Chapter 5 The Boy in the Room 2

Lu Zhaozhao glanced at Wen Sheng, who was deliberately sitting far away from her, sighed, and moved closer to him.

Wen Sheng glanced at it out of the corner of her eye, then moved a few steps further away.

"Ahem." Lu Zhaozhao cleared her throat and apologized to the person who was throwing a tantrum: "This is my fault. I shouldn't have lied to you and asked you to take the box out for me, and I shouldn't have looked at what was inside the box."

Lu Zhaozhao paused and looked at Wen Sheng, only to see him give a soft hum and still ignore her. Lu Zhaozhao had no choice but to continue, "But this thing is very important to me. I think I might need it to survive, so I have to do this."

Upon hearing this, Wen Sheng's expression changed, and she awkwardly turned around, asking, "Are you sick? Can it cure you?"

Lu Zhaozhao giggled and tapped his forehead with her finger. "I'm not sick, and this thing isn't for curing illnesses. It makes people stronger, and only in this way can I survive."

"Outside, will you die if you're not strong?" Wen Sheng asked, puzzled.

After thinking for a long time, Lu Zhaozhao nodded solemnly, "Survival of the fittest. If you are not strong enough, you cannot control your own life."

Wen Sheng nodded thoughtfully.

Lu Zhaozhao continued, "So, can you forgive me now?"

Wen Sheng met her eyes and said earnestly, "I'm not angry with you, I'm just... just afraid of you..."

He spoke the last few words softer and softer, but Lu Zhaozhao heard him clearly. She smiled happily. Since transmigrating into the book, this was the first time she had smiled from the bottom of her heart, simply because the person in front of her was worried that she would be hurt by this thing.

Lu Zhaozhao handed the box back to him and told him that she was leaving.

Wen Sheng stared blankly at her, not taking it, but instead reaching out and grabbing her sleeve.

Lu Zhaozhao understood that this boy had been here since he became conscious, accompanied only by these murals and reliefs. She didn't understand what this boy was, but now it seemed that he was no different from an ordinary mortal. Over the years, the only people who could be considered his kind were outsiders who had stumbled in by mistake, and they all had selfish motives and were dealt with by the murals. So at this moment, she wanted to keep this person she could talk to.

Thinking of this, Lu Zhaozhao softened a little. She sat down and said to Wen Sheng, "Want to stay one more day? Do you want to know about the outside world?"

Hearing her say that, Wen Sheng's previously dimmed eyes lit up again, and she nodded heavily.

Looking at his appearance, Lu Zhaozhao couldn't help but smile. Knowing that he wouldn't be leaving this place in the future, she opened up and started talking.

From the three major sects of the cultivation world to the various aristocratic families, from the scenery of the human world to the folk music, the memories related to cultivation are from the original owner, while the human affairs are her experiences in Pingyang, interspersed with her life before transmigrating into the book.

Wen Sheng became more and more curious as he listened. Under the candlelight, his eyes flickered with something unusual, but Lu Zhaozhao just assumed he was curious.

After the pointer on the back of the Yuanxu Mirror completed a full rotation, Lu Zhaozhao also stopped.

Wen Sheng had already fallen asleep. She took out a garment from her storage bag and gently covered him with it, then carefully placed the secret manual from the box beside him. She then walked to the door, placed the empty box into the recessed slot beside it, and the door opened.

She turned around, glanced at the sleeping boy on the ground, and then turned and left.

The moment she turned around, Wen Sheng, who had been fast asleep on the ground, suddenly opened his eyes. He stared straight in the direction Lu Zhaozhao had left, clutched the clothes draped over him, and whispered, "I will definitely go out to find you."
