Chapter 37: Is it a Cold War? (2/2)

"Cousin, go and do your thing. I'll be back soon after I finish this IV."

Du Yingzhe looked up and reminded her, "There's still one bottle."

Jiang Yining: “…”

She shouldn't have drunk that glass of water just now.

Du Yingzhe was worried about Jiang Yining going back alone after the IV drip, so he said, "Ningning, I'll let He Chi come over to accompany you."

Jiang Yining refused, "No, he's at the company. Don't let him make the trip. I can go back by myself."

"Work is not as important as my wife."

Du Yingzhe noticed that something was wrong with her expression, "Did you have a fight?"

Jiang Yining didn't say anything. After a while, he said, "I don't know if this counts as a quarrel."

She has no experience, so is it considered a cold war?

Du Yingzhe has experience, "Husband and wife quarrel at the head of the bed and make up at the foot of the bed."

"Cousin, go to work and don't worry about my business. I can handle it myself."

She just didn't want He Chi to know. He was so angry last night. If he knew that she had a fever because of being caught in the rain, he would probably be even angrier.

Jiang Yining actually didn't understand He Chi's personality, but she felt that he seemed particularly cold when he was angry. Seeing his cold face, she didn't know what to do.

She couldn't hold it in any longer, so she stood up and took the IV bottle, not forgetting to remind him, "Don't tell He Chi, or I'll break up with you."

You are so old, you are still playing this trick. You are not a three-year-old child.

While Jiang Yining went to the bathroom, Du Yingzhe called He Chi.

He Chi was in a meeting and when he saw it was Du Yingzhe, he picked up the phone.

Du Yingzhe heard the voices of others talking on his side and guessed that he was busy. He hesitated for a moment and asked, "Is it not disturbing you?"

"No, you say."

"Ningning has a fever and is receiving an IV drip in the hospital. I'm worried about her being alone. If you're busy, it's okay. I'll take some time off to take her home..."

He Chi said in a deep voice, "No need, I'll go over now, send me the address."

Du Yingzhe paused and said, "Okay."

After hanging up the phone, He Chi signaled his secretary to call the vice president over. He picked up the phone and left in a hurry.

When Jiang Yining came back from the bathroom, she saw Du Yingzhe still there and thought that he had not told He Chi about her illness.

Just as he breathed a sigh of relief, he heard Du Yingzhe say, "He Chi is coming over. I'll go get busy first."

Jiang Yining was immediately struck by a bolt from the blue and angrily said, "Du Yingzhe, I want to break off all ties with you!"

Du Yingzhe said calmly, "Let's talk about this after you recover from your illness, be good."

After saying that, Du Yingzhe slipped away.

He Chi rushed over when Jiang Yining was changing the last bottle of IV.

Along the way, He Chi thought a lot and regretted his bad attitude last night, but when he saw her soaked all over, he couldn't help but get angry.

She would rather come back in the rain than call him and ask him to pick her up.

He didn't understand why Jiang Yining rejected him so much yesterday.

It was even worse today. She ran to the hospital alone because she had a fever, and he, as her husband, only found out about it through others.

When He Chi arrived, he spotted Jiang Yining at a glance. She was sitting there thinly, her eyes showing a bit of fragility. He had no time to be angry.

Jiang Yining's eyes met He Chi's, but she looked away for a moment.

He Chi walked over and sat down next to Jiang Yining. Instead of blaming her, he raised his hand and touched her forehead. Her fever had not subsided yet.

He lowered his eyes to look at Jiang Yining's hand where the needle was inserted. The back of his hand was a little red and swollen, and it was estimated that there were more than one needle marks.

Her skin is white, but her blood vessels are thin and hidden under the skin, making them inconspicuous.

He Chi placed her hand, which was receiving an IV drip, on the back of his hand and gently asked, "Does it hurt?" This chapter has been read (please click on the next chapter to continue reading!)
