Chapter 37: Is it a Cold War? (1/2)

The man opposite looked at her silently.

He didn't say anything. Jiang Yining felt upset when she thought of He Chi sending Zhao Jiajia home, and she didn't want to talk either.

She was very tired and wanted to take a nap first.

Jiang Yining kept her head down while drinking the ginger soup, not looking at He Chi across from her. After she finished, she spoke first, "I'm sleepy, you should get some rest early."

Hearing this, He Chi frowned, but said nothing.

After Jiang Yining returned to her room, He Chi got up and took her bowl to the kitchen to wash it. He smoked a cigarette in the living room before going back to his room to sleep.

The next day, He Chi got up early because he had to go back to the company to deal with some things. When Jiang Yining still didn't open the door until around nine o'clock, he asked his aunt to make breakfast for Jiang Yining and then went back to the company.

Jiang Yining slept until ten o'clock in the morning. When she woke up, she felt groggy. She raised her hand and touched her forehead, which was very hot, and her body was also hot.

She struggled to get up from the bed and went to the bathroom to wash up.

There was some movement in the kitchen. Jiang Yining went to take a look and saw an aunt busy in the kitchen. Seeing her, the aunt said, "Hello, Mrs. He, Mr. He asked me to cook some porridge. Do you want to eat it now?"

Jiang Yining nodded, "Yes, thank you for your help."

After the aunt served her the porridge, Jiang Yining said, "I have to go out for a while, so I don't need to cook for lunch."

"No problem, Mr. He bought a lot of ingredients and I put them all in the refrigerator."

Jiang Yining didn't have the energy to speak anymore and just hummed.

After forcing himself to finish the bowl of porridge, Jiang Yining took his cell phone and ID card and went to the hospital.

Jiang Yining had just arrived at the hospital and met Du Yingzhe in the hospital lobby.

Du Yingzhe called out, "Ningning."

Jiang Yining stopped and turned around to see Du Yingzhe walking towards her in a white coat.

"cousin."

Du Yingzhe saw that she was pale and reached out to touch her forehead. "Why is it so hot?"

Jiang Yining did not hide it from him, "I got caught in the rain last night and got a fever after sleeping."

Du Yingzhe helped her walk and said to her, "Your physical condition is already weak, and you don't take good care of yourself. Why do you want to get wet in the rain when you can just hide?"

"I'll take you to the fever clinic."

Du Yingzhe waited until Jiang Yining had received an IV drip before he went to do his work. Before leaving, he asked the nurse to help look after her. He also took the time to come again during the process.

Jiang Yining had just woken up when he came over.

Thanks to Du Yingzhe's request, the nurse took extra care of it. Jiang Yining didn't even know the bottle was empty. The nurse had to change it when she came to see her.

Du Yingzhe sat down with her for a while and asked, "Why did you come here alone? Isn't He Chi at home?"

Jiang Yining was still confused, and it took a while for him to answer him, "He's not at home. I guess he's back to the company."

Du Yingzhe poured her a glass of warm water and said, "You shouldn't have come to the hospital alone with a high fever. What if you fainted?"

"That's not an exaggeration. I used to come to the hospital alone when I was sick. I wasn't that fragile."

She goes to the hospital many times throughout the year and is familiar with this hospital.

Du Yingzhe knew that Jiang Yining had a stubborn temper and didn't want to say too much to her when she was sick. "Drink some water first."

Jiang Yining's throat was dry, so he took the cup and drank all the water.

Du Yingzhe asked, "Do you want more?"

Jiang Yining shook his head.

She was too lazy to pick out clothes before going out, so she just picked up a set of clothes nearby and changed into them: a white high-waisted skirt, a pleated vest of the same color, and a gray cardigan.

Jiang Yining's temperament originally seemed a bit cold, and this dress accentuated this. She was not wearing any makeup, but her skin was clear and fair, and she was quite eye-catching sitting here.

At this moment, she frowned, and her face looked a little sick, which made me feel pity for her.

Du Yingzhe felt sorry for her, "Ningning, are you feeling unwell?"

Jiang Yining shook her head. She had to pee urgently and wanted to go to the toilet, but there was a needle stuck in one of her hands, so it was inconvenient for her to go. She was too uncomfortable holding it in.
