Feng Yan nodded and quickened his pace.
They found Li Feng, who had been knocked unconscious, on the way.
Half an hour later, Feng Yan encountered Jiang Chuan, who was rushing over, when they were still a mile away from the city gate.
He waited at the Prince's residence for about half an hour, but seeing that Prince An and the others had not returned, he couldn't wait any longer. So he settled Physician Jiang at Prince An's residence and came looking for them himself.
When Jiang Chuan saw Feng Yan, covered in blood and with a cold, frosty expression, along with Li Feng and the man in black who had fainted on their two horses, he was startled: "What happened? Did you encounter an assassination attempt?"
Feng Yan was startled and stared at Jiang Chuan, asking, "Where are Master and Princess?"
Jiang Chuanxin tensed up suddenly: "Wasn't I with you?"
Feng Yan's expression changed as well: "Oh no!" He immediately said to the guards, "Go find the master and the princess separately."
The group dispersed.
Jiang Chuan grabbed Feng Yan's arm: "What exactly happened?"
Feng Yan flung Jiang Chuan's hand away: "Didn't you see we were attacked? The carriage our master was riding in was shot with an arrow, and the horse went mad."
"So you abandoned the prince and went to hunt down the assassin yourself?"
Feng Yan's expression was extremely grim: "How could Master's skills be beyond the control of even a mad horse?"
As far as he was concerned, the horse had gone mad. All the master had to do was leap off the roof of the carriage with the princess in his arms, and he would land safely in a stunningly handsome manner.
That's no big deal.
"What if our master and the others encounter assassins again?"
"After the master fired the signal flare, the original assassins had already retreated. How could there be any other assassins?"
"Where did the master go?"
"Stop asking, just start looking!"
