Chapter 378: My Wife is Already Married, Why Not Use Her?

Huang was beaten to the ground, with blood coming out of the corner of her mouth.

Lu Hui was so scared that she sat on the kang and cried loudly.

Lu Fei jumped down barefoot, stood in front of Huang, and blocked Ye Laizi who wanted to fight again.

Although he was terribly frightened and his frail body was shaking, he still tried his best to protect Huang.

"I heard everything your clan leader said when he sent someone here. He said if you hit my mother and us again, the clan will not give you any money anymore!"

Upon hearing this, Ye Laizi paused in his assault, then flew into a rage. He grabbed Lu Fei by the collar, lifted him up, and said, "You little bastard, I think you're tired of living!"

Huang was so frightened that she rushed over and hugged Ye Laizi's thighs, begging for mercy: "If you are angry, hit me, don't touch Xiaofei..."

Ye Laizi kicked her aside.

Lu Fei gritted his teeth and said, "Now my mother and sister know about this. Unless you kill all three of us, if you dare to hit my mother or my sister again, I will go find your clan leader!"

After he finished speaking, he was afraid that Ye Laizi would really kill them under the influence of alcohol, so he quickly said, "If you kill all three of us, my aunt will definitely report it to the authorities, and then they will arrest you and behead you!"

Ye Laizi certainly didn't have the courage to kill anyone, let alone kill three people in one breath.

He was so angry that he threw Lu Fei to the ground, turned around and went back to the house to eat and sleep.

Huang crawled over and hugged her son, tears streaming down her cheeks, but she didn't dare cry out loud.

"It's all my fault. I shouldn't have remarried. No matter how difficult it was, I should have raised you all on my own..."

But now that she's married, she has no chance to regret.

Huang asked the two children to get up, eat something, and then took them to work in the fields.

Ye Laizi went out to play all night and couldn't get up until the afternoon because someone had to do the work in the fields.

Huang couldn't do much every day, so she could only start plowing the soil a few days earlier than the villagers.

Otherwise, if we miss the farming season and delay the autumn harvest, life will only become more difficult.

Usually, Huang went to work alone, but today they had a conflict and she was afraid that Ye Laizi was holding back his anger and would beat and scold the children after she left, so she simply took the children to the fields with her.

When Huang arrived at the field, as expected, she saw the two Ye brothers working in the field again.

She looked at it enviously. The Ye family had bought a cow, so the plowing work had been done long ago.

The two brothers were both hardworking people. After plowing the land, they used a rake to rake all the land carefully several times.

It looks like we have started applying base fertilizer to the soil today.

Ye Dongkui hasn't started working on his own land yet, but today he came over to join in the fun with Ye Laoer and Ye Laosan.

"You two brothers are almost done for. You're just like the ones growing in the fields every day. You're making every other family in the village very nervous!"

"Uncle Dongkui is here." Ye Laoer straightened up and greeted him, "Your family's land is better than mine, so why are you so anxious?

"We're working so hard just to make sure you don't fall behind too much during the autumn harvest!"

"When did you become so talkative?" Ye Dongkui rolled his eyes at him, then asked, "What are you planning to plant?"

"Just like everyone else in the village, we grow rice, wheat, corn, peanuts, sweet potatoes and so on.

"Uncle Dongkui, do you have any suggestions?"

"Have you ever grown peanuts before?" Ye Dongkui asked.

"I have planted some before, but I just planted some in a patch of land in front of or behind the house, and saved some for the New Year to fry and give to the children as snacks. I've never planted as much as we do in our village!"

"It's better to have planted some crops than not to have any experience at all. When the time comes, just follow what my family does.

“I can’t say I’m very good at farming, but at least I’ve been doing it for decades, and I know more about the weather and seasons in our village than you do.

"If you have any questions, feel free to ask me."

"Uncle Dongkui, thank you so much." Ye Lao Er and Ye Lao San thanked him repeatedly.

Ye Dongkui stood at the edge of the field and watched for a while. Seeing that the two brothers of the Ye family were working very skillfully, it was obvious that they were not novices, so he went home with peace of mind.

Passing by Ye Laizi's land, Ye Dongkui saw Huang turning the soil bit by bit over there alone.

Lu Fei was also helping, but he was smaller and weaker, and he couldn't dig much soil with one hoe.

Ye Dongkui shook his head repeatedly. Although he felt sympathy for the mother and her two daughters, he did not want to provoke Ye Laizi, that scoundrel, so he could only sigh in his heart and let it go.

Huang didn't manage to dig out much dirt in the whole morning, and he was so tired that his back and waist ached.

The sun was already high in the sky, her stomach was rumbling, and the two children were also hungry.

Lu Fei endured it and said nothing.

After all, Lu Hui was still young and a girl, so she was inevitably a little spoiled. She whined and said, "Mom, I'm hungry. Let's go home and eat!"

Huang had no choice but to stop what she was doing and said, "Okay, let's go home first."

She packed up and prepared to go home. Ye Lao Er and Ye Lao San also carried their hoes and prepared to go home for dinner. They happened to pass by her field.

When Huang saw the two of them, she wanted to go up and talk to them, but she was too embarrassed to speak because she was not familiar with them. She hesitated for a long time and finally couldn't say anything.

Seeing her strange behavior, Lu Fei asked, "Mom, what's wrong with you?"

"Oh, it's okay!" Huang wanted to fool him, but seeing her son looking at her with concern, she could only say, "I was thinking about borrowing his ox and plow.
