took a tissue and wiped Jiang Yining's tears, "Don't cry. What if your husband thinks we're bullying you?"

Jiang Yining knew that Zhang Qiao was joking with her.

Fan Peihua didn't mean it. "Ningning, it's all my fault. How could I have made you cry?"

"Aunt Fan, I'm fine."

Seeing Jiang Yining wearing an apron, Fan Peihua stood up and said, "Let me make lunch, you guys take a rest."

Zhang Qiao held her down and said, "Mom, please sit still."

Jiang Yining took a breath and smiled, "Aunt Fan, Qiaoqiao is right. You two can't help today. I'll go to the kitchen first. You two can watch TV for a while."

Zhang Qiao waved her hand and said, "Just go ahead and do your thing. I can turn on the TV myself."

Jiang Yining returned to the kitchen and said, "Let me do it."

He Chi refused, "You command, I'll do it."

Jiang Yining paused, looked at He Chi's stiff movements, pursed his lips and said, "I'm afraid your cooking won't taste good."

He Chi: “…”

It seems that enrolling in classes is imminent.

He Chi carefully noticed that the corners of Jiang Yining's eyes were red. He frowned and asked, "Why are you crying?"

Jiang Yining usually looks a bit cold, but the more he gets to know her, the more he notices her contrasts. She is easily shy and quite crybaby. This is the third time he has known her cry.

Jiang Yining said in a muffled voice, "I'm fine. It's just that Aunt Fan mentioned my mother just now, and I felt sad for a moment."

He Chi has been thinking about one thing these past two days. He promised to take time to go with Jiang Yining to pay respects to his mother-in-law. "Let's go to my uncle's house for dinner tomorrow, and we'll go see my mother-in-law the day after tomorrow."

Jiang Yining said, "Let's go with my uncle tomorrow."

She explained, "My mother is buried in the cemetery on my uncle's side."

When my mother knew that her death was approaching, she specifically asked that she be closer to my grandparents after her death, and they were also buried in that cemetery.

He Chi had no objection. "Okay."

During lunch, Fan Peihua asked, "Ningning, when are you planning to have a baby?"

Hearing this, Jiang Yining almost choked. She blushed and said, "Aunt Fan, it's too early to ask this question. We haven't thought about it yet."

Seeing her reaction, Zhang Qiao knew that he was right.

These two people really sleep in separate rooms.

Fan Peihua said, "After you and Qiaoqiao have the baby, I will take care of you during the confinement period. I have more than ten years of experience as a confinement nanny. If your uncle Zhang hadn't told me to do this job again, I wouldn't want to change my career."

Zhang Qiao suggested, "Mom, how about we tell the person in charge of the housekeeping service center that we can't go?"

Fan Peihua hit her lightly and said, "You kid, one hundred an hour? To be frank, the three or four hours I work a day is enough for you to work a whole day. You don't want such a good job?"

Zhang Qiao said jokingly, "I heard you complain about not being able to be a confinement nanny."

"Can't you talk about it?"

Thinking of such a high hourly wage, Fan Peihua said, "Ningning, don't call housekeeping service from now on. I will come over every week to help you clean. I can also cook for you when I'm free after get off work."

Fan Peihua has always treated Jiang Yining as her half-daughter. When Du Ruo passed away, she was very sad as her best friend of many years and had taken good care of Jiang Yining over the years.

Jiang Yining immediately refused, "Aunt Fan, this won't work."

He Chi chi chimed in, "Aunt Fan, the salary for the Yuhubancheng housekeeping job is high, which also means that the service quality requirements are strict."

"It may seem like just cleaning and cooking, but almost every employer in Yuhubancheng has a large house with a lot of valuables, so you can't be careless when working. I basically work a full eight hours a day and am exhausted by the time I get off work."
